HULKENBERG did supremely well today. Great drive, important points.
MERCEDES as a whole - shame about Hamilton's Q3, but he could have floundered in the race and didn't.

1. Nico Hulkenberg. On the pace all weekend and got some good points. The fight for 6th will go down to the wire.
2. Zhou. Not enough credit given to him this weekend. Got into q2, did some good driving and did finish much higher than some faster cars. Good job.

Benetton of 1992. Never a reject

I guess I'll go with Mercedes – the best pace they've had in a while with Russell dominating and Hamilton climbing from tenth to second.

Nothing improbable occurred - no scratch that.

Re: Las Vegas GP IIDOTR
I’m actually going to give it to Mercedes (gasp), since the summer break ended they’ve been largely nowhere, just 1 podium in the 7 races before today and even that was Russell’s extremely lucky 3rd in Azerbaijan. Yet they turned up to Vegas and smashed it out of the park all weekend with only Hamilton’s Q3 botchjob denying them the perfect weekend and even then he put in easily his best race since Belgium to turn it around. This car just comes alive when it’s a cold and low grip race and considering Qatar and Abu Dhabi are also held at night this form may continue to the end of the year.
Pierre Gasly: Purely for that sensational 3rd place in Qualifying on merit, would have surely scored well until the Renault engine did what it does best.
HM: Zhou Guanyu: He was actually quietly impressive, got into Q2 and finished only 11 seconds off the points in the clear worst car on the grid

I genuinely don't know where that Mercedes pace came from but I'm going for them. Could easily have been 2014 - 20!
