What you have to bear in mind there though is the poor signal that many households can get with some digital channels. My house is affected because the church causes a 'shadow' for the signal, which means we have to point it in the other direction, picking up a weaker transmission from a mast further away, consequently channels like BBC 4, ITV4, FilmFour, the BBC Red Button, etc are terribly bad.

It's the one problem with digital, you either get a perfect reception, or bugger all...but that's a discussion for another place and another time!

I don't have any red button service due to my shocking UPC connection.

On Freeview the red button has reduced to 1 channel (301), to allow for HD, I think, but they could probably switch 302 back on or use the CBBC/CBeebies red button options. They've done that before.

So 303-305 are now the HD channels?
I'de be disappointed if thats the case, loved how they were all in use during the Olympics

So you live in the middle of nowhere? Seriously, I don't know about Britain but in Finland the only households that need a dish are those located LITERALLY in the middle of nowhere. In every city/town/village, we get our digital channels via cable.

And MTV3 who have the broadcasting rights to F1 in Finland has avoided problems like this by sticking F1 to the MAX paychannel. They showed the entire race, breaks and all with no Advertisments and even showed a 1-hour highlights reel on the free MTV3 channel.

You Brits oughta take a tip or two from Finland.

No I'm talking about the terrestrial digital service, known in the UK as Freeview (because, by and large, it's free!). Naturally if we were paying a subscription to Sky, Virgin, BT or whoever then yeah we'd have a dish or cable and superb reception, but as it is we're getting digital through our regular aerial, something that will become the norm in a year or two when analogue (in other words how TV used to be) across the entire country will be switched off. The only TV you'll be able to pick up will be digital.

Also bear in mind DonTirri that supplying impeccable TV reception to a population of some 5 million is remarkably easier than a population of 65 million that is densely populated and often surrounded by large buildings or landforms that create 'shadows' in the coverage area.

I actually did once write a fake complaint letter to the BBC because I was fed up of everyone complaining every week about Top Gear.
Basically it was a complaint to all the complaints. I then went on to say that I was upset that Top Gear is only on for 1 hour not 3.
Also go on the BBC complaints page, they give examples, and some look like they were written by the brain dead.

Which is why I believe Shawn of the dead should be re catagorized as a social documentary

It would have been live and held back half an hour then, if they explicitly said it was live. You absolutely cannot broadcast a pre-recorded show on the BBC and claim that it is live - there would be sackings, and this was certainly the case by 2009.
