Thoughts to the families of the victims.

Tragically, it appears that they have now announced that a third individual has died due to their injuries, with a fourth currently in a critical condition in hospital. It was already a sad blow to have head earlier today that spectators had been injured in a separate accident, but for that second accident to follow so shortly afterwards kind of leaves you speechless.

Absolutely terrible news for all concerned. It is a reminder to us all that racing on public roads with little safety provision can have terrible consequences. It is in these environments that we should exercise caution and restraint, and when things do go wrong like this not to pin the blame on entirely innocent parties when scrabbling around for a scapegoat.

This is why I'm quite angry that the BBC have the nerve to stir the pot and provoke an entirely pointless debate on whether the stewards could have done more to prevent the accident. Thankfully the resident interviewed on the 10 O'Clock News had the sense to explain this to the reporter, but as usual common sense will fall on deaf ears when it comes to over-eager journalists looking for a few column inches.

i don't understand why rally spectator safety hasn't budged since it began. yes, it's a thrill, but it still remains an extreme hazard.
I believe in German BARawnda-Tyrrell-Simca(and it's working)

the only difference between the roman gladiators and racing drivers is that racing drivers sit inside the lion that is trying to kill them.

Does listening to a dog licking its balls get you excited?

That's between me and my internet service provider.
