What a shocking news. Discuss.

(Better sources, as well as confirmations, are available in the following posts)

Didn't expect that kind of news.
Does it mean that - if it's true - Ferrari will operate as a separate entity, not a part of FiatChrysler group?

It's a "maybe", and it's from Jalopnik. So it almost certainly is bullshit.

Who are "World Car Fans"? And why do you trust their opinion? Two websites also do not count as "everywhere"...Autosport or it didn't happen.

Since this mainly is about the car company rather than the F1 team, Autosport doesn't talk about it, but see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29817720 and http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-10-2 ... -unit.html

Autocar or it never happened. They are the most reputable source in this field and if they have said nothing, it ain't true.

Edit, they have mentioned it.
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/indus ... ock-market

The important part of this is that they are going onto the New York Stock Market.
FCA currently owns 90 per cent of Ferrari, while the other 10 per cent is owned by Piero Ferrari – the only living son of Enzo Ferrari.

A total of 10 per cent of FCA's interest in Ferrari will be offered to public investors. The remainder will be distributed among FCA shareholders.

An interesting thing to point out here is that Fiat-Chrysler Association are on already on the NYSE and the announcement lead to shares in the group go up by 5%.

I find it very condescending. And really bloody annoying as well.

Well, the rumour has been kicking around for quite some time now (there has been a strong suggestion that the real reason why Matiacci was hired to run the Ferrari F1 team was because of his connections within the US financial sector ahead of a prospective floatation of Ferrari on the NYSE and a fundraising drive by the Fiat-Chrysler corporation in the US).

Well, surprisingly, on the internet, you cannot hear a person's tone of voice, so I find smilies a useful way to imply tone. So :P to you all!

Both points are indeed correct.

Nigel Mansell won the 1995 British Grand Prix
and
Nigel Mansell won the 1995 British Grand Prix :(

are two completely different sentences, even if the words are the same! But writing;

Nigel Mansell won the 1995 British Grand Prix ;)

just makes you a complete and utter James Hunt...

On another note, an interesting comment has been raised about one potential side effect of the floatation that Luca may have wanted to keep out of the public gaze - because Scuderia Ferrari forms part of the wider group, Ferrari will have to provide information about the financial flows within the F1 team in their public accounts. If that is correct, then it'll be interesting to finally take a look into their finances given the rumours and speculation in the past...
