Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Qatar 2024

Post by Londoner »

1. Sauber. Points at long last!

2. Pierre Gasly. A 5th place out of nowhere!

Hi everyone! I missed posting here the last two rounds so I'm happy to be back.

1. Zhou Guanyu: A great drive to 4 points. What a way to send of a woeful season for Sauber.

2. Pierre Gasly: Held of Sainz for 5th place. he's been solid the last few races and is taking advantage of Alpine's late-season uptick in pace.

Zhou then Gasly.
It's just unbelievable...that Formula 1 could be such a ridiculous melange of idiots.

Zhou Guanyu: Points! His best weekend in F1, nice to have a good result for Sauber.

Has to be Abbi Pulling for winning the Formula Academy title.

Oh, this is for F1? Ditto what others above have said.

1. Zhou Guan- no. In actuality, I'm giving it to Sauber. For finally getting points, and being the only good part of the race, besides...

2. Pierre Gasly - for getting P5 (before a pending Piastri penalty?) in that Alpine. He can still get that top 10 standings finish. Go, my boy!

Rest of the race was shite.

1. Zhou GOATyu -
2. Sauber - Depending on what kind of penalties get handed out after the race (because who even knows anymore what is happening), they might walk away with a double points finish, and a very deserved one at that.

1- Sauber- Points on merit- seemed to be the only team in the race who didn't have a driver messing up at some stage.Zhou in 8th and I think Bottas won't be 23rd now- I think this will mean 22nd!!

2 Gasly. Ocon might be benched for Abu Dhabi while he keeps raking in the points!!

Sauber: This was one of their best weekends last year when they finished 8th and 9th and it was easily their best this year too (albeit that’s a very low bar). Let’s not forget that both cars got out of Q1 and qualified very well so it’s not like they didn’t deserve it and the way Zhou looked so comfortable after the SC was very impressive, I’m just glad they won’t be going pointless after all.

Gasly: Very much the number 1 driver at Alpine now, his impressive late surge continues and he might be fancying his chances in 2025.

Zhou 1st and Gasly 2nd.

Since Gasly has posted some pretty decent performances earlier this year, I think Zhou Guanyu had the most improbable result today.

Zhou Guanyu: Averted a potential repeat of 10 years ago for Sauber.

Funny how, just like Felipe Nasr in 2016, he saved Sauber's bacon in his penultimate race for them and potentially of his F1 career!

HM to Gasly, Alpine back ahead in the battle for 6th in the CC with one race to go....

HM also to Bottas, still no points, but at least he's not going to be dead last on countback now.
