Alternative F1 - 1996 Season

In this series, you will not run the teams. I would have liked to create one, but given what's happened in here in the last few weeks, it didn't seem like a good idea.

Anyway:

Teams/Drivers
Scuderia Ferrari
Engine: Ferrari V12
Driver 1: Michael Schumacher (#1)
Driver 2: Jean Alesi (#2)
Test Driver: Giancarlo Fisichella
Team Principal: Stefano Domenicali
Personnel: 320

I would use RNG for all the deals, and xcorinate for the results.

I can do rest of the teams if you are interested :)

Go for it, although I don't think xcorinate (is that different to xkoranate?) is the best program to simulate F1 results. Then again, it would be interesting to see what kind of results this would produce :) .

xkoranate is an awful, awful program to use for generating realistic results. Hilarious results, on the other hand...

Wasn't xkoranate used in that Alternative 1990 series where Footwork Arrows finished 2nd or 3rd in the championship?

If you mean my series (where they finished 4th) yes. But this wasn't only caused by xcoronate, they also developed an active suspension system early on. However, xkoronate is a pretty bad program...

In case you're standing here, DeletrazFTW, wondering why xkoranate is so terrible:

*Top drivers will qualify way down the order for no reason
*No one ever overtakes anyone
*Entries with max reliability will be lucky to last an hour

Those are the main things.

Well, which simulating program should I use, then?

GP2 is overused for a good reason. It has all the features you'll ever need, especially if you were planning on using xkoranate, and unlike later games, anyone can edit it without major problems no matter how dumb they are. You'll have to install a few things, but it's nothing that can really be screwed up, it'll just take a bit of time. The game's most major flaw is that you're limited to either 13 or 14 teams, but it's 1996 and I'm sure no one will complain about more teams. It's work compared to xkoranate, but it's not that much work at all.

All that said, though, I haven't tried that many games, so wait for more than one reply before you rush off and do that.

Thank you :) I actually own GP2, let's see if I can find it somewhere... :D
