Re: Virtual F1-Series based on GP2
Well, unlike that greedy twat Christian Danner, mah boy Volker Weidler at least doesn't want money for having the honour of driving for German team. Furthermore, I had to choose between staying loyal to Schwarz-Rot-Gold or enabling perhaps the most famous GMIF1P so I had to pick Arnoux.

Saying that, patriotism's not why I picked Lotus, although that is why I chose to sign Warwick.
Patriotism kinda made me try to sign Moreno for Arrows (Capelli I tried because I would like to see how we would behave in any car that isn't a March or a crapbox Ferrari '92)
I think the driver choices are interesting, I knew at least once pretty good team would go for Moreno, since he along with Alesi is the most loved non-reject on here.
And by decent, I mean Dallara or above. I consider Dallara the 9th best team.
I 'kinda predict' that the non-reject midfield teams can get at least one podium, not counting a probable attrition race

I picked Minardi as they were the first team I supported from 1995 all the way until those bastards at RedBull Bought the team. I hope we don't have to pre-qualify at all.

On second thought, as Ligier hasn't enter the first race yet, i'll pick pirelli's instead of goodyears, seems they are good qualifying tyres, and that's going to be important.

Re: Virtual F1-Series based on GP2
I'm just hoping my relatively inexperienced combo of Herbert and Alesi produce some good results. Herbert's a strong, solid driver and I think he compliments the flamboyant driving style of Alesi.
We're targeting 6th in the WCC, as long as the Ford engine is well prepared and the chassis is reliable. If we can avoid failures and stupid incidents we'll go far.

Lotus are aiming for 3rd, as I want to beat last year, and since Lotus finished 4th in 1988, I have to aim for 3rd, especially since Warwick > Nakajima.

Re: Virtual F1-Series based on GP2
Williams will be using the year as an acclimsation period, since we have an all-new driving lineup and a new works engine deal with Renault. We feel that we can fight for 3rd in the Constructors' championship, possibly 2nd, and will be hoping to ready ourselves for an all-out assault on both titles in 1990. That said, we will be expecting both drivers to win at least one race during the year.

Arrows projects to score a reasonable amount of points (be between 5th and 9th best team), with a podium on the look as a bold projection

AGS ambitions? Nothing! Score a point once and that'd STILL be an improvement over 1988.

The engine shouldn't be a problem. Just don't touch their all-new gearbox with a 20ft pole if they offer it to you and you should be fine

Some sources indicate financial troubles for these teams, and this is where Williams wants to step in. Scuderia Italia should try them, they are cutting edge technology and, mark my words, in a few years all top teams will be using these kind of gearboxes!

7th place, very, very nice. A bit unlucky, but might be very important.

At least Riccardo kept it on the black stuff and picks up Benetton's first podium of the year. The first of many, you know.![]()

There were some mumblings around the paddock that taking on a driver with only one season's experience at a backmarker team was a stupid idea. But I could see Stefano's potential through the bad machinery he had last season, and immediately he has delivered on his promise. It was a great drive by both him and Andrea. After one race with the all-new package we are leading both championships. I didn't in my wildest dreams imagine this could happen. I have no idea if we can keep these kinds of performances up, but it's not like we benefited directly from all of the mass attrition, we were there or thereabouts for the whole race, but the guys behind made up positions because of it. So there is hope we can keep delivering and this not being a fluke.
