Nothing remotely infinitely improbable occured.
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Bahrain 2024
Nothing worthy of the award this time in my opinion.

Yeah it would have to be Lance Stroll. Bumped off and it wasn't his fault, and gave a bad-strategy Alonso a run for his money.
Otherwise, there was obviously lots of other candidates. I just don't remember any of them.

Sainz for me - two ballsy passes on his teammate and gibing the 2nd Red Bull a run for its money - I knew he'd be determined to show Ferrari they're making a mistake letting him go!

I can't say I found anything actually improbable here, but Sainz did impress against Leclerc and maybe set Ferrari up for a bit of buyer's remorse in 2025.

Lance Stroll for scoring a point after dropping to last. Honorable mention to Zhou for doing better than I expected from Sauber.

Nothing outwardly improbable for an award I suppose. I’ll say Sainz for having the most interesting moves of the race from what I recall.
I can’t remember the specifics because I payed about 40% attention but Stroll spun like… really early with uhhhh it was Hulkenberg right? Not sure who’s at fault but honestly I don’t really care first impressions matter and my first impression for both of these drivers was them failing. I’m rambling, post ends here.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Bahrain 2024
The crux of the IIDOTR aware is the question, "where did that come from?"
There is only one nomination:
1. Lance Stroll. Seriously, where did her come from? Stroll is known for being Mercurial. He's nowhere or he's brilliant. is this the firs time we've seen a quite, consistent drive to points from him? If so, everyone should be afraid.
HM. Unless I'm mistaken, I did not hear that irritating 'neeeyoum' sound effect when replays were shown. Please let me be right.

Stroll had a good race after a bad start.

1) Stroll - can't complain at that recovery from a shunt he didn't cause.
2) The Wind - changed the track lines to the extent drivers were genuinely challenged. Watching Russell and LeClerc near the drag strip gave us some racing and an indication of where the talent lies

I'm gonna say Haas as a shout out.
They actually seemed to get on top of their tire woes. Magnussen stopped the RBs from overtaking him and managed his tires well. Bodes well for the team.
But it has to be Stroll. Solid race to get into the points.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Bahrain 2024
I guess that those two are probably the best nominations - Stroll's recovery to finish in the points did seem unlikely, given the time he lost after that crash, whilst given the build-up that they had to this race, Haas put in a better performance than many expected of them.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Bahrain 2024
Lance Stroll: A good recovery to the points given he was punted off at the first corner and lost so much time
Haas: We expected them to comfortably be the slowest car but they got a car into Q3 and both of them escaped Q1. Hulk even beat the Alpine’s despite a broken front wing
HM: Carlos Sainz: Sainz needs a big season to impress potential employers after getting the chop at Ferrari and this was a great start. Assertive passing moves on his teammate and Russell and was the only guy who remotely kept one of the Red Bull’s honest
