Grand Prix Rejects

The idea is simple - only races held at one of the tracks from the inaugural 1950 F1 season:

Silverstone
Autodromo di Monza
Spa-Francorchamps
Circuit de Monaco
Bremgarten
Reims
Indianapolis

count towards the championship. The points system used for each race is the same as used in real life during that time.

With no further ado - let's get the ball rolling, starting with the most recent season.

1980 will consist of ONE race.

Hmmm...

I think this could work, but in a different way. If I were doing this (which I'm not, because I've got enough championships to worry about at the moment), I'd have a Grand Prix (not a circuit) become eligible after existing as a championship Grand Prix IRL for 10 years. For the early years, I'd count Grandes Epreuves as Grands Prix.

I don't mind having a one-race season, actually

Despite the DNF in Belgium Hamilton takes the crown thanks to his two wins (Silverstone and Monza) and one second place (Monaco). However, Daniel Ricciardo comes a close second, just three points behind. Before the title decider in Italy the young Australian was leading the championship by 12 points from Hamilton and Rosberg - both Mercedes drivers had 43 points and exact same finishing record (one win, one 2nd and a retirement).

1995 will have a very popular winner I think!
