QUALIFYING
RACE
What a hot weekend we had in Japan; not because of the weather, but happenings in and around the track made this weekend a remarkable one. We started the weekend with Melrose deciding to walk off Jones as soon as the GP ended, and we finished it with a rookie driver losing a well earned 2nd place for another rookie driver. All in all, a nice wrap to a season where, in the end, Chris Dagnall´s boys walked off with both titles again. It won´t be so easy in the future so they may enjoy this prize, because in the end, they were able to win by hard working into the car´s reliability throughout the season. 2nd place by debutant Hansuke Shioya was the perfect ending for them, as the Japanese showed he´s able to drive alongside very tough drivers, but, the real start of the weekend was Martin McFry, qualifying the irregular Foxdale in 2nd place and running 2nd until the last lap, when his car gave up; we´re sure he´ll be able to prove again his talent in the future. 3rd came Kay Lon, once again in form, the German has done a remarkable end of the season... if only we had seen him in this form from the beggining of the season... Kudos as well for Daniel Melrose, able to battle in a not so decent Jones this weekend for points, and to Daniel Martins, whose 1 stop strategy and a brilliant pace earnt him an extra and much needed point. Where he´s heading now is a mistery, but he´s been solid enough when his car let him to find a decent drive.
In the disappointments chapter, we must start with the Japanese bunch; first Shinobu Katayama, who had one of those weekends where she was nowhere to be seen; it´s curious that Sunshine had such an irregular season where normally only either Lon or Katayama stood out, but never both at the same time. Then, the guys at Kamaha had a seriously bad end of the season, with Steele retiring once again in the quest for points and Mori not being fast enough to deserve them. In the chapters of opaque driving respecting their team-mates work, we must include Mirko Bosevic, Douglas Mann and Sammy Jones in no particular order, but our ROTR will go for Daniel Melrose; despite driving a good race; the affair with Sammy Jones regarding his 2015 contract, which was thrown out of the window by an outraged Sammy Jones, and the no-qualifying of Rhys Davies, who arguably had the fastest car of the grid, but was unable to score a time in Q2, made the Australian had his worst Sushi dinner of the weekend for sure.
Now, in-between seasons we look forward for Non-Championship races; see you all in 2015!

I think now is a very good time to point out Article 6.1.3 in the regulations.
Although whether it'll actually do anything is entirely up for debate

I wasn't talking about you
I was referring to our esteemed friends down at Mecha GP
EDIT: Then again, Lawsuits have always been a grey area in the regulations.

Autodynamics GP will support Al-Faisal in the lawsuit against Mecha GP. One senior official within the Autodynamics Group even went as far as saying that Mecha have "no credibility" and that "the team needs to forget about their pathetic attempt at publicocrap and actually try to build a good car.

Wizzie, go check SuperAguri's (informal) lawsuit thread Or should it be in CAS thread?

There's a reason the last post in that thread was on August 11th, 2011. The rule was introduced in the first place because of him
Therefore, MRT would like to report Mecha GP to the F1RWRS Commission for bringing the sport into disrepute.

RWRSweekly.com wrote:Simpson considering retirement from full time F1RWRS driving
After a lackluster effort in Pre-Qualifying at Fuji for the Scuderia Alitalia team, where he was almost 2 seconds off the pace of teammate David Koczo, Dave Simpson is re-considering his decision to race full time next season for his new team. In a quick interview with us he reported "From my poor showing today it seems I'm now too slow to be competitive in this sport, perhaps I should just concentrate on team ownership and leave the racing to someone else". However, he was also quick to point out that Fuji was not exactly one of his favourite tracks, that he struggled due to that and being unfamiliar with the car after being out of it for so long.
Could this mean that the rumours are true and Daniel Melrose will race for Simpson Motorsports in 2015?
This is a cool spot.

What FMecha has done is basically ignore everything that we learned about the old cases and has put himself in line for a huge penalty. Nice

Having said that though, I've never had a closer friend in this crazy world of motorsport than Dave. All he has to do is give the word and I'll sign the contract in a heartbeat.
However, we have a weekend to worry about and my goal is to score as many points as I can for Sammy. Hopefully, he'll be able to let me run the car in Indy as well as, with MRT now being power-limited for that race, Jones should be up there in contention for the win.
Translation: Yes, Melrose in interested in driving for Simpson. Yes, Melrose wants to drive for Jones at Indy. Yes, Lappy has already done Indy and we both knows the results. Yes, he will have a stroke if he has to run the race again thanks to last-minute changes.

For the most part, they're only cosmetic changes which I have no problem with. The team Phoenix change for 2011, whilst confusing, I'll leave as is. The Trueba/Alitalia deal on the other hand...

Today, Mecha Grand Prix has announced it has dropped and discontinue their lawsuit against their former driver Saeed Al Faisal. Effendi further added "that we got many criticism on-paddock and on-line" and "we receive penalty threats".
Instead, the team is currently arranging a way to reach Al-Faisal so the team can apologize and settle with him. "This is the better way" said Effendi.

The Phoenix thing is something I do have a problem with, specifically the change in the constructors standings - regardless of the engine used, it's the same team, same entry, so an engine change doesn't change their constructor status. And if that stands, then the Trueba/Alitalia thing needs to be fixed, since they are technically two different constructors.
And if I'm honest, it looks stupid. I was annoyed when it was changed on Wikipedia, but I can actually control it here.

By the same token, the only difference between the Alitalia and Trueba is the name as they still use the same package so in my opinion they're one of the same.

Why do you always insist on having one wet qualifying session? That just makes MRT's job of dominating the field much harder than it needs to be

Thank the regulations for that. Although, if it wasn't for the regulations, you'd have the peril of facing MRT in pre-Q for the first half of the year

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
I was trawling in the F2RWRS thread for something and I managed to remind myself of something that I had completely forgotten about. I knew that Macklin and Rueckert had a race ban plus a suspended ban but what I also discovered is that Melrose's replacement at Jones Racing ALSO has a suspended ban on his head for all of next year. And he's not the only one either

I should think on how unfortunate they are to be at the bottom of the food chain, scrapping for the scraps that life throws at them, hoping one day they will be given a chance for a better life. So I apologies to all those mangy dogs that I compared so unfavouriably with Mecha Grand Prix, I know now that even Mangy dogs are more honourable and lovable then the fools running Mecha Grand Prix. My lawyers ask me to remind them that trying to sue me will cost you a lot of money and you are likely to lose the team when you lose or will get such a fine that you will be the first team to end up with minus points. I stand by my statements, the Mecha Grand Prix car was as aerodynamic as an American who goes to a burger place 6 times a day, as powerful as a mouse pushing a brick and as steerable as a shopping trolley with as many upgrades as a Ford Model T owner would have been offfered. I am glad that my former team mate James Davies is backing me up, I hope finds a better team to race for, Simpson Grand Prix or ARC should hire this man on the spot, you will not be disappointed. Thank you.". There were roars of laughter as he read the speech out, a lawyer for MGP was spotted in the background going quite puce in the face.
Shinobu Katayama fine.
Other less respectable publications have said that Shinobu Katayama was attacked with a glass, as Shinobu Katayama exclusively told us "I am fine, some driver who was a bit drunk who I shall not name was annoyed that I won the race and was having a go at me, he walked away and walked back but being drunk, he tripped over and splashed some white wine over my dress. That was all that happened. These journalists should check their facts out.".
Kay Lon wearing heavy sunglasses for a reason?
Kay Lon is known for wearing sunglasses everywhere he goes, but at the Japanese GP he is wearing a much larger pair and most people assumed it was just some fashion but Shinobu Katayama also told us another tale, "It was around 7pm and I was in my motorhome with my race engineer, Toshi Honda and the team manager Peter Fields, in a light debrief where I had my hands out in front of me and was showing them the amount of steering I was doing over some of the bumps on the circuit when Kay Lon came up behind me and grabbed my breasts saying in a drunk slurry fashion "I can easily drive around these bumps.", my boyfirend Taki Takahaka, former WBO featherweight champion and now ranked 5 in the WBO Lightweight division took offence at this and grabbed Kay Lon, took his sunglasses off, stamped on them and punched him clean in the face. Kay Lon was knocked out and taken to his motorhome by Peter. Behind those sunglasses is quite the black eye. Serves him right.". We shall try to get a picture of Kay Lon with him black eye but he has been staying his motorhome, we hear that Du Lei has him on a tight leash.
STOP PRESS!
Mecha drop legal action against Prince Al Faisal.
Mecha have sensibily dropped their action against Prince Saeed Al Faisal as it was clear that they did not have a leg to stand on and also realised that Saeed Al Faisal is a prince with pocket money bigger then their annual budget. They are going to talk to Saeed and apologises to him, we found Prince Saeed Al Faisal and he said "I am looking forward to those fools coming down here [to the ArrowTech garrage where he is guest] and getting on their hands and knees to apologise to me, but I feel they will be waiting at the airport on their non transferable non refundable cattle class tickets with aeroflot to go home, knowing that they would not have got out of prequalifying.". Mecha Grand Prix were unavailable for comment.

1 race ban which is suspended until the end of 2015, what does that really mean? 1 race ban to be taken in 2016, 1 race ban suspended but will have to be taken if driver appears before the stewards again before the end of 2015?

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
Cor bloody hell thats a lot of posts for one evening!
Anyway: TMLW/Wizzie revert the edits if you want, I'm not too bothered. I was just flicking through some old season on Wikipedia and noticed they did them like that, so I figured copying them over to our wiki would be alright. I admit the Phoenix situation is a bit confusing, but for the Trueba/Trueba Alitalia thing, effectively what I'm considering is the fact that since Alitalia took over the Trueba entry, whilst the only thing different is the name, the stats and (lack of!) points scored are for Alitalia as the constructor, rather than Trueba. Alternatively we can change this so it's still classed as Trueba as the constructor, and only in 2015 do Alitalia in their own right start collecting stats, etc. What do you guys think?
Also, for Melrose's benefit, none of the CJR line-ups for the non-championship races change. Both will remain the same as long as Melrose is happy driving for the team.
Oh and Vantini better be on his best behaviour next year, I guess if not Jack Christopherson will be making a brief return in his final year of his contract with CJR!

Melrose will be more than happy to participate for Jones in the non-championship races.

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
Last year, the general consensus was that the 'Triple Crown' of Formula One was Monaco and any two from Britain/Belgium/Italy. This got me to thinking about what would be considered the 'Triple Crown' of the F1RWRS. The only criteria that I'll place on it is that at least one of the three have to be a 'historic' event (That is, been on the F1RWRS calender since 2010). With that in mind, my selection would probably be Monaco, Adelaide and Macau.
What do you think is the 'Triple Crown' of the F1RWRS and do you guys think there should be some sort of prestige trophy to go with it?

If we still had the Surfers SuperPrix, I'd put that down as one, either Macau or Monaco, and then maybe a British round. Hard to say though really.

Anyway, they seem to be writing stuff out of their arse more than lately. Seemingly they have realised that they cannot write the Best In The World™ out of a cockpit so they now "just" go for ruining my reputation. As far as my sun glasses go: I've lost a bet with Sammy and now I'll have to wear these stupid sun glasses for the entire weekend. And now talk about something people will care about: my student Tomo Kazama winning the F3RWRS championship, therefore becoming the first legitimate female champion in the RWRSs.
Triple Crown? I'd guess Adelaide, Norisring and Spa. aerond may like Macau, but it wasn't really anything special so far so I'd go with the "historic" Norisring race.
We could award the Embassy Hill Remembrance Trophy for it.

I'd be tempted to go Adelaide, Spa and either Indy, Macau or Norisring.

Oh my, I completely forgot about the Bavarian GP
Speaking of which, can the German GP be renamed the Bavarian GP next year just for old time's sake?

Seriously, what are you guys talking about my team? I am confused, since I stated a long time ago it'd be Aeroracing Engineering from 2015 onwards, using the same package and Audi would still "supply" the engines.
And I'll enter the non-championship races already as Aeroracing with McAllister and The Stig.
