Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Imola 2024
1. Takuma Sato. The guy's pushing 50 and he still continues to amaze us. Putting a Rahal car into the Fast 12 is one hell of an achievement.
2. Rinus VeeKay. The sheer size of this bloke's grapefruits to get his car into the Fast 12 having crashed a couple of hours earlier!

1. KMAG for not attempting homicide
2. Alonso for finishing the race
3. Hugh Grant for his award winning performance in the movie Night Train to Venice (my personal favourite)

(1) Verstappen - so much talk prior to the race was about how Red Bull were struggling, and how Norris/Leclerc were going to win, but Max led from the front, managed the race perfectly, did not panic under serious pressure for the last three laps, and finished 54 seconds ahead of Perez.
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Imola 2024
I would have nominated Norris if he had won, but I'm giving this to Stroll for actually scoring points for once, and surprisingly being clearly the better Aston Martin driver this weekend!

Lando Norris: Even though it shouldn't be a massive surprise to see Norris on the podium right now, I figure he showed, despite not securing the win, that last race was not just a flash in the pan.

Stroll - the the point that I thought the Aston Martin drivers had secretly swapped.
"Poor old Warwick takes it from behind all throughout this season". (Tony Jardine, 1988)
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Imola 2024
I guess that Stroll is perhaps the closest that we might get to a candidate - however, it does feel like one of those weekends where perhaps "none of the above" might be worth considering.
Martin Brundle, on watching a replay of Grosjean spinning:
"The problem with Grosjean is that he want to take a look back at the corner he's just exited"

I’ll give Stroll his due as well, a first points finish since Australia and a rare weekend where he outperformed Alonso
Again though I’m struggling, As much as Verstappen had to actually fight for a win for once it’s still Verstappen winning, Norris’s form is expected now too as McLaren have inched ahead of Ferrari. I can’t even nominate Tsunoda as he’s always first in line to pick up any scraps the top 5 teams leave behind
