*There is no Drivers Championship.
*Prize money will be given out at the end of the season, with all teams claiming at least a small amount, even if they fail to score a single point.
*Teams are still allowed driver changes, performance upgrades and anything else that is currently in place.
*Teams that fail to compete in at least 4 pre-qualifying session's will have their results wiped. This is to stop teams that make only a couple of appearances from claiming a large chunk of prize money.
'Pre-qualifying will be close', claims insider.
This season's pre-qualifying will be closer than last year, claims a top team boss. "Several teams have upgraded their packages and will be expecting to qualify on a regular basis, so the fight will be very close". Teams like Scuderia Alitalia and Kingfisher Racing will begin their campaign in pre-qualifying from the first race, but it's no secret that both teams are wanting to get out of it as soon as possible. Other teams like Shonan and MechaGP will Be hoping for a little luck to shine on them whilst Dofasco are the early favourites to be at the bottom of the time sheets. Two new teams have entered this year, Simpson and Autodynamics. It remains to be seen if either newcomer can cause an early upset, but both teams have what it takes to compete for the elusive main qualifying session.
