Round 1 Of The FIA 1992 Formula 1 Season at Kyalami

Qualifying Results
Riccardo Patrese Managed to take his Williams into Pole Position Ahead of Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell. But one of the biggest surprises is the Larrousse of Bertrand Gachot getting into 4th place. Martin Brundle in 5th, Gerhard Berger disappointing in his McLaren is in 6th. A good Result for Michael Schumacher in 7th in his Benetton and Jean Alesi in 8th. Another surprise is that the other 17 drivers failed to get within 107% of the Pole Position time however only Aguri Suzuki in the Footwork, Paul Belmondo in the March and A disappointing result for the Jordan Racing team with Mauricio Gugelmin not qualifying because they were the slowest 3 of all of the drivers.

Race Results
In a amazing result for Lotus. Mika Hakkinen grabbed his first win in F1. Joining him on the podium was Pierluigi Martini and Martin Brundle. The other point scorers were Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Gerhard Berger. A nightmare race for Larrousse as Gachot and Katayama had Tire Busts on lap 2. Pole Sitter Riccardo Patrese had a accident at Turn 3 on lap 20.

First of all, welcome to the forum.

Secondly, if you put the tyre pressures for the car to the lower end of the scale (I.e lower end of the 'medium' band rather than the high end of it) the chances of a puncture are reduced greatly. The drivers won't complain about the pressures being off (from memory) as it's still in the same band. It's a little trick I use whenever I play GPM2 :)

Welcome!

This season might be fun, with a Lotus and a Dallara on the podium already!

The tyres on both cars burst on the same lap? I see some conspiracy theories developing!

And welcome to the forum.

More fun than the real 1992 season (and I'm a fan of Our Nige), but where is Andrea Moda?

I just love the random results of GPM2, which give reject teams like Forti or Pacific podiums.

I'll follow this one here, as we need way more GPM2 stories.

I think the original version may be based on 1995, so you only get 13 teams, that's my theory anyway.

So you cut the 3 worst teams that year, Fondmetal, Brabham and Andrea Moda.

Yep, the limit is 13 teams, so I had to cut the three worst-performing teams from this year when I made this mod. Nothing like 1989 and 1990 though when I had to leave seven teams out...
