Re: Ponderbox
Perhaps the UK had a similar version of the regs the US adopted not long after? In the US, only one entity could be sponsored by a cigarette brand. Its why famously Ferrari had to drop their Marlboro logos, while "Marlboro Team Penske" did not. Winston went from sponsoring NASCAR, NHRA, a...

Re: Ponderbox
Was watching the '94 British GP some time ago and noticed a big ol Marlboro sign facing down the hangar straight despite tobacco advertising being a no-no (I assume anyway, all the other cars had their stuff censored), what's the deal?

Re: Reject of the Race - Belgium 2024
Was Alonso always on a one-stopper though or did they change from a two stop mid-race? I think that's the critical point more than anything.
Takes a lot for me to feel sympathy for Russell but this certainly is that lot. Terrible shame for him.

I'd be happy enough to jointly give it to Lance and Kevin for their haplessness completely destroying RB's race within a lap. Hm- HRH Lewis Hamilton. Lucked into a points position thanks to the safety car. Otherwise it would be another dreadful weekend. Yeah I don't think Lewis drove terribly well, ...

I believe the sprinklers are only in the short version (from the start/finish straight drivers must turn right to Mistral straight) of the circuit. Yes! Mandate tyre changes in the middle of each lap for the variable conditions! Yes! How soon are you expecting these races to happen? You may want to...

I am quite surprised that Alonso signed up with Aston Martin when there might still have been a chance of a seat at Mercedes or Red Bull. I suppose he's gambling on their continued investment and development getting them the top team status they're aiming for, and decided this was the best bet for ...

Re: Hamilton to Ferrari in 2025?
The only big name driver out of contract in 2025 is Alonso - however, whilst Alonso has remained competitive so far, he would be 44 years old in 2025. Time is not on Alonso's side, and if Mercedes want another driver to replace Hamilton, I expect they'd want a driver for the long term. Sainz might ...

Liberty Media has talked about having more street circuits as part of the idea of using the race as a "tent pole" event, which supports other events taking place alongside it (e.g. music concerts) - in which case, it makes sense to have those races in a city that has the infrastructure to...

If it's a half street/half permo affair like Melbourne or Montreal I probably wouldn't mind that much.
