Commission Response to Mr Lindsay's Comments

The Commission is not banning free speech. Drivers and team members are entitled to speak their mind provided they don't break Article 15.4, section C.
However, the proposed boycott breaks a more fundamental rule. Once a team has announced their intention to compete in all races, as Scuderia Alitalia did when they entered the Round of the United Kingdom, then they must compete in all races, unless they have a good reason not to. Protesting against the participation of a certain driver is not a good enough reason to not compete. As a result, if Scuderia Alitalia do not intend to compete at the Surfers SuperPrix because of Mr Melrose's participation, then penalties must be faced.

Something's just occurred to me. So far, whoever has won race one on any given weekend has ALWAYS gone on to win the round.

Morgan can't race in the F3RWRS (the Italian GP was his 10th start), so you'll have an empty seat unless you can hire someone. Katayama can race at China, but the Surfers SuperPrix is on the same weekend as the F2 Canadian GP, so Katayama can only race at one of them.

Ragnar Larsen will be hunting for a seat, as it is rumoured he is about to be dropped from the Scuderia Alitalia Giovanile Squadra at the end of this season...

Autosport wrote:Josh Carlisle in line for Falik Arrows Junior seat?

Rumours have circulated today suggesting that Josh Carlisle, a 17 year old English driver from Cheltenham, is potentially in line to seal a temporary move to the F3RWRS Falik Arrows Junior team. Carlisle has had a fairly strong motorsport career so far, having worked his way through karting championships in his native Britain, he went out on a limb to race for two years in German Formula Ford in 2012 and 2013, with some success, including a handful of podium finishes and one race win at Oschersleben. Since finishing 5th in the championship in 2013, Carlisle has been looking for a race drive and the vacancy at Falik Arrows Juniors might just be his chance.

The shrewd Prince Falik wasted no time in snapping up Josh Carlisle for the rest of the season with an option for the 2015 season. Falik Arrows required a driver since Yuko Katayama was promoted to the F2RWRS team and Sani Morgan was refused a seat due to him starting 10 races in F2RWRS, although personally he would have struggled in F3RWRS. It is rumoured that Akinjide Ezerioha seat could be free before the end of the season too due to Ezeriohas poor results compared to Katayamas.

*snoring* Huh, what? Is it over yet?

Most of the position changes can be explained by two simple things: Positions lost were mostly because of running wide at the hairping, and positions gained were by picking up the scraps. Every now and then, someone would make a good pass there, but it was the only place where anything happened. At all. Honourable mentions to Jimenez for scoring a point, and Pazzini for being ridiculously brave at the hairpin and pulling it off every single time. After Christopherson threw it off the road there on lap 2, Kazama bolted, and everyone else was left in her dust.

Just as bad as race 1. It was soon apparent that the top drivers would get 6 chances to move forward - the start, and turn 14 every lap. Christopherson Jr was very aggressive at every chance and managed to get to 9th, while drivers like Swerts, Cameron, Zimmer, Kazama and Albertini were calmer, doing enough to stay out of the back 6. Shane Walsh wasn't calm enough, running into Cavalcanti at the hairpin, with Torbani doing the same to Hawkin a lap later. Lilly and Molinaro collided on lap 4. Up front, Lamberigts held off Donegro, with Austin taking third.

I'll post race 3 tomorrow, which means you have until then to finalise your lineups for Surfers (specifically whether Katayama will race for Falik and Mondlane for Porto Wine. Everyone else should be fine). I also want to know whether you want it to be worth double points. I'll spoil it now, because after race 3 here, with regular points there will only be two drivers in it and the teams championship is wrapped up, while with double points there's four drivers and two for the teams.

Naturally I want regular points ;)

How long is the race though, because if it's significantly longer than other races, with a pitstop or whatever, then there might be a case for double points.

Also, let's never go back to China.

And in this virtual world, how many F1RWRS rounds are there after the Superprix? If either Martin McFry or Eff One Jnr do well, for example, would I have a chance to promote them before the superlicence rules kick in?

The race is 45 minutes long (more than twice as long as races 1 & 3 in a regular weekend), and by my calculations it should be a brilliant strategy race, because normally the cars would have to two-stop to get home, but a one-stopper might just be possible.

I think that Japan might be afterwards, or if not then it's just Indy.

So I might be able to slip one of them in before the season's end?

Round 6 - Shanghai - Race 3

1st: Jack Christopherson Jr (Christopherson): 20:34.02 (9 laps)
2nd: Tomo Kazama (Prospec): +1.37
3rd: Gianluigi Pazzini (Alitalia): +3.40
4th: Dorien Lamberigts (Lotus): +5.53
5th: Dan Greenlaw (ZombieKart): +5.96
6th: Carter Simpson (ZimSport): +7.21
7th: Renaldo Jimenez (JLD): +9.00
8th: Michael Cameron (Prospec): +13.25
9th: Ryan Zimmer (ZimSport): +15.48
10th: Josh Carlisle (Falik): +25.64
11th: Alberto Donegro (Tociclao): +32.53
12th: Harry Austin (MA-Junior): +47.39
13th: Alessandro Lucarelli (Alitalia): +47.48
14th: Hillary King (Team Phoenix): +49.01
15th: Samora Mondlane (Porto Wine): +52.39
16th: Eric Swerts (Jones): +54.03
17th: Ragnar Larsen (Lotus): +58.87
18th: Joe Harmsky (Shonan): +1:04.53
19th: Cesar Vialpondo (Team Phoenix): +1:05.39
20th: Aurelio Bandini (Team Phoenix): +1:13.44
21st: Lorenzo Crescenzi (Christopherson): +1:16.39
22nd: Jean-Vincent Albertini (Albertini): +1:16.81
23rd: Yuri Sokolov (Shonan): +1:23.49
24th: Antonio Reyna-Sanchez (JLD): +1:49.10
Fastest lap: Tomo Kazama (2:13.02)

More snoring. Guess what track won't be on the calendar next year! Christopherson (finally) wins a race from pole, and Kazama took a solid second place. That is literally all that can be said about this race (when no one can get by even in the pit cycle, something is desperately wrong.)

Round 6 - Wrap-Up

Round Winner: Tomo Kazama - 20 points, 1 win, 1 2nd and 2 fastest laps
Round win #3 for the young Japanese driver, which sees her close to 4 points behind Cameron, setting up an exciting inter-team battle at Surfers.

Reject of the Weekend: Shanghai International Circuit
Even the reverse grid was boring. And for a series that usually produces exciting races, this is unacceptable.

Inifinite Improbablity Drive of the Weekend: Dorien Lamberigts
A win in the reverse grid race really isn't that special, but not many actually back it up in race 3 (in fact, ignoring the Norisring, this is the best effort by a race 2 winner in race 3). Deserving of P2 in the round.

That means that Reyna-Sanchez lost 12.122 seconds on average per lap. Wow, that makes Délétraz awesome by comparison

But of course, there is the final fling in Surfers, and I hope I can back up Jack Junior in his chase for the title. It's an outside shot I know, but, I'll do what I can to aid my team-mate.

In a memo to the Commission, Scuderia Alitalia wrote:Due to the expansive nature of our junior driver programme, we would like to know your likely decision regarding team sizes in F3RWRS next season. While we are not stating a preference of any kind with this memo, we would be greatful for an answer regarding whether 3 car teams will be reduced to two, or the same rules from this season will be in effect in 2015 as well.

kostas: It'll be two cars only next year. I'll post something regarding new rules for next season after I finish Surfers.
