Oh my...
https://twitter.com/clubforce/status/42 ... 96/photo/1Sexiest livery I've seen in quite a while. The nose actually looks pretty good too from that angle.
Can't wait to see more!

Nice surprise. I had thought we would have to wait until Friday for the first images of a 2014 F1 car. The livery looks good, Black fits much better with green/orange than white. Also I like to see some liveries change a bit.

I see Claro sponsorship on the engine cover. Seems like Perez has brought a nice bag of cash to Vijay when he signed the contract. That's always good. I wonder what the rear wing will have: probably Sahara again, like last year... but maybe with swapped colours; as in black base colour with white text?

Claro is part of América Móvil which is owned by Carlos Slim. I was waiting to see who would have Telmex branding, but this makes perfect sense.

That Force India livery is quite good I think. It goes hand to hand with my allegiance switch from Sauber as Force India has, by far, the most exciting pair in the whole midfield and one of the best ones on the grid only behind Ferrari and Mercedes.

Rather than using the 2014 silly season thread to discuss this year's cars as they are launched, may I suggest using this new thread instead?
After all, the silly season is over and, in one sense, the new season is upon us!
And as for my immediate reaction to the Force India livery?
* Black, white and green work as a combo (a la the Minardi in 1995-96).
* Black, white and orange work as a combo.
* Black, white, green and orange does NOT work as a combo.

I feel it actually and unlikely works, even though four main colours is too much. But it's a bit ruined by the red "Claro" and the blue "O" logos.

I really like it...it's different, it's a slightly crazy mix of colours, but it's real pretty. Hopefully the thing's quick.

I don't actually like the livery all that much, it looks a little too busy for my taste.
Not to mention darker colours generally don't work as well in the flesh, take last years Sauber for example, it looked great with the press photos but didn't shine so much on track.

Got to say I like that new livery a whole lot more than the 'traditional' FI one, which has always in my mind been the worst on the grid, infact I think it's quite bold and exciting, so yeah, pretty good.

Not bad. Looks like Enoch's going to get outvoted on this one!
That nose... from that angle it looks a bit HRT-esque, the way the F111 had a sharp dip in it before the dreadful developments of the next year (which HRT couldn't afford to do). Still, I've not forgotten the prank Captain Hammer tried to play on us in 2012 with the top-down view of the Caterham CT-01... doesn't look bad from that angle, does it? Then, on comes the front three-quarter view, and sick bags were needed. Come on, Force India, don't let us down here...

Hello! Wasn't expecting the release this morning!!
Have to agree with Enoch, though, the colours don't mix and the sponsors are a bit busy. Replace the orange with green and you've got a better livery.
Like how the nose is hidden away from view, maybe they're not done launching the 2014 car...

I think it looks interesting when it's static, but we'll have to wait to see what it looks like at speed.

I'm gonna have to agree with Enoch and Aerospeed here, too many colours here that don't work perfectly with each other.

I like that.
Actually, it's quite similar in terms of colour scheme to cars I've designed (badly) myself in stuff like Trackmania.

It's better than the old Force India colour scheme, but still awful. But what's more important is the shape, and at least from this angle, that nose looks pretty.

It's a fantastic livery. The black goes so well. The others colours are there because of India's national flag but it works really well. And the nose, from this angle, reminds me of the Williams and Simtek noses from 1994.

Personal taste is what decides if its a good livery or not. personally i think its awesome and I cant see how people wouldnt like it.
Also just found out Bahrain will be a night race this year. Dont know if this is news or not.

I wouldn't get too excited about the nose yet, multiple sites are saying that this ISN'T the new car. Just the new livery (which I quite like). But we can all hope.

There does seem to be some speculation that Force India have some sort of extension on their nose (some suspect that the black painted section of the nose represents that part), with the pylons connection to the upper section of the nose.
Given that it is a side on shot, it is hard to tell what the overall shape of the nose is - added to that, Force India have indicated that particular nose section is one of their more conservative designs and is due to be slimmed down and modified in shape over the pre-season testing phase.

I beg to differ on that. If you have both black and white in your colorscheme, you can make any combination of bright colors work.
From what I can tell of the livery, it honestly looks like a draft of a livery, as if it's not even finished. Some things about it (and I don't mean the logos, ignore them entirely for now) don't appear consistent, as if the designer thought;
"Do I want green surrounded by white or white surrounded by green? I'll do it one way in one part of the car and the reverse on the other part and see which I like better..."
The orange, also, does not have a white stripe bordering it in the same way the white/green bits do. If it did, it would look a lot more complete.
So it looks like some muppet picked up the draft of the livery, thought; "HEY GUISE LOOK THE LIVERY IS DONE" when it wasn't. The car does, however, illustrate why black cars are infinitely superior to white ones, because bright colors stand out a lot more on black than they do on white. After all, black is literally just the absence of color, whereas white is the presence of every color all at once.
Negative marks for huge sponsor logos on the rear wing endplates. GIVE ME GIANT CAR NUMBERS THERE, DAMMIT!

I like it. FI's previous colours never meshed, and I feared I would be blinded by them. But the addition of black...spreads the colours out, makes them exciting dashes of paint instead of a boring livery.

There are rumours from Brazil that Martini will be Williams' new primary sponsor.....not sure how reliable, but they were the first to tell about Massa contract too...

That's horriffic. What's with Williams and their ugly, animal-themed noses. First the Walrus-nose, now the anteater nose, what next? The shark nose?

What would be good is if one of the teams actually put little nostril decals on the nose. Shame that Jordan aren't around any more! I my opinion, I actually prefer these noses to the stepped noses before. It's the lesser of 2 evils.
Re: the Force India livery, I quite like it even if it could be tidied up a little bit. However, I suspect that it won't look as good on track because I guess they will be using gloss paint/decals rather than the picture which makes it look matte.

The Williams doesn't look too ugly, but it doesn't look that quick either, even if I think Williams will be winners this year and the livery in the picture is for pre-season testing. And my reaction to Martini possibly sponsoring the team? Not a bad choice (Ferrari were sponsored by it around 2007-8).
