Rubens Retrospective on the main page
Rubens Retrospective on the main page
Hi everyone,
With no room in the 2012 field for Rubens Barrichello, we have decided to post a Rubens Retrospective series of pictures on the main page of the site, down the bottom near the Reject of the Year picture. There will be a new picture every day for the next 30 days to celebrate Rubinho's 19-year career in Formula One. Relive the highs and lows, and feel free to debate what events and pictures you feel should have been included!
We hope you enjoy the series!
Cheers,
Enoch

Re: Rubens Retrospective on the main page
I need not mention the Imola crash, or the sight of him blubbering like a baby when he got his first win, but you may or may not have considered the "there will just be a lot of blah blah blah" scene from 2009.
Will there be an archive of sorts in case we miss a day? I'll be away from internet-land for at least three days some time during this retrospective.

So what happens in the event that he magically returns next year?

We should do another one in 2013 to celebrate his 20-seasons career in case he cannot find a drive again.

And the world knew we had a special driver. Such a shame his gearbox failed near the end.

Nice one, I missed the 1996 photo.

You might have to do a Trulli Retrospective now too.

And is that a freshly written-off Minardi I see in the foreground?

Must be Sarrazin after his massive crash at the last corner.

Re: Rubens Retrospective on the main page
Great to see Super Aguri in the background of 2007 picture!
Of the earlier pictures, I expected one from 2003 Japanese GP podium as it was Barrichello's victory which clinched the title for Schumacher that day. But of course Silverstone race is one that deserves a pic too. You said there was 30 pictures coming, and by the tradition of at least one picture from every year which has been a case for all retrospectives.
That means there are 11 extra pics. Now there are 2 from 1994, 2 from 1999, 2 from 2002 and 1 from 2005. 4 to go.
So I believe there is
2008 only one from Silverstone
2009 Pictures of his two wins and some other pic
2010 One on-track pic and one celebrating his 300th GP
2011 Two pictures from which second is from Interlagos

Would the 2008 one be the Turkish Grand Prix? since that was the race where he beat Riccardo Patrese's record.

Actually, I'd imagine it's be two pics for 2008 (Turkey and Silverstone) and two from 2009.

That I have, even if I've had to look at half the pictures on this thread.
