KL-Racer’s F1 Management: 2006 (SEASON FINALE UP!)
KL-Racer’s F1 Management: 2006 (SEASON FINALE UP!)
Okay, so I ultimately decided to try my hand at a F1 management game, using Grand Prix 2 and I decided to do 2006. Due to the fact that Grand Prix 2 needs 13 teams, and since only 11 teams actually raced in 2006, I decided to add Prodrive and Carlin to the mix just for the LOLS!

Well, that was quick to fill up all of the slots! So, on to the next step, drivers and engine bids!
Engine Bids:
All seven engine makers can only supply a maximum of 2 teams, and given that there are 13 teams, one engine maker will end up supplying one team after all of this is over. And no, before you ask, you can’t use the Cosworth V10 (unless it’s absolutely necessary to do so after all of the bids are finished!) Finally, you can bid up to three engines if you are NOT Renault, Ferrari, Toyota, BMW or Honda. If you are one of these teams, the engine cost will be deducted from that initial budget.
Note: All prices are the minimum required!
Renault $18 million 1 team left
Mercedes $16 million 2 teams left (prefers McLaren)
Ferrari $14 million 1 team left
Toyota $12 Million 1 team left
Honda $10 million 1 team left (Prefers Super Aguri)
BMW $8 million 1 team left
Cosworth $6 million 2 teams left
Driver Bids You need two race drivers and one reserve driver. You can bid on up to three drivers for each position. Note: PD equals Pay driver, obviously! The prices listed are also the minimum required.
Michael Schumacher $14 million
Fernando Alonso $12 million
Kimi Raikkonen $10 million
Felipe Massa $8 million
Giancarlo Fisichella $7 million
Juan Pablo Montoya $6 million
Jenson Button $6 million
Rubens Barrichello $5 million
Jarno Trulli $4 million
Nick Heidfeld $4 million
Jacques Villeneuve $4 million
Ralf Schumacher $3 million
Mark Webber $3 million
Nico Rosberg $2.5 million
David Coulthard $2.5 million
Christian Klien $2 Million
Vitantonio Liuzzi $2 million
Christian Albers $1.5 million
Scott Speed $1 million
Pedro De La Rosa $1 million
Tiago Monteiro $1 million
Takuma Sato $1 million
Heikki Kovalainen $1 million
Anthony Davidson $0.75 million
Robert Kubica $0.75 million
Adrian Sutil $3 million PD (thanks Klon for this)
Mark Gene $0.5 million
Franck Montagy $0.5 million
Alexander Wurz $0.5 million
Sebastian Vettel $0.5 million
Ernesto Viso $5 million PD (thanks Klon for this)
Luca Badoer $0.25 million
Yuji Ide $0.25 million
Robert Doornbos $0.25 million
Michael Ammermuller $0.25 million
Markus Winkelhock $0.25 million
Alexandre Premat $0.25 mllion
Neel Jani $0.25 million
Narian Karthikeyan $6 million PD
Sakon Yamamoto $4 million PD
Giorgio Mondini $2 million PD
You can post your bids on here, but as soon as you posted your bids, you can’t go back and edit them! We don’t want anyone cheating! One final note: I didn’t know who’s really a pay driver on this list, so if you want to correct me on who should or shouldn't be a pay driver on this list, feel free to mention it!
Good Luck!
EDIT: All contacts will be done via RNG! Just to throw that out there!

That's not how it works in real life, you know. If somebody makes a bid, the original bidder is allowed to outbid them.
Snap, I would know that someone will probably complain about that rule!
Well, I am open to changing it, of course. But I need a vote from the other owners as well. As a general rule, if there's a 75% majority that approves of it, I will go ahead and change it. So, if I was going to change it I need the support of 8 other owners as well. Does that sound fair for you guys?

That was my original plan anyway, wait until all 13 team bids are posted and then I calculate them by the RNG.
So, as of now I still need Ferrari, Williams, Honda, Super Aguri, Prodrive and Carlin's Bids posted before I actually start the RNG stage.
At this rate, I will hope you guys can post them by Tomorrow at 7:00 PM MST ideally, but I'm open to extending the deadline as well

Re: KL-Racer’s F1 Management Game: 2006 Season
ENGINE BIDS TIME!
Since I got all the bids from all 13 teams. I will now post the engine bid results and by the way, I will go from the most expensive to least expensive for this set of bids.
Renault – Renault 18m
Renault will only supply their own works team for the time being because no other team wanted or are willing to pay the price tag!
Mercedes – McLaren 16 m Williams 16 m Midland 16m
Well, McLaren did bid on their preferred engine, but Williams and Midland are also bidding for the Mercedes motors.
McLaren 1-60
Williams 61-90
Midland 91-100
The number is . . . 40, so McLaren gets to keep their Mercedes Motors. Now, it’s down to Williams or Midland for the second batch
Williams 1-65
Midland 66-100
The number is . . . 80 so Midland in a surprise, gets the Mercedes Motors
Ferrari – Red Bull 15m
Well, Ferrari supplies Ferrari, obviously. And since Red Bull were the only other team outside of Midland to bid for Ferrari’s. Red Bull gets the Ferrari motors.
Toyota – Toyota 12 m
Toyota supplies their own team. However, Toyota didn’t get any other bids other than midland which already has Mercedes motors and their own team, they will only supply their own works team for 2006.
Honda – Honda 10 m Super Aguri 10 m
Honda supplies their own team and since Super Aguri was the only other team to bid for Honda’s engine. Their offer was accepted without a problem.
BMW – Wlliams 10 m Prodrive 12 m Toro Rosso 9 m
BMW Sauber already got their engines and Red Bull also bid for the BMW engine, but since they already got their engines as well, it’s down to Williams, Prodrive and Toro Rosso. It’s a 50/30/20 split as we decide who gets the second batch of BMW’s
Williams 1-50
Prodrive 51-80
Toro Rosso 81-100
The number is . . . 99 WOW! Toro Rosso pulled out an Major upset, scoring the second supply of BMW’S!
Cosworth – Williams 6 m Prodrive 7 m Carlin 6 m
Finally, Red Bull, and Toro Rosso withdrew their bids for Cosworth’s V8 because they already got their engines. Since, Cosworth can only supply V8's to two teams, and there are three teams left that need engines, which means one team has to use a Cosworth V10 for $3 million this season. The split is 55/25/20
Williams 1-55
Prodrive 56-80
Carlin 81-100
The number is . . . 72, so Prodrive gets the First batch of Cosworth V8’s and now it’s down to Williams and Carlin for the other set of Cosworth V8’s. The loser of this has to use the Cosworth V10 for $3 million. It’s a 50/50 split for the last Engine RNG.
Wiliams 1-50
Carlin 51-100
The number is . . . 16, so Williams gets the second set of Cosworth V8’s.
The first part of the driver bids will be coming up in 90 minutes or so. So, stay tuned for that!

Driver Bids Part 1
Okay, so here’s the first part of the driver bids. I decided to do the drivers that only received one bid first. Then, I will deal with the drivers with multiple bids in part 2 onwards starting with the drivers that received the most bids and working our way from there
Ralf Schumacher - Toyota 4.5 m #1 driver
After finishing 6th in the driver’s standings in 2005 for Toyota. Ralf only received an offer from his current team. So, he will stay as Toyota’s #1, which also means their offer for Nick Heidfeld will be withdrawn.
Tiago Monteiro - Toyota 1.5 m test driver role
Sadly for Tiago Monetiro, he only received a test offer from Toyota, after finishing 3rd in the now infamous 6-car USA GP in 2005 and scored Jordan’s final point ever with a 8th at Spa in 2005.
Vitantonio Liuzzi - Toro Rosso 1.5 m #2 driver
After scoring a single point in 2005 at his first F1 race in Imola for Red Bull as part of a platoon with Christian Klien, he only received a #2 offer from Toro Rosso, Red Bull’s Jr. team, which used to be Minardi. Given that he is closely tied to Red Bull's program, he accepts.
Scott Speed - Toro Rosso $0.5 million Test Driver role
The Promising American, Scott speed, only got an offer from Toro Rosso to be their test driver. After contract talks, they agreed to pay him half a million dollars to be their test driver.
Robert Doornbos – BMW Sauber 0.25 m test driver role
He ended up as a race driver for Minardi in 2005, contesting the last 8 races of the 2005 season. Oddly enough, he only received a test driver offer from BMW Sauber for a Quarter of a million dollars. At least, BMW Sauber is a step up from Minardi/Toro Rosso, so he accepts it.
Sebastien Bourdais - McLaren 5 m #2 Driver
Champ Car Driver Bourdais, got an offer from McLaren to be a #2 driver, he wants to try F1 but he is still somewhat committed to Champ Car for 2006. So a RNG will be needed
Joins McLaren 1-55
Stays in Champ Car 56-100
The Number is . . . 94, he declines the McLaren offer to stay in the USA.
Lewis Hamilton - McLaren 0.5 m test driver role
A Young Lewis Hamilton got a test driver offer from McLaren, which he is closely tied to already. So, he accepts the offer.
Yuji Ide - Super Aguri 0.25 M #2 driver
This Japanese driver needs to get approval for a FIA Super License. Chances are 20% in his favor right now.
1-20 Gets the FIA Super License and accepts the offer
21-100 doesn’t get the FIA Super License at this time
The Number is . . . 87, so he doesn’t get the Super License needed for a Race seat right now, but he can still be a test driver with any F1 team and then get the FIA Super license that way.
Markus Winkelhock – Prodrive 0.3 M test driver role
This driver wants to follow in the footsteps of Joachim WInkelhock, but sadly enough he only got a test driver offer from the new Prodrive team, he accepts being in a developmental role.
Gary Paffett – Carlin 1.2 m #2 driver
Long time DTM driver, Gary Paffett, got only one offer, which is a race drive for Carlin. Given that he is stuck deep in the depth chart for McLaren, he accepts the offer
Chanoch Nissany – Carlin 4 m PD test driver role
This ex-Minardi tester and Pay driver got a test driver offer from Carlin. He accepts their demand for 4 million dollars.
Michael Schumacher Ferrari 17 m #1 driver
7-time world champion Michael Schumacher, only got an offer from his current team, Ferrari and he’s hungry for revenge in 2006, so he accepts their offer
Juan Pablo Montoya – Ferrari 10 m #2 driver
JPM only got one offer which is to be Michael Schumacher’s Teammate at Ferrari. He accepts their offer because who wouldn’t pass up a Ferrari race drive?
