my rejectful karting outing....

Post by WeirdKerr »

So today i decided to go actual go karting (as opposed to playing a racing game) and went to my now relocated local kart track following the brief saftey and instructions i was off out in kart number 18 and managed to get 18 laps in as follows

(lap 1) 0:47.308 (2)0:48.06 (3) 0:48.608 (4) 0:47.433 (5) 0:46.372 (6) 0:49.713 (7) 0:49.338 (8) 0:50.038 (9) 0:50.390 (10) 0:53.061 (11) 0:46.896 (12) 0:48.252 (13) 0:45.573 (14) O:47.004 (15) 0:42.556 (16) 0:43.086 (17) 0:43.124 *(18) 0:42.371

my fastest lap was 13.979 off the lap record for the track

I tried karting once... I retired on the second lap due to an engine problem (they claimed that never happened before)

The first time I ever went go-karting I ran into a grass tree on the side of the track and the second time I went go-karting I ran into a tyre wall.
This is a cool spot.

The second time(several years later) i was lapped in a 10 minute run.

I fondly remember my first outing in a Kart. In a 30 minutes run, I lapped everyone else (we were 4) several times...

Last time I went karting, half-way through, I spun, went backwards through a tyre wall and out the other side.

my first time was on a dark indoor track (only the track was enlighted) which wasn't exactly great to make your debut on, i was very slow. I probably did spin a few times, and hit the tyres after crossing the finish line :D

Lots of years between my second time, which was outdoor, although very indoor-style track, but i liked the way the karts drove better. Initially i was pretty slow, got lapped 2 times or so, but i got better, and managed to follow, until i got overconfident and spun :D

The third time has yet to come, i just don't have friends who are interested in these stuff.

My problem is 'late braking', my racing lines are pretty good, but i lose lots of time with being overcoutious.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

One time, I went full speed into a hairpin as my confidence vastly grew.

Hurt a little bit for a couple of minutes. Don't do it!

In another kart outing, I went three wide into an hairpin trying to overtake the leader at the same time both of us overtook a backmarker. The guy in third was right behind me. The leader was focused in overtaking the other guy and both of them didn't left any space in the inside. I ran into the tyres which were just outside the tarmac, next to the apex. Since I felt 2 big blows almost instantly, I imagine that the guy in third crashed into me. It was painful...

I've been 3-a-breast, I lost out. This was a couple of years ago and I was referred to as the crap F1 driver who always crashes/Sutil. Being referred to as Sutil is a compliment for my standards.

Around 4-5 years ago I used to go out to the only kart track in Jamaica and drive in a friend of mine's kart. I was a total noob, too scared to go flat out on the straights ,and at the time with little knowledge on anything about racing. The last time I karted was when I crashed into a tyre wall :lol:Don't remember how, but it's been 5 years ,and the astronomical amount of racing games, GT5 ostly i've been playing, coupled with my nice G25 racing wheel, means I am universes beyond that now, just saying. Reject on the track IRL, not a reject in online racing though :)

I'm still a reject in online racing. Ask Ed24, we're in the same online league, he's very quick though.

My total so far in GT5, 3 races, 1 in a Le Mans Series, 1 in a La Sarthe endurance race in LMP's, and 1 in F1 cars at Monaco full distance. Took pole in the La Sarthe race, came 5th, came 2nd in the Moanco race after a crash cost me victory, and 7th in my Le Mans Series race after starting dead last in 13th. Fastest laps in all 3 of those races :D
