F2RWRS - The feeder category of the F1RWRS
Re: F2RWRS - The feeder category of the F1RWRS
Then that means Gregor Pascal is officially signed as co-first driver alongside Eric Swerts.

Good man, Tommy. Seron theoretically has the better qualifying performance file than Albertini yet he got beaten comprehensively by Albertini in ALL FIVE of the test runs of pre-qualifying I did

Without giving too much away Wizzie, as you can't really do it, but how did Kingfisher's driver fare in quali? Id like midfield.

Well, you better hope that RonDen (Read: Wouter Lamberigts) make it out of pre-Q very quickly otherwise you're in a whole world of trouble

This is not about prequalifying, but is Glotch getting comprehensively beaten by his teammate.

Don't know. Only tested the pre-Q performance file thus far. In which I've discovered a slight problem with the Adelaide track which I have to fix first

No, that's the problem with the V8 config. The 1995 one erases some of the qualifying times for some odd reason. Switching to the 1988 one solves both problems. It's your call as to which one you use.

Despite the sacking of Seron, he remains on the team's development program, and so his personal sponsors still appear on the car for Pascal, which has now been painted:

De Telegraaf wrote:EXCLUSIVE: Van Nieuwenhuijzen's future thrown into doubt
De Telegraaf has obtained evidence which strongly suggests promising young Dutch racing driver Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen's career is about to be completely derailed. A marketing poster has been obtained through a leak, and a worrying sign is the absence of van Nieuwenhuijzen's name, replaced with a different driver altogether.
Said driver is Olafur Ragnar Hannesson, who finished fourth in this year's Rejects of LFS championship for ZimSport, winning a race in the process. His performance was notable, as he had the biggest advantage over a team-mate at the end of the season out of every team on the grid. After a stonking qualifying for the non-championship Luxemboug Grand Prix, hauling the Trueba-based Parma Corse car all the way up to 4th on the grid, it seems his form was just too good to ignore for Scuderia Alitalia, usurping the Dutchman who showed flashes of brilliance but little consistency.
Scuderia Alitalia refused to comment, while the drivers were unavailable for questioning at the time of the leak.

Autosport wrote:Mexico City test moved to Oulton Park
The first of five scheduled F2RWRS tests at Mexico City has been moved to Outlon Park after it became clear that recent renovations and resurfacing at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez would not be completed in time for the test. Upon hearing the news, F2RWRS Commissioner Tom Douglas quickly rescheduled the test to the Cheshire site. Whilst the track was unavailable for the test, both Douglas and the track owners are certain Mexico City will be ready for the F1RWRS race in April this year.
"Mexico City is a fantastic track but, unfortunately, the resurfacing work hasn't quite been finished yet and as a result, the F2RWRS can't hold their first full field test at the track. Therefore, we've had to reschedule to Oulton Park and we expect that test to be a success for all teams involved" said Tom Douglas when asked about the situation. When asked about who could be potential contenders in 2015, Douglas politely declined to comment but did reveal he expected the works Lancia team (Scuderia Alitalia) to be very strong.

Oulton Park Test - Day 1
Scuderia Alitalia and Lancia were being hyped up by many people as title contenders with their strong showing at the season ending FedEx 100 and the Luxembourg Invitational, and with Andrej Kremnicky spearheading their charge, they had rocketed into title favourites. They didn't fail to disappoint with one of their works cars leading the way and a customer RonDen in third. However, it wasn't Kremnicky leading the way. Instead it was his under-fire teammate Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen yet again delivering with his career on the line. Alberto Cara, as the only championship contender from last year, was also well in the hunt in 2nd place, just ahead of Wouter Lamberigts as the third man to break the 1:21 barrier. Michael Cameron was the best of the F3RWRS graduates in 4th while Gregor Pascal provided THE surprise of the session by beating championship favourite Kremnicky for 5th. Sammy Jones' mob were a relative disappointment as Hansuke Shioya and Terry Hawkin could only manage 12th and 13th but at least they was doing better than MRT. In an incredible fall from grace, Michael Robertson could only manage a dismal 19th in the lead MRT while Alessandro Marchesi was even worse in 24th, just ahead of Tanner Jason.

Re: F2RWRS - The feeder category of the F1RWRS
Right now, after the second day at Oulton Park, I'm planning two Barcelona tests (One with no BMW teams, one with a full grid) and then one at Jerez (Yes, I know I said to Lappy this afternoon that Jerez would get the chop over Estoril but then I remembered that Portugal's still on the calender.) Now, I want to know if people want the two day format with race simulations on the second day of each test or one day tests with qualifying simulations only.
Oh, and as far as Mr De Bock is concerned, by default, I'll put Swerts in for the last test at Barcelona and the one at Jerez unless you have other plans for him.

No, it's fine. Swerts is the main driver, so he should get more time than Pascal anyway.

I can tell this season is going to be great. Sammy Jones is going to look like such a retard when Kremnicky and van Nieuwenhuijzen lap both his cars in the races after calling us incompetent.

That's assuming Gillet don't pull out a surprise and bump Jones into the realms of DNPQ

Speaking of DNPQs, with RonDen (read: Wouter Lamberigts) being as ridiculously fast as they are I'm thinking of doing four pre-qualifying shuffles are races 3, 6, 9 and 12 instead of two after 5 and 10. However, if the majority of the teams are against the change, I'll leave it as is.
Oh and because I can't be bothered making a new qualifying rules file for each race and to bring it in line with other categories, the Qualifying session is now a 60 minute free-for-all with teams getting as many laps as they damn well please. However, both Indy and the Norisring will retain the one-lap format as the length of the track could become an issue with traffic.

Naturally, so is Jones Racing, because I don't fancy having my team trapped down in pre-qualifying with RonDen already guaranteed to get through, and the possibility of Gillet being good too!

Re: F2RWRS - The feeder category of the F1RWRS
Oulton Park Test - Day 2
After the disaster of day 1 for MRT, the boss Daniel Melrose showed up in the garage to bring some direction back into the squad and try to bring their championship challenge. Instead, what he witnessed was the field being absolutely demolished by one Andrej Kremnicky as he managed the perfect lap around a mass of red flag periods throughout the day.
The first was very early on in the day for F3RWRS champion Tomo Kazama when her Aston Martin sprung an oil leak and sprayed oil all over the track. The mess was soon cleaned up and the cars returned to the track to start their race simulation work. The second red flag of the day came courtesy of Niko Bellic's Audi engine decided that it had enough and blowing up in spectacular fashion, but not before Wouter Lamberigts pitted after encountering brake problems. Whilst that red flag was fairly straightforward to look after, the next red flag wasn't so easy as Gregor Pascal's right rear tyre shredded itself to bits and ripped off the suspension with it whilst teammate Jean-Vincent Albertini had brake troubles of his own on the other side of the track. After the third red flag, the teams finally managed to get some longer stints in before Catarina Lopes had a frightening incident at Turns 10 and 11 by driving straight on into a tyre wall at the chicane just before lunch. While she was able to get out of the car under her own steam, she walked away with a very noticeable limp and may end up missing the second Barcelona test.
After lunch, the red flags stopped coming until Michael Cameron's BMW engine blew up, bringing out the red flag for the fifth time. In the intervening period, Carter Simpson had a partially jammed throttle and dragged the Young Lions car back into the pits. Meanwhile, Hansuke Shioya ran off the road and collided with Scott Davidson upon reentry at the back of the circuit, earning himself a $5 000 fine from the chief steward Theo Rulboke for his troubles. After the red flag was withdrawn, Micko Glotch in the sole remaining Aston Martin also had a stuck throttle and managed to get his car back into the pits as well. His day then continued to get all the more memorable for all the wrong reasons after he got involved in a collision with Alessandro Marchesi near the end of the lap. The day for all the teams eventually ended five minutes early when Alexy Buyvolov in the Dofasco had an engine failure which brought out the red flag yet again and brought a premature end to the session.
Behind Kremnicky, Alberto Cara continued his strong form from last year with second place but a long way behind Kremnicky in the timesheets. Tanner Jason ended the day in third ahead of Marchesi and Simpson with day 1 pacesetter Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen was in 6th, nearly a full second behind his teammate. Terry Hawkin was the best of the pre-qualifying teams in 8th whilst the surprise package of yesterday Gregor Pascal was absolutely nowhere in 23rd.

Re: F2RWRS - The feeder category of the F1RWRS
And as Tom Douglas continues on his reign of relaxing many of the rules made by Mr Rennis, the next rule he's about to attack is the driver eligibility rule. As it stands right now, the rule is as follows:
1.2.4. A driver can only be eligible if they have participated in sixteen (16) or less F1RWRS or Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends and started eight (8) of those races or less (Non-Championship Races excluded)
However, under Douglas' proposal, the rule will be simplified to the following:
1.2.4. A driver can only be eligible if they have participated in sixteen (16) or less F1RWRS or Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends.
In practicality terms, it means that someone like Nathan Scott can now do what the likes of Grosjean, Glock or Pantano did and drop down into the lower league to restart their careers (Or, in the case of Pantano, ruin their careers in F1 so badly that it backfired spectacularly
). As with the Pre-Q rule change, Mr Douglas would like opinions from teams owners as to whether they want the change or not.

I think you mean '16 or fewer'...

Re: F2RWRS - The feeder category of the F1RWRS
Lindsay hails "perfect" pre-season testing
Scuderia Alitalia team principal Alasdair Lindsay has heaped praise on his team's efforts so far in preperation for the upcoming F2RWRS season, after having each of his drivers go fastest in the two pre-season test sessions so far.
"I don't think I could have asked for a better pre-season," he said. "I don't think anyone can now doubt we have the fastest overall package. The car is great, the drivers are great, the engine we developed with Lancia has been superb, it's been absolutely faultless thus far. Having Andrej and Bastiaan top a session each has just been the icing on the cake."
"I can't lie, this feels really good. Last season most people wrote us off and said we'd never have any success. Those same people are now mired at the wrong end of the grid while we are being tipped for the championship before the season even begins. I said this project would take some time to get right, it was a very ambitious plan entering all levels of RWRS at the same time, but in only eight months we're already moving to the front in at least one. Hopefully our seasons in F1RWRS and F3RWRS imrpove in line with the results we've had here."
He went on to congratulate Kremnicky on his lap time in the second pre-season test, where he was three quarters of a second faster than everyone; "Well, this is exactly why we hired him," he said. "We saw as soon as he came back from injury that this lad was something special. He has an incredible amount of raw talent, maybe the most we've ever seen. With time he will mature into a great rounded driver, and I think he's got what it takes to become as good as, and perhaps better than, Mark Dagnall. But, for now, this is his first full season in F2RWRS, we must stay realistic at this moment and focus race by race. If he continues to win this season, everything else will fall into place."

Ironically, I made the Audis the most reliable and the Lancias the least reliable (to compensate for the extra power) and yet it's the zany Germans having all the engine failures

Doesn't matter that that Lancia is unriable, by the end of the race, Lamberigts would have dropped from pole-position to 15th anyway

I don't know what i want and i want it now!

As long as he drags Pazzo's ass out of pre-qualifying, I'm fine with that

Mr Knight really is turning out to be a bit of an ingnoramus when it comes to RWRS. Firstly, the Polestar Volvo debacle, and now trying to enter F2RWRS after all the new teams slots for 2015 have been filled. I expect it will be 2016 before you get in
