Grand Prix Rejects

Well, that was one of the season openers of all time.

It got us discussing the only truly important question in F1 over on the Discord: just how many Grands Prix will Max Verstappen win this year?



I figured we'd turn this into a deeply unofficial competition. We will also need a tie-breaker, so that we don't have about 20 winners, and we'll need for me to get a job so I can afford to send a prize to the winner when that eventually happens.

So without further ado, this will be the form:


One lucky person will win something rejectful and Verstappen themed, assuming that I am employed on the date of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

I'll go for 19 wins, 1 2nd, 1 3rd, 2 retirements.

Glad you've done this as it might be interesting to follow instead of getting depressed at the state of affairs.

Ferrari will always find some way of messing up, Mercedes concept is all wrong and will take too much time to fix, and Aston Martin are approaching from too far way (too big a step to make in one season).

I'm fully blackpilled. I looked up previous dominant seasons (2002, 2004, 2014, 2015, 2016) for reasons why Red Bull won't win. I don't think they'll suffer from reliability problems, Perez is clearly second best and Verstappen won't care about throwing Perez a bone during the season, so the only things left are tracks that don't suit RBR/suit other cars more, or rain/SC shenanigans. Maybe Monza will suit the Ferraris more if they've intentionally trimmed the aero out to get a home win, but I think the Red Bulls can respond.

This is an excellent system. If it goes fully how you're planning, you'll be happy because you won the predictions - if you lose the predictions then you'll be happy because things went better than you expected

If that happens, then it doesn't count as a win, 2nd place, 3rd place or retirement - because it wasn't any one of those things.

Thankfully I had Klon creating a nice low floor for failure. I was second lowest with 12!
