@FMecha - You're right! Knight has been demoted to No.2 now and the Jagermeister loving Hermann Mann that we all know and love is now team boss.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport wrote:Scuderia Italia reap windfall from debut victory

After a sensational first win for Stefano Modena and his Scuderia Italia team, the Ferrari powered squad has announced a host of new sponsors backing the team for the rest of the season, starting from the next round of the championship.

Peroni will become a major sponsor of the team, with the Dallara machines to be branded with their famous "Nastro Azzurro" brand. Along with them, deals have also been signed with oil and lubricants supplier Selenia, Cesena-based fitness equipment brand TechnoGym, insurance firm Reale Mutua, and Siena-based bank Montepaschi.

The small team, based in Brescia, had expanded to two cars for the first time for this season, and the immediate impact has come only months after appointing prodigious young Scottish entrepreneur Alasdair Lindsay as their CEO. The Scot got rich at a young age, trading his way up to becoming a millionare before turning 19.

"It's great to sign all these deals with these great sponsors, they will ensure we will keep progressing well throughout the year," he said. "Giuseppe [Lucchini] had become wrapped up in some issues with his own steel fabrication business, so he needed someone to come along and assist with the team. And so here I am. People thought he was crazy hiring such a young guy to run an F1 team, but I think now everyone can understand why. I'm not an idiot you know."

Frank Williams wrote:It's incredibly frustrating to lose a win like that, but we have to look at the positives here. Both Thierry and Alessandro did fantastic jobs in the race - Thierry drove extremely well and ran his own race, and it was only down to a fuel miscalculation that he was denied what would've been a fantastic maiden win on his Williams debut. And while Alessandro must be kicking himself after spinning off very early, he still did well to recover 2nd place. While this is a race I feel we should've won, nonetheless, we still scored 8 points, which is 8 more than McLaren and Ferrari did.

if anybody is interested in larrousse or brabham - post it - and if no replys from the current bosses comes over in time - its yours (would be nice if you include your favourite line-up so you can possibly start in imola already) ... if there is enough interest, we could also start a f3000-series...

Hey Flaschenpost, don't be so impatient. Those members who have already claimed the teams will post. You may not know about FMecha's remindergate, but you are getting closer to that level. I understand you're new and eager to impress and settle in but you need to slow down a bit ;)

There will be a 'prize system' for the teams based on race points and achievements?

Brabham is interested in former Formula 3000 driver Mark Blundell, as well as the 1988 American Racing Series champion Jon Beekhuis. As for the tires, we'd like to get the good old Goodyear tires. Last but not least, the engine, where we'd like to ask Yamaha, if they want to supply us.

Both would join in! Yamaha is interested but only if you sign a japanese driver for one of the race-cockpits!

If Yamaha wants to play that card, Brabham's going to say no thanks! Still, Brabham is not sure if they might receive proper support by either Judd or Ford, as they seemingly supply 75% of the grid. However, Brabham has recently build an Alfa 164 for the Procar regulations, and Alfa probably still has that V10 engine. So Brabham would like to ask Alfa, if they can have that engine.

After the change in ownership, Brabham is proud to announce that we will be on the grid from the San Marino Grand Prix on. Our two drivers will be former F3000 driver Mark Blundell, as well as the 1988 American Racing Series champion, Jon Beekhuis. While we could have signed at least one veteran for our team, we felt that we should go for young talents here. We are also proud to announce an exclusive deal with Alfa Romeo, who will supply us with their V10 engine. With further development, we are confident that we'll place in front of the Ford/Judd teams in a very short time.

Lap 5 : Derek Warwick seems to have some technical Problems and makes a long pit stop

Lap 6 : Prost still leading from Senna, Mansell, Berger, Nannini, Modena, Boutsen, Gugelmin, Brundle, Patrese, de Cesaris, Piquet, Alesi, Martini and Herbert in 15th

Lap 12 : First Retirement of the Race is Fabrizio Barbazza in the Minardi

Lap 17 : After McLaren and Ferrai have made their first pitstops its still Prost leading Senna by 4.8 seconds - with Nannini (No Stop) running 3rd, mansell 4th and boutsen 5th

Lap 18 : What a mess!!! Second race of the season - And for the second time it is Prost out of the race in a comfortable lead! Also Gachot has to stop the race in his Minardi!

Lap 20 : Berger pits in for the 2nd time already - has he some problems? possible!

Lap 22 : Last year, they won 15 out of 16 races - Now we can already say, that they won´t beat it - you know what happened - the world champion Ayrton Senna has just parked his McLaren! Giving the lead to Lionheart Nigel Mansell in his Ferrari!

Lap 24 : Nannini - who just ran in 2nd place - is out of it with Engine-Problems - And so is NIGEL MANSELL! Wow, it seems like the topteams REALLY have to improve their reliability! In the lead now is Thierry boutsen - from Stefano Modena - Modena? No, that can´t happen a second time!

Lap 26 : Martini out now - he ran 13th at that point

Lap 29 : Tarquini stops with Technical Problems

Lap 30 : With about half the distance gone (and some more pitstops) it is Riccardo Patrese leading by 6.0 Seconds over Thierry Boutsen in 2nd, with Berger 3rd, de Cesaris 4th, Gugelmin 5th, Brundle 6th, Modena 7th, Piquet 8th, Herbert 9th, Alesi 10th, Moreno 11th, Capelli 12th, Alboreto 13th, Warwick 14th, Johansson 15th

Lap 31 : Ferraris Gerhard Berger takes 2nd Place away from Boutsen, now hunting Patreses Benetton (5.3 seconds gap)

Lap 32 : No, it can´t happen two times in a row - Championship Leader Stefano Modena has to stop his car (he ran down in 7th)

Lap 37 - Mauricio Gugelmin - having a fantastic race and running in 5th - is out of it now with some technical problems - Whilst Boutsen is in the lead again, after Berger and Patrese made their stops - Berger is now 2nd in front of the italian! But 18 Seconds behind Boutsen!

Lap 45 - Boutsen still in the lead - but Berger is faster - the gap is down to 12 seconds now - Patrese in third, de Cesaris 4th, Brundle 5th, Piquet 6th, Alesi 7th, Herbert 8th, Warwick 9th, Moreno 10th, Capelli 11th, Alboreto 12th, Blundell 13th, Johansson 14th and Nakajima 15th

Lap 48 - After that Wonder of Brazil - its a Double-DNF at Imola : De Cesaris is out

Lap 51 : With 10 laps to go, Berger closed the Gap to 7.5 seconds and is at least half a second quicker per lap - can he, or can´t he?

Lap 53 : With points out of sight anyway, Capelli has to stop his Arrows

Lap 56 : What a shame - looking for his first point in formula one, Young french talent Jean Alesi has to stop with only 5 laps to go!

Lap 57 : Alboreto has to stop his Ligier with a failing engine (running 9th)

Lap 59 : Oh No! What a hard day for Tyrrell! Now its Herbert out looking for that point in 6th! And also Piquet is out! Lots of trouble here with only 2 laps to go! Boutsen leads by 5.6 - looks like he is safe! But it also looked safe at Rio!

Lap 60 : Another unlucky Day for Martin Brundle! Engines blowing up all the way now!

Lap 61 : How unludky can you be?????? Leading the first two races into the last lap - getting nothing out of it - you call it unlucky? you call it a shame? i call it Thierry Boutsen!!! Engine on Fire!

FINISH : Berger takes the victory in front of the Tifosi! Congratulations!

Gachot speaking, as the race continues behind him:
It's a shame to be out early, and me and Fabritzio have struggled for grip all week. Time to leave early and focus on the next race.
