F1 Rejects Community - Wizzie needs YOU!

Post by TomWazzleshaw »

Hello to all forum visitors.

As part of our IST assignment, TMLW and myself are planning to making a short video tribute to Dan Wheldon (As much as I would want to do one for Marco Simoncelli as well, the plan was made before he was killed and the race is, technically, set the day before he died  ) and as part of it, I would very much appreciate it if I could get several audio clips of people on here talking about Dan as part of that tribute. It can be as short as a few seconds or several minutes (Although for editing purposes only a few seconds of said clip would be used anyway) and while time isn't of the essence, I would very much appreciate it if I can get the clips within the next 2 weeks. You can either upload them to a website or email them to me at [email protected]. Thank you all in advance and I promise the coverage of the Fedex 100 will be the single greatest, or most rejectful, creation in history.

Do you want us to be talking about the high points of his career, or your personal reaction to that fateful day in Las Vegas? Hopefully, I (might) be able to contribute, should I get some free time and sort out my phone.

Either is fine. If you're doing the former I'ld prefer either when he won the IndyCar championship or the 2005 Indy 500.

I'd record something if I could actually figure out how my microphone works.

On the other hand, I know very well how my microphone works, but I'm not sure I'd have anything particularly relevant or insightful to say. The last time I had the chance to watch Indy/CART racing, Juan Pablo Montoya was strolling to the CART title and Greg Moore was still alive.

I would, but I just sound total crud on a microphone. Besides, the fact is I have way too much to say, I'll probably end up with over 15 minutes of stuff to give you, and that'll probably give a headache trying to find the best part!

Love the idea though, good job Wizzie!

Project update:

As much as I would have loved to include voice clippings, I soon discovered that during the video editing phase that, rather than add to the depth of the video, it'ld actually detract from it so I ended up with a finished product which looks something like this.

Very good mate. Nice music and some great shots. Glad you didn't put his fatal crash in there.

Superb Wizzie, really really good, probably the best tribute to Dan out there at the moment. Loved the bit at the end too, that was very well done.

Amazing tribute Wizzie, very fitting for a driver of his calibre.
I like the way Snrub thinks!
