A much more interesting parallel universe

Somewhere out there, F1 fans in a parallel universe are enjoying modern F1 history a lot more:

1993- Alain Prost
1994 - Damon Hill
1995 - Michael Schumacher
1996- Damon Hill
1997- Jacques Villeneuve
1998- Mika Hakkinen
1999- Eddie Irvine
2000- Mike Hakkinen
2001- Michael Schumacher
2002- Michael Schumacher
2003- Kimi Raikkonen
2004- Michael Schumacher
2005- Fernando Alonso
2006- Fernando Alonso
2007- Lewis Hamilton
2008- Felipe Massa
2009- Jenson Button
2010- Mark Webber
2011- Sebastian Vettel
2012- Fernando Alonso
2013- Sebastian Vettel

But for a few small alterations the last 20 years could've been far less dominant and much more interesting. I would've personally preferred this version of reality and I apply for a transfer to this parallel universe, even if humans have forked teeth and fart fire.

Replace Lewis Hamilton with Markus Winkelhock and I'm in.

I'm not sure the 2000 championship was quite as close as you suggest, I would think that Villeneuve was actually closer to being a double world champion than Hakkinen was to being a triple. But yes, the others all came close to happening.

I would have had Montoya for 2003 champion and Raikkonen for 2005, to not deny him a title.

I'd have put Hamilton as 2010 Champion. He was only 24 points off the title lead going into the final race where he won convincingly, this after throwing away good points with silly incidents in Italy and Singapore. 1999 would be Irvine, especially if Salo was asked to move over at every race, just to give Irvine extra points. Salo was running 3rd at Monza and had he 'retired' Ivine would claim 5th place, he would then be handed 2nd by Schumacher at Japan giving Irvine the title by one point. Massa for 08, Hamilton 07.

Hakkinen easily deserved 1999 over Irvine. The Irishman had so many lucky breaks to even be in his position (Better reliability, Shumachers injury, Hakkinen making costly errors) and yet he still managed to choke and lose the title.

In an universe, where sportive justice actually exists the 2009 World Champion is being named Rubens Barrichello.

Also, Popovich would have switched in McGrady for Ginobli in Game 6. Curse you, Gregg.

Thank god there isn't sportive justice. Otherwise Brawn GP would probably have been forced to remove the double diffuser and we would be saying that the last champion not named Vettel was Lewis Hamilton.

As this topic dabbles more with fantasy rather than the current affairs in F1, I'm moving it to the 18-Metre Debut Forum.
