As of yet, with Swerts' schedule still unconfirmed, there is no guarantee of a race seat for 2015, as Swerts may end up contesting the full programme, and Dinella with his Lampre sponsorship is tied to the team for the year. However the team are interested in both Bob Sampson and Calvin Brooks as potential talents for the future, and should one be given the Kingfisher drive, Jones Racing would be very interested in talking to the other with a view to being reserve for 2015 and a guaranteed seat in the F3RWRS for 2016. Alternatively if either driver expresses a preference for taking the drive, I will hire them immediately.

There may also be potential for some starts in RoLFS during 2015, but that remains to be seen.

Actually, with the way next year's calender is structured, the only F3 race Swerts might miss is Round 2 at Laguna Seca depending on when the F2 race at Kyalami falls when Aerond releases the F1RWRS calender. All the others with the exception of the Surfers SuperPrix are support rounds of the F2RWRS.

When the calendar is released, I'll make sure that Swerts can take part in all races for the F3RWRS. If some races clash with each other, that's what Gregor Pascal is for :P

Ah yes, I forgot to mention, Swerts can only do 8 F2RWRS races before the end of the F3RWRS season if he wants to do a full time campaign in the F3RWRS.

That was taken into account in the preliminary schedule I announced, which is only temporary before the calendar comes up.

Since Wizzie's started, let's get testing! It'll give us something to do while we wait for Aerond to get the F1RWRS ready for next season.

2015 - Test Session 1 - Yas Marina

Code: Select all

Pos Driver                  Team         Time

1   Dan Greenlaw            Prospec      1:53.074
2   Joel Melrose            JLD          1:53.738
3   Daniel Melville         ZimSport     1:54.037
4   Nick Nurmester          JLD          1:54.403
5   Martin van der Maeyede  Kingfisher   1:54.714
6   Ryan Zimmer             ZimSport     1:54.729
7   Raul Souto Maior        Aeroracing   1:54.896
8   Nathanael Cameron       Prospec      1:55.163
9   Joe Harmsky             Shonan       1:55.344
10  Carsten Jancker         Hydook       1:55.435
11  Dorien Lamberigts       Octan        1:55.441

Code: Select all

12  Lorenzo Crescenzi       Parma Corse  1:55.557
13  Eric Swerts             Jones        1:55.733
14  Takuma Taki             Autodynamics 1:55.811
15  Hendra Naufal           Takagi       1:55.904
16  Shane Walsh             ZombieKart   1:55.937
17  Kevin Bainomugisha      Octan        1:55.743
18  Roberto Dinella         Jones        1:56.198
19  Tetsuya Takagi          Takagi       1:56.755
20  Tyler Buckley           Gulf JCW     1:56.858
21  Dale Hamilton           Autodynamics 1:56.898
22  Roland Davidson         Gulf JCW     1:56.976
23  Roberto Zayas           ZombieKart   1:57.024
24  Anita Horford           BITWM        1:57.355

Code: Select all

25  Judd McAllister         BITWM        1:57.373
26  Branko Ristic           Hydook       1:57.377
27  Hillary King            Aeroracing   1:58.486
28  Samora Mondlane         Porto Wine   1:58.783
29  Jose Maria Cabral       Porto Wine   1:58.832
30  Yuri Sokolov            Shonan       1:58.944
31  Alessandro Lucarelli    Parma Corse  1:59.711
32  Iulian Pitea            Dofasco      2:00.304
33  Jan Maylander           Dofasco      2:00.514

With none of last year's top 5 drivers staying in the F3RWRS in 2015, the title battle looks wide open. JLD have had a marked improvement, although how much is the car, which they are now getting from Jones Racing, and how much is due to having two known qualifying specialists, remains to be seen. Dan Greenlaw looks like giving Prospec a shot at two in a row, and Daniel Melville was also quick the first time in the car. Martin van der Maeyede, the only Kingfisher in the field as they have yet to announce a second driver, was a good fifth, and maybe they can get out of pre-qualifying. Come Adelaide, it looks like JLD will almost certainly get past PQ, with Kingfisher, Autodynamics and Takagi fighting over the other two spots. Aeroracing and Shonan could get through, but King and Sokolov could prove costly to their campaigns. Porto Wine and Dofasco won't be going anywhere, while Lucarelli had a disappointing session for Parma Corse.

Before the season starts, there will be another test in Dubai, with a third possibly at Lausitz. Remember AdrianSutil, you need a second driver.

Red Bull World Race Team competes in F3RWRS, not Autodynamics.

(Although I have decided that RBWRT will act as an effective junior team to Autodynamics)

Also, I am very happy with the results of the tests.

Meh, I just assumed. That leads to a couple of questions though:
1. Is the chassis constructor Autodynamics or Red Bull?
2. Do you want to keep the Red Bull/Jagermeister livery?

I run a business, my sponsors require me to field a team that is competitive, so my drivers should be able to deliver. We'll see how the season progresses and keep an eye on his performances.

Certainly.
Name: Calvin Brooks
Born: 19 February 1995
Bio: Born in Vancouver, Canada, Calvin Brooks is Canada's big hope for the future. After dominating every kart race he came across, Calvin was tipped for a fast track to the IndyCar series after winning over half of the races in his debut Indy Lights series in 2013. However, his ultimate goal was to succeed in Europe, and moved to the UK in January to pursue that ambition. A year later, and Brooks can add a close 3rd place in the British F3 series to his resume. Brooks' season was a tale of very quick, but also very wild driving - he qualified on pole nearly 80% of the time, but often wound up overdriving and crashing. Still, he led the series in wins, with 9 of a possible 30, and was in position to seal the title with another win when his engine let go on the last lap.

If the Hillary King in this universe is of a similar build as in the GTA universe, then the reason is pretty clear.

Kingfisher Junior announce re-shuffle for next test:
Mr.Alexander will keep Martin van der Maeyede out of the KJ-002 for the next test, as both Bob Sampson and Calvin Brooks will pilot the Holden-powered machine in a straight shoot out. "Martin has already showed his consistency and skill behind the wheel, so as far as we are concerned, he's ready to go racing. If there is a third test, he will be back in the car."
"As for Bob and Calvin, it won't necessarily be the quicker driver who gets the second seat, but we are more interested in professionalism and consistency. Regular meetings with the team also help in our decision, as we need someone to show as much support to the outfit that Martin has already done. We don't need a driver who just files in and out at race weekends."

Knight insisted he knows what he is doing "I have been an avid follower of the RWRS for many years now, so I know what is going on. As for me being an ignoramus, we'll see, when we are accepted into the RWRS". Knight has become increasingly desperate in his attempts to enter the RWRS, and he has made it clear that buying an existing team is not out of the equation. "Plus One Group have a large fund pot from our American adventures, so buying a team is financially plausible. But I hope it doesn't come to that, as I respect all the team owners in this , and indeed other, series. Plus One Group wants to be a part of this, and if the series officials can find room for just one more, then it would be greatly appreciated, and I would be extremely grateful for any concessions [Made by the series managers to allow Plus One into the F3RWRS at such short notice]."

Translation: Is there room for just one more? If not just add me to the waiting list.
If you want to sell your team, Mr Knight is open to any negotiations and all offers

Jake Legge, the team principal of the RoLFS outfit Fusion Motorsports, has followed on from Plus One's bid to enter the F3RWRS by announcing his intent to pursue an entry. Legge said "We feel that we should set up a team to encourage our drivers in our development project to move into a different series, and use this chance as a shop window for the depth of talent we have here."
The team's first two graduates, Jari Lappalainen and Diego Alvarez Torrente, are now in the RoLFS series, and due to the effort being a one-car entry the drivers will swap places mid season. Should any teams exit the series, they will then look to expand to two cars. Legge wishes to then bring Lappalainen and Alvarez Torrente into the RWRS umbrella to help them progress through the ranks.
On the team's entry, Legge said "I'm not expecting an entry right away, because I believe the team roster is full. Anyway, we'd like to be in after the coming season has ended. This is because the effort is to develop our own driving staff and currently our two graduates are already fully booked up. We want them to do a season in another series to give them the experience, then bring them into the RWRS and show them off to all of the teams."
The project is financed by wealthy Egyptian benefactor Mohammed Al-Zayed, famous for previously owning London-based department store Jarrod's and is chairman of Walham Football Club. Current main sponsor Mad-Croc will not extend their one-year deal with the team.

Re: Pasta's email about TRE

Sadly, I have to say that the team is not for sale at the moment. Also, keep in mind that Takagi and Mecha are seperate entities. Please understand it, Pasta.

Pasta, I would like to tell you this again:

Mecha Grand Prix and Takagi Racing Enterprises are SEPERATE ENTITIES and ARE UNRELATED TO EACH OTHER. (well, except for Mecha sending their development driver Hendra Naufal to TRE, that's the only relation)

See the another wiki thread for details. ;)

In Dubai the teams were running race simulations, usually over about 15 laps. Eric Swerts topped the times, showing that Jones might be strong contenders in race trim. Prospec continued their strong run, while the JLDs struggles massively, with both Melrose and Nurmester accused of holding drivers up. Horford, Cabral and Bainomugisha all had accidents at some point, while Taki lost some time with an electrical issue about half way through the day. AT Kingfisher, the two drivers ended the test with almost nothing between them, with Sampson more consistent over a stint than Brooks.

I've decided I will run a third test, at Lausitz. It'll be done when I can be bothered.
