I'll take on managing Team Lotus. Also, I'd like to request Fuji is dropped from the calendar, since even by 1965 standards that place is a deathtrap.

I'll manage Cooper if that's OK.

I'll have a go at managing Ferrari :P and yes, 1960's Fuji was far too dangerous, even by contemporary standards.

All entries are accepted, and when all teams are picked, there will be an election on dropping Fuji from the calendar.

DeletrazFTW, would you mind making a third post here? It's just so I won't have to approve any future edits, so this thread won't disappear again.

Please may I have R.R.C. Walker Racing Team?
thanks.

P.s Can you keep Fuji on the calendar because it is a challenging track. Nobody complains about the Nurburgring when it comes to driver saftey and that place is more dangerous than Fuji.

I'm also in favour of dropping Fuji from the calendar. Here's what Vic Elford said about that track.

Vic Elford wrote:"In 1969 I spent two months in Japan doing a test contract for Toyota and their Toyota 7 (5 litre V-8), which along with a big Nissan (6.3 litre V-12), was destined for CanAm. My last testing and then the subsequent Sports Car GP were at Fuji, but the track was run in a clockwise direction. The reason that banking was so horrific, was that at the end of the straight we went over a blind crest at around 190/200 mph and dropped into the banking. At other tracks (Daytona, Monthlery, etc.) you climb up the banking. One of the results was that although there were many brave Japanese drivers there were not too many with great skill and the death toll from that one corner was horrendous. To such an extent that the big Gp 7 cars were then banned in Japan and thus, neither Nissan or Toyota ever made it to CanAm."

Nothing wrong with challengining tracks, but that first corner at Fuji was unacceptable even by 1960s standards.

Well, V8fan12 took the team first, but tommykl was the first to actually take Ian Raby Racing instead of another team already taken... I don't know who should have the team, but I have a solution: one of you takes IRR, and I'll create a similar team for the other, but I don't know who should have which team, then :|

Nope, 1969. Fuji Speedway didn't exist in 1959 and Elford didn't start racing before 1961 ;)

Well if you want an honest opinion, V8fan12 tried to apply for a team that was already taken and thus missed those crucial few hours during which tommykl grabbed the next alternative. So I don't see a reason to start changing the team picks.

I´ve decided to let tommykl take IRR since he technically picked it first, but V8fan can have another team, Scuderia Scribante, with exactly the same stats as IRR.

The fact that me and normal32 did notice Samster already claimed DW, and therefore claimed a different team instead, and V8fan still claimed DW after not reading Samsters claim, doesn't speak into his favour. Tommykl just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Altough it must be said that Normal32 edited his claim a few times too, but he was just lucky, i guess...

The next thing is driver signings. Please, post a list of 4 drivers you want FOR EACH CAR. Also, don´t forget to post the salary you´re offering! You can also tell something about your driver if he/she doesn´t have a wiki page, because I only know a few drivers from the 60s

Also, no fictional drivers, please.

Reg Parnell Racing are going to run two cars, and offer contracts to the following drivers:

1. Jochen Rindt - 250 000
2. Chris Amon - 150 000
3. Jo Siffert - 125 000
4. Richie Ginther - 125 000
5. Joakim Bonnier - 100 000
6. Pedro Rodriguez - 100 000
7. Mike Parkes - 75 000
8. Innes Ireland - 75 000

Also, I have a suggestion: You could let the people on the waiting list enter one-off entries, for example for South Africa, or Nürburgring. Part-time and one-off entries were very common in the 60s.
