1978 Fords please - otherwise, 1977 one will be enough for ATS.

McLaren would like to reserve a seat for the last 3 Grands Prix, with the driver to be anounced after the 13th race.
I'm waiting for Takagi's offer, then I may negotiate with you. If I find who to drive our second car for the whole year, I'll let Lafitte to Martini.
How about 400 k for the season? We're not made of money y'know!
Also, we'll switch to 78 spec Cossies.

Theodore will happily listen to an offers of cold hard cash to any drivers who want to drive.
Theodore will also take a supply of Ferrari engines.

How has Reutemann not managed to get a seat?

All Ferrari engines are taken. If you want a poweful engine, you can still hava Matras. The other options are old Cosworths and BRMs.

We kept our numbers (I mean the LEC numbers), but are we jumping the pre-qualification?

There are 25 cars entered by constructors which were placed better than LEC in 1977, so through taking over LEC's entry, Fittipaldi escapes pre-qualifying for races with regular 26-car grids. For races with more than 26 starters, both cars escape pre-qualifying.

Too expensive, maybe? At least for the mid to low teams, but for the big ones... It is a surprise that the Argentinian wasn't offered a chance. Depending on the money and development for the year, maybe not all is lost for Reutemann.

I can offer him the chance to drive at home soil instead of young gun Giacomelli, and if he likes the ride, maybe we can talk about sharing...

Boro will enter Ricardo Zunino for the South American races. We will be running just the one car.

Pi, seeing as we have far more constructors than reality, how about raising the grid limit to 28?

I'll extend the grid to 28 cars on mist circuits. Only Monaco and Jarama stay limited to 26 cars.
By the way, would you like to use the original 1978 calendar or would you like some changes?

Re: 1978 Virtual F1 - Engines on page 1
Prize money has been added to the budgets, which can be found on page 1.
I have some questions about the entries:
Merzario, Shadow and Theodore still have to pick an engine. Available are Matras and last year's Ford Cosworths.
March and Apollon still have to announce their full team name, since they didn't compete in real-life 1978.
Merzario still need to announce a driver. As long as you don't name anyone, Arturo himself will drive the car.
Ther will be a free pre-season test again. Please tell me if you want to take part and which track you prefer.

Ligier will take part in the pre-season test with our two main drivers. We'd prefer the test to take place at Paul Ricard.
And just under 5 million to start the year? Not bad, not bad indeed. Looks like we could actually make something of this year.

Since Takagi for the win still has not accepted the offer, we are running both Emerson and Jacques at the test. We prefer some british track, Brands Hatch maybe, but it is up to other team owners, who are testing in UK.
Last season there was a rule stating you can spend 2.5 mln in pre-season development. Does that stands for 1978?

then I'll spend it like that:
900k on top speed
900k on grip, 300k of which - on ground effect
600k on reliability
We are focusing on the grip of the car

Ligier's gonna take the gamble and split our money as follows:
600k handling
750k top speed
600k reliability
450k ground effects
And, if possible, we'd like to focus on ground effects during the upcoming pre-season test.

Wolf will spend 1.8 million in development, 600k for top speed, grip and reliability. Ground effect upgrades may come later in the season.

After an advice from Willy Kauhsen, Kojima will spend a lot of development in Ground effect, precisely: 400K. Also 100K on reliability, 100K on grip and 100K on top speed. They will be in the test, focussing on the ground effect.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

Can someone please remind me the whole staff with ground effect - how it works in the game and at what e? Also will there be a ban in future?

Re: 1978 Virtual F1 - Engines on page 1
Now what am I going to do with all this money....
Well, first we'll spend 2.4 million on development, split like so:
850k grip
850k top speed
700k reliability
McLaren will also invest 1.6 million into developing ground effects, possibly more depending on what other people (read: Stramala) do. We will also be attending the pre-season test, focusing on ground effects; the drivers will be James Hunt, Tom Pryce, and Danny Ongais, with an invitation sent to Carlos Reutemann if he's not doing anything. We also suggest that it is held at Brands Hatch again.

Ferrari will participate at the pre-season test with GV and Patrese. Development spend TBA. Not sure why McLaren has spend 2.4M on the three main components, an then an extra 1.6M on ground effect on top of that? Is that really allowed?

As far as I'm aware this is not allowed, but if Pi says that ground effects are separate to the 3 areas then we'll have to recalculate our numbers.

It's not allowed. However, the new upgrade regulations allow him to buy the 1.6M ground effect upgrade directly after the first race.
