Driver of the year: Vettel (he says through gritted teeth!)
Team of the year: Red Bull (as they've ironed out all their niggling faults from 2009 and 2010)
Reject of the year: Williams
Race of the year: China (I always try to go for great dry races over ones which are just good becuase they're at least partially wet)
Worst race of the year: Valencia, though I was sort of tempted to say India.
Deadbeat teammate of the year: Mark Webber
Most improved driver of the year: Vitaly Petrov
Rookie of the year: Paul Di Resta
Most anonymous driver of the year: Custard Man
Epic fail of the year: The ongoing Hamilton-Massa clashes.

F1 AWARDS
-Driver of the year: I'm gonna be different and say Fernando Alonso. Yes, Button has the upper hand over Hamilton. Yes, Vettel dominated the season with ease. But that Ferrari F150 or whatever it's called was an absolute dog compared to the MP-4-26 and the RB7.

-Team of the year: Force India. At the beginning of the year people said they would be struggling for points. Now they are the 5th best team, comfortably beating Renault (though just missing 5th position by 4 points) and catching up to
Mercedes.

-Reject of the year: Williams. 5 points from this season alone. If things don't improve 2012 might be their final year.

-Race of the year: Canada. We had the potential for a Sauber podium, a driver who went to last twice and STILL wound up winning, and at one point an HRT near the points. Easily the best race of the season.

-Worst race of the year: Turkey. At least I remember the race at Valencia because it was so boring. This year I forgot there was a race at Turkey. I might be one of the few saying this but honestly I won't miss Istanbul. It might be a great track to drive on but it never had the close racing we get at Canada or even China and Malaysia.

-Deadbeat teammate of the year: 3 way tie between Felipe Massa, Mark Webber, and Lewis Hamilton. Massa isn't the same after what happened in 2009, and it shows sadly (as he is one of my favorite drivers). Webber's win, while needed, really only happened because Vettel's car might have been dying (conspiracy theorists stand up). As for Hamilton, I said it before; he needs to get off the track for a year as his personal life is getting in the way of his driving and until Abu Dhabi he was constantly getting into crashes. Him going on Sabbatical will probably never happen, but if he were to do it I think he would be a better driver.

Most improved driver of the year: Vitaly Petrov. Last year he was causing avoidable accidents. This year he is showing speed in a car that might be better suited as a garden planter.

Rookie of the year: Paul di Resta. The results are what counts; Perez is in a close 2nd however.

Most anonymous driver of the year: Timo Glock. While every driver has been seen for whatever reason, I can't say the same thing about Mr. Glock. Which is too bad because I think he deserves a better car as personally, I think he's one of the best drivers on the grid.

Epic fail of the year: Lewis Hamilton at Monaco. First you barge into Massa for no real reason, then you barge into Maldonado thinking you're Senna, and then have the gall to go to complain to the Stewards about their decision to (rightfully) punish you for your terrible driving. Playing the race card has no place in Motorsports, and honestly, I do wish Hamilton received the 6 race ban instead of what I think are just slaps on the wrist.

Drive of the year: Jenson Button at Canada.

Might I suggest a "Most anonymous forum member of the year" award? Would that go to me?

Ah well, maybe next year I'll steal away an award. 3rd year's the charm.

Well, I find that I can very well speak of every person or thing regarding whatever is being discussed, in an equal and unbiased way, and without being so ignorant. For example, you say Ide was the worst driver ever, I say he had zero testing or experience, and really couldn't do any better. You say Webber is a useless second driver, I say it's because of the very large bias towards fingerboy in that team regarding car development, and everything else, for that matter, as well as demotivation because of it all, same applies to Massa.

i could go on and on.

F1 Awards
Driver of the year: Sebastian Vettel - Hate to say it, but my mum keeps saying "has he won the race yet" every race...
Team of the year: Red Bull - see above
Reject of the year: Felipe Massa - Teammate wins races, he doesn't make past 5th place.
Race of the year: Canada... duh! I sound like a nationalist idiot
Worst race of the year: Europe...
Deadbeat teammate: Felipe Massa
Most improved driver of the year: Adrian Sutil, beat Petrov consistently and showed Force India the way
Rookie of the year: Sergio Perez, really impressed me in the crappy Sauber
Most anonymous driver of the year: My head's saying Felipe Massa but I'm giving this one towards Mark Webber for being on the same team as Vettel and hardly gets any attention in the paddock.
Epic fail of the year: HRT's double DNQ at Australia
Drive of the year: Say what you want, but it's Mark Webber's 3rd place performance in China from 18th place (Honourable mention goes to Button in Canada, but I think his status was elevated due to him taking victory on the last lap)

It showed that A) Sutil CAN lead a team and B) He constantly schooled his rookie teammate and C) The fact that Petrov's car was so slow it compared to a Mastercard Lola.

F1 AWARDS
Driver of the year: Sebastian Vettel - Not much needs to be said, he tore the field to shreds.
Team of the year: Red Bull Racing - The car was virtually unbeatable, even when the KERS failed. The team was always great in the pit line. When compared with Red Bull, their performance made most other outfits look silly.
Reject of the year: Williams F1 - Someone needs to buy the team and put Frank out of his misery.
Race of the year: China - Out of all the races I probably enjoyed this one the most. After two races where Vettel looked seemingly impossible to compete with, all of a sudden we're watching a race that for a brief moment, looked as though Nico Rosberg might have a shot at winning. And Mark Webber also put in a brilliant drive. The fact the Lewis took the top step didn't hurt either.
Worst race of the year: Europe - I almost forgot the race even took place.
Deadbeat teammate of the year: Massa - Eyebrows stomped on him. Kubica is going to have a seat at Ferrari in 2013, but not before Felipe gets popped by Lewis a few more times on his way out the door.
Most improved driver of the year: Algersaurus - I don't care much for Jaime, but after quadrupling his points haul from the previous year, beating his teammate, and finishing 4 positions higher the drivers championship, I think he earned the nod.
Rookie of the year: Di Resta - I can't wait to watch this kid next year.
Most anonymous driver of the year: Either Virgin driver, I don't remember their names. Didn't one spin in the pit lane?
Epic fail of the year: Massa's Indian GP weekend. Breaks the car in qualifying, runs into Lewis and earns himself a drive through, breaks car the the race the same way.
Drive of the year: There were a lot of really impressive drives this year. I have to call a tie between Webber / China and Button / Canada.

I only have time for one nomination and that's for caption of the year. If this doesn't win, I'll be very surprised.

So, I haven't put in any nominations yet, but I should probably have done. Mainly, I refrain from doing so because I never trust my judgement enough to make accurate awards, which is why I usually stay out of the Predicament Predictions unless it's to make joke predictions involving Hugo Häkkinen and Gina Maria Schumacher.

But here goes...

Driver of the year: The Tediously Inevitable Finger, on merit. But here's a "highly commended" nomination for Heikki Kovalainen. Two years in rejectful back-of-the-field machinery, when this year's really should have been better, and he's still smiling, still committed to the project and a far more respected driver than he was after the McLaren debacle. Thing is, if Fondmetal Team Malaysia end up as front-runners, will the Fisichellitis bite again?
Team of the year: Another nomination for Force India, mainly because I expected that breeze block of a car to end up where Williams did, maybe lower. Also, the team of grid girls from the Japanese Grand Prix.
Reject of the year: Williams. At the risk of repeating myself, that car had a sexy rear end and I expected it to end up where Force India did. Ye gods, it's painful watching them slide ever further backwards. As has been said elsewhere on the forum, is this really the team that was taking everyone to the cleaners, the way Red Bull are doing now, soon after I started watching F1?
Race of the year: Hard to disagree with those who say it was Canada. If every race was like that, then I'd... NO, Bernie, you are NOT putting sprinklers on all the tracks!
Worst race of the year: Valenczzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

...zzzzzzwha... what... oi! You bathpluggers! I was in the middle of having very naughty dreams about Natacha Gachnang and you had to wake me up. Right, I suppose I'd better put in more nominations...
Deadbeat teammate of the year: "Well, 'ow you say, the car was very slow, and I, ah, have problems with the power steering..." Get lost. Now. Bring in Daniel Ricciardo, Custard, Karun Chandhok, anyone but another season of him!
Most improved driver of the year: Givin' it up on da west side innit for DJ Alg*scratch*Alg*scratch*Alg*scratch*Alguersaurus! He seemed to turn himself from dead cert for the sack to next in line to be The Finger's bootboy almost overnight.
Rookie of the year: Sergio Pérez on performance, especially in knowing when he was and wasn't fit after that Monaco crash. I couldn't go for Paul di Resta, though he scored more points, because... he just strikes me as being a very young Nigel Mansell with a Scottish accent. "And now, Lee McKenzie is with Paul di Resta..." No! Not that monotonic drone again! Give him a charisma injection, quick! Also, a special nomination to Custard for the funniest moment of the year in Hungary.
Most anonymous driver of the year: No, not Timo Glock, because I was always on the lookout for his results, and he's just as good as The Finger, don't you know. Although I think he actually means "put Seb in my car and see if he can get any more out of it, which I doubt." I suppose the most anonymous driver would be anyone who drove in free practice but I never noticed and never knew he was driving, which means I can't name any names because I don't know who they are.
Epic fail of the year: nominations go to the Custard pit entry in Hungary, and Karun Chandhok crashing within the first minute or so of the season's first practice session. But it goes to The Champion. Why? Canada. "Right, I'm going to frighten him off the road and win this race!" "Er, nein, Jenson, I don't think you will..." Mind that kerb, Serb... "Ach! Plug of the bath, he has frightened me off the road!"
Drive of the year: Kamui Kobayashi's drive to fifth at Monaco before he and his team slid towards mediocrity. He did it, something which is becoming a rarity with the top four teams locking out the top eight positions: unrejectification!

FORUM AWARDS
Forum member of the year: Everyone who has voted for me. But also Mario, for his in-depth technical explanations. I don't always read them fully, it depends on how much time I have to waste on the forum that day, but I know they're there for future reference and I know I couldn't write those and I'll stick to making facetious comments such as dreaming about Natacha Gachnang, Japanese grid girls, and shameless rip-offs of scenes from Father Ted.
Moderator of the year: Whoever deleted the most spam.
Thread of the year: the thread that sews all of Sebastian Vettel's fingers together so he can no longer make THAT gesture. Also, Jeroen's Flash Fiction about the trials and tribulations of Minardi if they'd got that Mugen engine, or any of those long and rambling "what ifs" that I print out and read while I'm sitting on the khazi.
Post of the year: the one by t3c3jr (or whatever the username is...!) that I quoted in my signature for a while, which was very similar to what Senna said about "if you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver." It was something like "the one sure way to stop racing is to convince the drivers they'll be penalised for attempting it."
Signature of the year: "If you don't stop pointing your finger at me, I'll snap it off and shove it up your arse". Said David Purley to Niki Lauda in 1977, fixed to James1978's posts in 2011. Very appropriate!
Caption of the year: as has just been mentioned, I'm going for the Hamilton/Whitmarsh "CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!" caption.
Avatar of the year: See, this is why I left it so late. I can now nominate nome66's "Murray Walker is excited even by his standards" picture. I would have it blown up to 100 times its size in each dimension, and I would hang it on my house.
Quote of the year: as per the Signature of the year.
Virtual driver of the year: The most scandalously reject and shamelessly rude driver ever, Giovanni Roda! Why can't we have someone like him in real life? He makes Eddie Irvine look like a nun. I actually read the entire F1 Challenge Championship thread to find out how awful Giovanni Roda was, and I was not disappointed. More of him!
Spambot of the year: I'm staying out of this one, because the spam posts are always deleted before I get to see them. And there's only one team who should ever be promoting spam, and that's Viking Racing. LOVELY SPAM! WONDERFUL SPAM!

And we're done. Now, Natacha, where were we...
James Allen, on his favourite F1 engine of all time:
"...the Life W12, I can't describe the noise to you, but imagine filling your dustbin with nuts and bolts, and then throwing it down the stairs, it was something akin to that!"

Driver of the year - Jenson Button - A truly fantastic season for him. Owned Lewis at the majority of the GP's and was a strategic wizard. Knows the Pirelli's apparently inside out.
Team of the year - Red Bull - Few technical issues in a ultra fast car, few manage to put together a package like that. Good pit stops and decent strategy.
Reject of the year - Williams - Absolutely horrible.
Race of the year: Canada - My favourite circuit.
Most improved driver of the year - Vitaly Pretov - kept his Lada on the road.
Rookie of the year - Paul di Resta - Man oh man is this guy going to be great one day.

They should have renamed the team Lada for the second half of the season, they'd have an excuse for the shite performances then.
I like the way Snrub thinks!

Driver of the year: This season would have been more exciting if Sebastian Vettel was not winning everything and if the teams at the back of the grid were faster, So I will go for Jenson Button as he did outperform Hamilton and did look like the driver to beat in most races (if you ignore the finger...)
Team of the year: The team of grid girls from the Japanese GP as Dinizintheoven said, oh a F1 team... er well I would go for Force India as they did seem to be the only team that raced well all season.
Reject of the year: Williams. 5 Points, or in any old F1 money sytem zero points is just pathetic. The Renault engine should help them but I have a feeling that Caterham F1 will be the team they will be battling... I do hope Rubens is driving for them next year, I can't have two drivers in the field that are older then me.
Race of the year: Canada, like I have to write a 10 page essay on why it was the best race of the year.
Worst race of the year: Valenca, so dull I did fall asleep twice...
Deadbeat teammate of the year: Felipe Massa, it's time to hang your helmet up!
Most improved driver of the year: I would give it to DJ Westwood, er I mean Jamie Alguersaui.
Rookie of the year: Sergio Pérez as he did have some moments.
Most anonymous driver of the year: Nick Heidfeld, so anomymous, I didn't realise that he had be replaced.
Epic fail of the year: Thinking about it, I will go with the Cosworth V8, it looked underpowered, slow and painful. They need more power... honourable mention to Karun Chandhok for beig useless in the first practice session...
Drive of the year: Kamui Kobayashi in Canada. I look forward to the day he becomes the first Japanese driver on the 2nd step of the podium.

F1 AWARDS
Driver of the year: Sebastian Vettel, as much as it pains me to say it.
Team of the year: Red Bull Racing...ditto above

Race of the year: I'd go with Canada
Worst race of the year: Valencia. Just awful.
Deadbeat teammate of the year: Either Trulli or Massa. Both were quite useless.
Most improved driver of the year: Must go to Alguersuari.
Rookie of the year: Paul Di Resta
Most anonymous driver of the year: Pastor Maldonado.
Epic fail of the year: The Williams FW33
Drive of the year: Yeah, I'll go with Button

Forum member of the year: Uhh, Mario I guess for his insight. Or dinizintheoven, for obvious (and often hilarious reasons)
Moderator of the year: All of them (not meant to be TOO sycophantic)
