Karting Suggestions and Permission Request

Post by vandepoeltergeist »

Hello everyone,

In an attempt channel my inner Inoue (minus the pace car incident), I have recently entered a 14 hour/500 mile karting race with some friends who are also avid F1 Rejects fans. In discussing possible team names, we decided that we wanted to honor the F1 Rejects website by naming out team "F1Rejects.com Racing" or something of that nature. However, in order to prevent a Heidfeldian lawsuit from the creators, we would like to formally request permission from Jamie and Enoch to borrow the F1 Rejects name for a weekend of mediocre racing. We promise to do our best to carry on the F1 Rejects traditions of mediocre talent and questionable driving.

However, we feel as though we are doing the website and all of the illustrious drivers featured on it a great disservice by not paying tribute to some of the most notable rejects in history by including them in our name. So, does anyone have any suggestions for possible additions to our team name? (ex: F1Rejects.com Group Lotus Simtek, Pacific Mastercard Lola F1Rejects.com Racing, etc. )
It may seem odd, but we figured it would be a good way spread the word of F1 Rejects, poke fun at the ever-growing team names in F1, and show our competition that we'll most likely be heading straight for the back! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks!

well you've got the permission of the unofficial F1rejects.com racing team at least (and jenoch didn't seem to have trouble with that, although we haven't nearly achieved anything other than vague plans)

i think that 'life racing engines' is a good name, i guess no serious racing team even wants to be involved with that name :D

Hey guys,

I'm part of the driver lineup for this event and as vandepoeltergeist said, we are excited to represent the F1rejects.com brand in our upcoming race, with approval, of course.

Life Racing Engines...that is a great name, right there! As a Subaru owner, I am definitely a fan of their years with Coloni. A great example of futility. Keep 'em coming!

How about adding nicknames according to your driving style? For example, if your name in John Smith and you're desperately slow and only there because of your money, you could enter as John "Giovanni Lavaggi" Smith.

Surely John"ny Carwash" Smith would be better?

So, after much debate, we have selected Team F1rejects.com / Life Racing Engines as our team name. This 14-hour karting race is tonight and we are very excited to represent the brand. We will try to update this thread every now and then to keep you all posted on our progress.

Nice name

Good luck, and see if you can't pull a "What is Deletraz doing?" moment

Update from our endurance race: it's 8:40 p.m. on the East Coast in the States, we're 45 minutes through our 14-hour event and currently running 11th. One spot out of the points. And no Deletraz or Inoue moments as of yet, haha. Keep checking for updates!

I realized that we failed to update you all on our race finish. We ended up 6th out of 23 cars. In true F1 Rejects fashion, however, we were a solid 21 laps behind the winning team. Thank you all for your support, and we certainly look forward to bringing Team F1rejects.com / Life Racing Engines to the karting track once again! :)

Good job! One step closer to unrejectification, yet a ridiculous number of laps down :D
