A1 Grand Prix 1951 (Championship Complete)
A1 Grand Prix 1951 (Championship Complete)
I was hoping to upload the 1951 entry list first but since I can't get onto the wiki at the moment I'll reveal the three new teams here. Portugal, Chile and Guatemala will enter for the first time and will be available along with Northern Ireland, which kostas22 gave up, to anyone who doesn't yet have three teams.
Anyway here's the entry list, I'd like everyone involved to confirm their nations by Friday with their drivers, any that aren't by then will be put on the available list.
I'll confirm the calender once the wiki has sorted itself out.

The Argentinian A1GP team, after losing out on the title by the narrowest of margins, have announced their line up for 1951. "If we hadn't of retired in Australia, we would have won the title. But, there is no point speculating." said Julian Lavadora, team boss. "Juan [Manuel Fangio] was amazing - 2 wins in 3 starts says it all. He will race for the whole season next year, with Jose [Froilan Gonzalez] ready to leap in the car if Juan has prior commitments or is injured"

Re: A1 Grand Prix 1951
As detailed earlier, Luigi Villoresi will be the primary driver for Italy. Luigi Fagioli will be his primary backup when date clashes with Formula One occur.
David Murray is the main driver for Scotland, with young talent Jimmy Stewart lined up to replace him should the British GP clash with any A1GP round, and possibly given a race or two during the season which is yet to be decided.

Switzerland will continue with Baron De Graffenried for 1951, with Toni Branca as backup should there be a clash.

Yes, but since will take part in a few F1 races, Gino Bianco will be nominated as his alternate

Re: A1 Grand Prix 1951
There will be one clash between A1 and F1, the German A1 Grand Prix with the British F1 Grand Prix. By shear fluke as I didn't work around their schedule at all the only clash with the AAA Championship will be at Monza which will be the same weekend as the Du Quoin round which at this point in time only affects the United States team.

The Netherlands will have the same driver line-up, with Van Der Lof doing all races, except their home race, where Flinterman will driver.
South africa will swap its drivers (so they will each drive the races the other one hasn't been in the previous year) as part of their evaluation.

New Zealand will remain unchanged with Jack Tutton. England however, will share the car between Peter Whitehead, Mike Hawthorn and Stirling Moss as all three are competing at different times in Formula 1 so seat-sharing will have to occur. I'll post up before each race who will be running.

Finnish team will continue into 1951. Asser Wallenius is planning to retire in 1952, so he takes reduced schedule and is going to drive in eight races this year. This will help the team evaluating new drivers. Other drivers will be announced later.
Team can confirm that Wallenius will drive at least American leg of the series, which means the race in Brazil and USA.

The German A1 Grand Prix clashes with the British F1 Grand Prix but neither Manzon or Trintignant were entered in that race.

Three Chileans here, Bartholome Ortiz Sanz also did a race in 64 so he could be used until then. There's also a Bolivian but he's only shown as having done that one race and there's few traces of any more Bolivians till just recently.

Cantoni and Bira will stay on in their respective countries,as they are practically the only race drivers from that era that came from their respective countries.

Right, I'll take the glorious state of Guatemala, with the aforementioned Jaroslav Juhan as our only driver. In fact he'll be our only choice for a long time, unless a combined team of all the small Central American states (Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama) is allowed in the future seasons.
The team shall be named simply as Equipo Guatemala. If there will be a combined Central American effort, I shall be more sinister and call it United Fruit Company.

For 1951, the VSFK Racing Department (German Democratic Republic -it insists on the team being called this way, being noted as East Germany is patronising unless the Federal Republic of Germany is noted as West Germany - and U.S.S.R.) have decided to continue with their efforts and despite the Soviet car being far below expectations.
