I'm deeply sorry, but the next race won't be coming until the second week of January. I'm currently studying at the University of Trier, where my PC is. As you might have guessed, all GP2 data is there. But as I'm home for the holidays, I can't post any races. Sorry about that. :(

ABC wrote:*Cue Delta Force theme and Paul Page's voice* "This is the Vanderbilt Cup, a prestigious trophy drivers have fought battles over in the past. Names like Resta, Rosemeyer, Nuvolari, Jim Hall or Mark Donahue. This has also been the trophy for the U.S. 500, as well as the Champ Car series from 2000 on. Another load of great names can be found there. Vasser, Moore, Zanardi, Kanaan, de Ferran, da Matta, Tracy or Bourdais. When Champ Car folded, it's remnants were taken over by the IndyCar Series, not including the Vanderbilt Cup. But today, the drivers of the Street Racing League will battle again over this prestigious trophy. In the Las Vegas 99. The race may be just 99 Laps long, but it is filled with all the stars and cars of the SRL. Veterans will fight against youngster for this trophy. Names like Barrichello, Prost, Schumacher, Frentzen, as well as, Tsingiridis, Bargwanna, Caruso and countless other drivers in this series. The field has a long variety from Formula One World Champions, over Grand Prix winners to Rally drivers. But they are all united by this very goal. The Vanderbilt Cup!"

And now, ESPN on...erm...ABC Sports presents, the Las Vegas 99!

And indeed, Paul Page is commentating this "prestigious" SRL event. At least he won't have to commentate hot dog eating contests, although he still wonders why the hell the SRL officials made him do a delta force intro for a race that is not in Indianapolis. Whatever, with him is Danny Sullivan, Indy winner, F1 reject and former cast member of Miami Vice. But without further ado, let's go to race:

Tsingiridis keeps his lead at the start, but he is closely followed by Frentzen and Duval. At least until lap 3, where he is passed by Frentzen. Two laps later, he is also passed by Duval. While Frentzen and Duval are increasing their gap to Tsingiridis, his teammate Rubens Barrichello sneaks up on him. On lap 9, where the first lappings begin, Barrichello passes his teammate.
A frightening incident occurs on lap 11, where Michael Schumacher tangles with the Albertini GP of Vita Kouzkin. His nose is destroyed, and he has to go to the pits. Bad luck for him once again, as he was performing decently in this race. But this shouldn't be his last incident of the day. In fact, 16 laps later Schumacher becomes the victim of another incident. When Bertrand Gachot leaves the pits, he tangles with Papis, forcing the latter to drive into the gravel. But just as he leaves it, Schumacher drives into his cars, damaging his front nose again. Papis meanwhile is stuck in the gravel, and it takes some laps before he comes out of them. But while he is in the gravel, he causes some chaos in turn one.
Two laps later, a similar incident happens and Schumacher is involved again. When he comes out of the pits, Damon Hills Embassy-Hill get offs Schumacher's Phoenix, and crashes after a small flight into the tire barriers.
As you can see, the race has been pretty chaotic, and it was hard to tell the actual standings in the race. But one thing is certain, the race winner. After a hard duel with various drivers for the lead, Michael Caruso wins the race after 99 laps. He will now have his name engraved into the Vanderbilt Cup, which by the way was recovered from Tony George's trashcan. To some surprise, Tsingiridis finishes the race. On top of that, he finishes on the podium, giving Skoda Team Cyprus their first podium. The man on third place is also a small surprise. Alain Prost finishes the race, as he basically proved once again why he's called "The professor". He did a quiet race and did not engage in any tangle. And here are the full results:

Euromotor gets podium denied at Las Vegas 99. Frentzen and team still leads the pack

The weekend of Las Vegas 99 wasn't the best for Euromotor team. Both cars didn't had enough performance to take a podium at the Nevada oval course, where the Vanderbilt Cup was given to Michael Caruso, from Garry Rogers team. The best Euromotor-Honda in track was Bertrand Gachot, fourth place, while Heinz-Harald Frentzen finished in the sixth place.

Gachot, that outclassified his teammate for the first time in the season, shown himself relieved with his final placing, given the troubles he had at the race, namely the collision with Italian Massimiliano 'Max' Papis. "It wasn't my best race, I admit. The thing with Papis burdened the race for me. It was a race incident, but still I feel that I could had a better performance here", said.

Frentzen, still leading the championship with 51 points, felt he could had done better at Las Vegas 99. "Nothing worked today. Nothing. I felt myself too off the pace, the setup wasn't the best and I lost some time in the final third of the race. Being the drivers' leader feels consolation to me, but I wished I could do better. And I aim the next race for improvement"

On other hand, team manager Piercarlo Ghinzani announced that German Markus Winkelhock will be the reserve driver of Euromotor for the Street Racing League season

Albertini Siderurgia GP sells to Hydook
After scoring another double DNF, Francois Albertini decided to pull out the plug on Albertini Siderurgia GP and sold the team to Hydook Racing d.o.o, and therefore the team will be renamed as Hydook GP.

"I spoke to a number of interested parties in recent months and these are absolutely the right people," said Albertini. "They are totally committed and as we look to the future, we will see this team getting competitive. This deal provides the team with the security and strength it needs."

The drivers line-up will remain unchanged, however it is possible that one of them will be replaced with a Croatian driver.

 It was a joke actually, given at the time you posted that, you were trolling the series with your team here.

Feel free to enter Kostas, but given that SRL is set in 2012 and requires to use real-life drivers (for now), you may enter Parma Corse with Ricciardo Patrese and Ivan Capelli. (just a suggestion) :)

Considering this series already has Toshi Arai and Francois Duval, one of my drivers would definitely be Gigi Galli
I also wanted Andrea de Cesaris, but seeing as he is taken I think I will take Stefano Modena instead :)

I'm really surprised that there is still interest into this series. But things are actually starting to look up here. I should be back in Trier in mid-April, and by the same time I should also get internet into my apartment. Thus, this series can continue. You'll just have to wait until mid-April.

No. There's no point in delaying it. After such a long pause, it's kinda hard to go back to SRL. But I learned a lot in terms of organizing, which might prove handy for my next project. A project which I will eventually finish, I promise. ^^

At least I had more races than the 2011 Superleague Formula Season.

J.O.U.R.N.A.L wrote:SRL is dead: Walther Williams arrested, management collapsed
Street Racing League (please don't take the name literally!), an open-wheel racing series held in road courses, has been officially been cancelled, effectively today.

After the last race in Las Vegas, there was nearly nothing that can be heard from the series, except that Albertini Siderugia GP was purchased by Hydook Racing and Il Barone Rampante (Alasdair Lindasay's racing conglomerate, not the 90's F3000 team) attempting to enter the series.

As reported, Walther Williams, founder of the series, was arrested after it was emerged that a number of illegal loans was issued from the commercial management wing of the series. Some of the series' executives was arrested. As a result, the management collapsed.

It led to the remaining management to announce the cancellation of the series. "The Street Racing League Management would like to apologize to announce something sad: that the remainder of the series has been cancelled". The statement was posted on SRL's Twitter page.

The loan case is under inverstigation by American officials. Earlier this year IRDU - the organization behind IRDU Rejects Cup - was found allegedy unable to make repayments against a leasing company. The IRDU's case is being investigated.

Alas, I just wrote a short story of Mr.Williams' oilfields suddenly drying up as the reason for the series' cancellation in our Wiki.

Oh well, you can always edit there whichever theory sounds better. ;)

Hence why I write the IRDU article - as a write-off for IRDU Rejects Cup's death (of course before you took over it and rename it as RoLFS ;))

The Street Racing League - Brought to you by F1 Rejects

ESPN.com wrote:Best In The World brand purchases SRL assets

In a shocking announcement, Kay Lon confirmed that his merchandising brand has purchased the Street Racing Leauge's assets. The German said that crowds have always been interested in street racing since the birth of motor racing itself and therefore he and his financial advisor see the series as "a potential gold mine".

The Castrol Jones Racing* driver said that the series will undergo some major changes in it's structure and will see a number of races cut for contractual reasons. All teams and manufacturers are invited to stay with the series. Lon promises a "unique" championship with "awesome racing" and advised the fans to follow the official Street Racing Leauge website for information on the new championship mode

* From now on, this series has always been a "winter series", with it's first season being 2013/2014 - you can only do two things about that: nothing or like it. :P

Alright, this championship system is complicated - needlessly so - and odd, so listen up.

There will be six more races this season, split in three stages:

Stage 1: Group Stage

- Pau Street Challenge
- St. Petersburg Street Challenge

In this stage, the 18 teams are divided into six groups, i.e. three per group, the best two teams of a group advance to the knockout round together with the best "worst" team of each group. How this mode will exactly work, I will show you once I have drawn those groups.

Stage 2: Knockout Round

- Detroit Street Challenge
- Marrakech Street Challenge

The remaining 13 teams battle these two races to determine the last five teams for the finals,

Stage: Finals

- Shanghai Street Challenge
- Surfers Paradise Street Challenge

In these finals, the 10/9 drivers from the teams advancing to the finals simply battle for the Driver's Title, fighting on their own gain.

These stages have no effect on the constructor's championship who will simply be calculated by normal "Those with most points" win mode.
