2015-2016 F1Rejects Street Racing League

Post by Ferrarist »

Yes, you're reading right: The Street Racing League is back, and it runs under the official F1Rejects banner. This time, we'll visit various cities around the world. At least those, who don't suffer from winter ;). I'll use FIA GT3 cars (Based off those that ran at the 2012 Spa 24 Hours, except the Ford Mustang) and xkoranate. Here are the regulations for this series:

- We'll run a maximum of eight races in a schedule from November to February.
- All races will be run on fictional street circuits. Therefore, if you want to contribute a proper track, then feel free to do so.
- Every team hires one professional and one amateur driver. I'll randomly calculate the drivers skills, so no spending war here. ;)
- There will be two races per weekend. One amateur race and one pro race. Both races will run under a distance of 100km. But here's the twist; there will only be a team championship. Therefore, both races will count towards the same championship. Since I'll run this championship under the same points system as F1, a team can theoretically score 50 points per weekend.
- I plan to allow a maximum of 22 teams. However, I'm not too sure if I'll get 22 users to sign up for this championship. So I may also start the championship once we've reached a presentable grid size (Something like 16-17 cars).
- Therefore, there will only be two cars per manufacturer.

Speaking of manufacturers, here are the entered cars for this series:

BMW Z4 GT3
Teams: Linton-Solindahl Racing (Amateur: Paul Traversen Pro: Ryota Wong)
McLaren MP4-12C GT3 (all cars taken)
Teams: Onyx Racing (Amateur: Shane Morris Pro: Vincenzo Sospiri) ; Tassie Racing (Amateur: Barry Edwards Pro: Daniel Martins)
Audi R8 LMS ultra (all cars taken)
Teams: Mattias Kjellerup Racing (Amateur: Mattias Kjellerup Pro: Ryan McReynolds) ; Autodynamics GT Team (Amateur: Pierre Mantovani Pro: Andrea Massini)
Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+ GT3 (all cars taken)
Teams: Grands Traveaux Inutiles (Amateur: Simon Garfünkel Pro: O.N. Duck III.) ; Dreadnought Racing (Amateur: Richard Hershall Pro: Rusty Gannit)
Porsche 997 GT3R
Teams: Euromotor International (Amateur: Daniel Wenroth Pro: Beth Lestrade)
Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3
Teams: W2 Racing (Amateur: Hwok Kwol-Cho Pro: John Bean)
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 (all cars taken)
Teams: Volks.Racing (Amateur: Anita Horford Pro: Kenan Ardaoglu) ; Team James Davies (Amateur: James Davies Pro: James Davies)
Ferrari 458 Italia GT3
Teams: IBR Scuderia Alitalia Ferrari (Amateur: Marcel Agyemang-Badu Pro: Salvatore Miccoli)
Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 (all cars taken)
Teams: Aurico Autosport (Amateur: Ralf Alden Pro: Steven Mackintosh) ; Yagami Racing (Amateur: Satoshi Sakeyama Pro: Mika Yagami)
Dodge Viper Competition Coupe
Teams: Aero Kings Racing (Amateur: Ernest Bruno Pro: Johannes das Schaf)
Jaguar XKR
Teams:

Driver eligibility
Pro Class: Only drivers that have entered at least two F1RWRS or two IndyCar race are eligible.
Amateur Class: Only drivers that have entered at least one race in any other canonical F1Rejects series.

With that said, gentlemen, start your signing! :)

OK, Mattias Kjellerup Racing will join the series. Amateur driver is Mattias Kjellerup (he has competed in the 1991 LifeGP round at Suzuka). I don't own any driver eligible for the pro category, so I'm open to suggestions.

Do the cars all have the same stats or are there differences?

Euromotor International will back at this new Street Racing League format.

As 'pro driver' it means what exactly?

I guess the LifeGP series is canonical, so I'll accept Kjellerup. The pro driver is tricky, though. Maybe you should look up any free agents from both recognized pro series for a start. ;)

They are different. After all, this ain't a one-make series ;).

In their never-ending quest to enter as many different series as possible, Aero Kings Racing will enter with Ernest Bruno as the Amateur driver, when races don't clash with his F1RSTC schedule: when they do, I'll run a guest driver managed by someone else.

I also don't have a pro class driver, so am open to offers....

EDIT: Oh, and Vipers please :D

Since this championship runs in the off-season, I doubt that there will be any clashes at all ;).

So it's back to fictional drivers.
Grands Traveaux Inutiles: Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+ GT3
Pro-driver: available for someone who didn't have the chance to get a team. If no driver is interested, Van Dycke would be the back-up option.
Am-driver: Simon Garfünkel. His career in single-seaters looks to be well and truly over. Maybe he has more luck in GT.

Wasnt this the series that i orginally entered Métro Léger de Charleroi as team? In that case, this is sort of a comeback, as GTI is the very same team.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

Il Barone Rampante will enter a Ferrari 458 Italia under the IBR Scuderia Alitalia Ferrari banner. 2015 IndyCar champion Salvatore Miccoli will be the pro driver and his 'amateur' co-pilot will be 2015 Rejects of LFS champion Marcel Agyemang-Badu.

I would also like to ask why the restrictions on cars and entries? Surely if only 15 people enter, it's better to have 30 cars than 15?

Should such a change be approved, my reserve entry will be another 458 Italia with F1RWRS driver David Koczo and former Prost GP race winner Frédéric-Maxime Voeckler as his amateur co-pilot.

Onyx Racing

Car: McLaren MP4-12C GT3
Pro driver: Open position for any offers until Roy Guidry gets his 3rd IndyCar start where Guidry will take over from that point. But a driver will be needed to fill this position and the first offer will be accepted, even if it's a terrible driver from Jones Racing.
Amateur Driver: Shane Morris, the Australian driver who handles an ill-handling Super Touring Mustang quite well.

I like you. I like you a lot. If you want, you can have (the fictionalised version of) Vincenzo Sospiri, who was 3rd in the 2015 IndyCar championship. Just for that one sentence.

Team James Davies will attempt the Street Racing League with a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. The Pro-driver will be F1RWRS race-winner James Davies, who normally wouldn't care, but he's so desperate to win another race outside of NASCAR he will pretty much accept any offer at this point. The Amateur-driver, however, coming out of retirement, will be none other than F1RGP2C star... James Davies. Mostly because he's kinda bored.

 , looks like we're not familiar with our RWRS canon, are we? ;)

There's two James Davies, a 90's version who competes/ed in F1RGP2C and his 10's namesake F1RWRS driver James Davies. This came about because Salamander used the same name in two series 20 years apart :P

No, they're not related. Just call them James Davies 1 (for the F1RGP2C version) and James Davies 2 (for the F1RWRS version), that's how dinizintheoven worked it out when I kinda forced this problem on him.

As I said folks, you can feel free to create some fictional street circuit for me. I just have these rough guidelines:

- A round around the Gangnam District in Seoul (No jokes here!)
- A round in Kyoto
- An additional round in Australasia
- A round in Nairobi (I'm pretty sure that a round of the F1Rejects Track Creation Challenge was about the creation of a Nairobi Street Circuit)
- A round in Rio de Janeiro
- A round in Miami (I'll probably create this one, since I already have an idea about this venue.)
- Two rounds in Europe.

It would be nice if some talented track builder might help me out here. After all, the faster I get the venues, the faster the championship can start. ;)

We have 15 teams by now, which should be enough for now. I also think that 15-16 car grids should be ok for a series, which runs exclusively at short street courses. In order to fill up the grid, I'll show some love to the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. W2 Racing will enter Hwok Kwol-Cho as an amateur, while John Bean will drive the pro Jaguar.

Here is also the rest of the SRL schedule:

A round around the Seoul Financial District: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5820973
And here's the Taipei track: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5820978
Nairobi will be raced on this track: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5820986
Rio de Janeiro will see the Copacabana GP: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5820991
And here's the race in Miami: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5820999
