Possibly Ma on the Fridays.

BTW, Karthikeyan has been a little unlucky.

Last 2 races, Clos has driven in FP1, when the Indian has his shot it (Na)rains!

Also, about Mark Tatham. Its good for HRT F1 to hire people outside Spain/Portugal. Apparently Ascanelli will soon be out of a job, if they can land him it would be a great asset, unlikely but never know.

A Clos-PDLR partnership would work IMO. One's a young hard-charger and the other is a cool level-headed veteran. Partnerships like that, in any sport, just work.

I would also like to see Clos at HRT. He has already improved based on his performances in practice sessions.

Clos could have some competition for next year's seat, though, as Alguersuari has said that he is 100% sure of an F1 drive next year. It being with HRT would make sense as they are trying to become more Spanish.

Didn't Alguersuari said it was with a top team? Unless he knows something we do not, I doubt he was talking about HRT.

He said top team...

I think it's likely Mercedes. And that way, Schumacher can (finally) (re-)retire and Alguersuari fits in the seat nicely.

Couple of things:-

The F113 has been in design since June via Mark Tatham and the design team in Germany.
I have also heard that there will be some "good" news on sponsors for HRT real soon

Are they investing more into the F113, rather then working on developments on the F112?

Not really, improvements will be and are being designed to go on after the summer break until India time I believe.

But accordingly HRT have a team led by Mark Tatham who has been in post since June working on the F113.

(EDIT) HRT will have a bigger budget for next year so it should be easier for them.

News about the new sponsor, that will be TUENTI, a firm similar in the idea to facebook (not an expert)

The deal will be reporting a sum similar to KH-7, that´s about 2-2,5 MM per year.

Definitely a legit Spanish company [been visited by the Spanish Telecommunications Secretary]. Nothing about HRT, mind.

Indeed, there´s no official confirmation about TUENTI yet.

The major stockholder is TELEFONICA Group ( by 2010 with about 85% of the stocks), so if the deal is finally done, would be meaning a great support, not only in cash but in image as well for HRT

It also seems Dani C will take over from Narain in Abu Dhabi and Ma to drive his car in all the FP1's after that.

Don't forget in India - Narain will add 3-4 sponsors or so for that weekend and accordingly Dani has 3-4 sponsors for the races he is looking likely to do.

{EDIT} Also some little things I'm hearing for the upgrade package is a completely new FW/RW combo, new exhausts, diffuser modifications, new mirrors and those eyebrows flaps on the top of the side pods.

A thing came to my mind: if by any chance right now there suddenly appeared a new team, How-Did-We-Get-Here? F1 Team which would be as competent as HRT F110 was back in those first days... Just how fast would current HRT/Marussia look compared to such a team and how obvious the progress they've made would be?

They would get beaten by HRT. Particularly now that most of the staff and one of their drivers are actually quite good now.

I beg to differ. In their third season there's a posibility HRT will finish last in the championship - and remember they often secured their 11th position in the first half of the season. Now they have to pray for an eventful or wet race, since on these two occasions they managed to achieve their best results. I put my money on Korea.

HRT did improve a lot, but on the scale of season - they still are behind Marussia when it comes to qualifying and race pace. They had a peak in their performance in Canada, but it was marred by braking problems. Since then, HRT progress came to a halt, and depending on the track they are either closer or further, but still behind Marussia.

I hope the upgrades they prepare for Belgium will be as significant to HRT's pace as the ones in Montreal. I also hope they will become less dependant on Karthikeyan's money so they can swap him for a young and promising driver Dani Clos certainly is, therefore creating a Spanish dream-team

I just thought I would put an answer to this question, even though its not a question and doesn't need an answer

HRT as of December 15th 2011 had not one single bit of equipment to its name!! Dr Colin Kolles owned the lot even the F111's that are at Caja Magica, Kolles had a hold on on them too.The new HRT had to buy everything from new equipment, tyre blankets, extra heaters, trucks, covers etc etc the list goes on. And because Kolles kicked them out of his barn shed, they had to work from Holzer Gruupe in Ausburg in Germany, not ideal when trying to get a car designed ready in 2.5 months.

The F112 was also born on a dark path AGAIN, it didn't start design 100% until Kolles left because he really again just wanted to use the F111's chassis, but then got told he couldn't by the FIA and thats why he agreed to use the Williams KERS because it didn't take as much effort as designing a new car.

As regards to the season so far, we had the non qualify in Aussie to the pretty quick pace at Canada albeit it 25 laps or so to the strong qualifying pace in Valencia. The F112 at this moment in time is using a F111++ FW in effect as it still is VERY basic compared to even the MR-01 FW, this is the area along with a better DRS and new exhaust layouts the the team I hear are bringing to Singapore. There will be mini updates at Spa and Monza(expect the team to use the Canada wing here).

So i expect the team to be last but having a budget this year that is close €15m less than Marussia and to be .5s behind in quail and probably .8/.9s behind in the race is acceptable since the F112 is optimised with the non KERS and less developed Aero.

The team expect to find up to a 1s on the Aero pack for Singapore so it will be much more intresting after then to see what happens.

Now that I think of it, when _this_ good new HRT team makes it's own _new_ car next year - all in all it seems to should be a HUGE progess.

So HRT's improvement is as a direct result of Colin Kolles going home. :lol:
