The rumours going around are indeed true. There will be a safety car option in Codemaster's F1 2011 game. First time since F1 1999 I believe there has been one in an F1 game.

Is it really that long? Seems surprising given that there were several other F1 simulations (the EA Sports and Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix series), and I would have thought that they might have featured a safety car.
Anyway, on another note, I think that as this particular topic relates to a Formula 1 game, rather than the actual sport itself, that this thread might well be better suited to the PM forum.

Good to hear, though hope it doesnt come at the expense of putting up with the same bugs as F1 2010. Or worse, new ones as well

I don't know about F1 2000 (by Sony), but F1 2001 for the PS1 definitely had a SC feature (I've got the game and it appeared on a few occasions). But there's been no SC in any game since.
