Where would you want a French GP to be held?

I really hope if we go to Paris that we drop Valencia. Too many street circuits are being suggested as new tracks when (in my opioion) Formula 1 cars do not suit them. Although I don't want to see another Tilke drome again, bring in a new designer!

Street circuits are good if they are designed properly...like Townsville Circuit in AUS. It could probably give Adelaide a run for its money.
I am no circuit designer tho. So that Paris GP thing may well be utter crap. And don't go to Pau...overtaking would be impossible.

I think it's about 3.65 miles long, so falls within the FIA's guidelines for the length of F1 circuits, and has 3 straights of 0.5 miles or more.

I LOVE Charade and it's a pity it'll never be possible to host a race there again for safety reasons. I played simulations of it in some F1 games and loved every turn. No-one's done a good version of it in the more recent games, or am I very much mistaken? Rouen is also fantastic, but I could never complete a race on it without crashing.

When the French Grand Prix went to Magny-Cours in 1991, it was seens as a Mitterand-inspired 'political' move for 5 years, and everyone assumed we'd be back at Paul Ricard in 1996. To think - it could have happened back then as the FIA's standard for facilities weren't as high (this was before the days of zillion dollar Tilkedromes).

The French Grand Prix Should be held in Montreal. That would then free up a Canadian GP at Ste. Jovite or Mosport. Honestly, the only track in France capable of staging an entertaining Grand Prix is too close to Monaco, and the evil,greedy troll would never let that happen.

Does anyone have the plans of the Versailles Grand Prix that was suggested? Living quite close, I think it would be perfect if it runs the right way. Alternatively, I could try getting a map of it and drawing how I would make it?

Personally, I'm surprised that Bernie hasn't insisted that one of France's overseas departments or territories host the revived French grand prix. Places like say, French Guiana, Martinique, or French Polynesia. Besides, we all know that only the pathetically rich go to France these days. In order to stay relevant, Bernie's F1 needs to cater to the disgustingly rich, the kind of people that would fly to Tahiti on a whim in their own private jets in order to stand around the Ferraris on the grid and act like they somehow belong there.

Anyway, I definitely agree with bringing back Rouen. I've done many a lap of it in Rfactor, myself. But barring that, how about racing on the old public roads east of Le Mans that made up the course of the 1906 French Grand Prix? Those were the days... temporary roads made of wooden planks, on-board mechanics, do it yourself tire changes, and maximum weight limits for the cars. That was one of the first races where you undid a single nut to remove the wheel to complete a tyre change. And over a century later, Renault still haven't quite mastered the art of tightening the nut after the change...
