Need help with Grandprix manager 1 Microprose

I'd found this cd back again and installed it again, works great on Windows 7.

But now im encountering the same problem as i has in the past.
I started now 4times with Forti and after 1 race im already bankrupt, i just have 4 million to spent orso.
I tried my trick i found out my self years ago by putting the wings on 100 or 0 and set the tyre pressure fully in the red, so at least i managed to be on the podium.

I know i can start the short term contract with Simtek ( The Windfall) but after 2 seasons your just bankrupt also you have 70million in the bank and won once the world title.

Does anyone have tips or tricks for this game ?
or even cheat, there is an Hex edit thing but i never managed to get this perfect always ruined the save game

Well probably im also the only one that can run GPM1 under win 7 64bit without using dosbox or something.
If i search on google. Lets hope someone got some tips and tricks

Unfortunately, my knowledge of GPM1 is very limited, so I do not know any good ways to stay afloat, let alone any cheat codes!

From poking around the hex of the game, I know that cheating was put in the game, but I never got it to work, and the programmer of the game can't remember how it's done either.

I only had GPM2 and I didn't even manage to make that to run... So I had to wait till Grand Prix World came out...

Well i will try tomorrow something, gonna try to manually add the Hex row into it.

Well, I played GPM1 extensively in my day. My first advice is to take care of sponsors; a good ammount of team personnel and development is needed as fast as you can. Drivers and better engine/tyre deals can wait a bit longer, but try to sort financial and development first. Second, don't buy an engine first year, you receive a Nissan engine for free. I'd say get cheapest drivers you can in the beggining. I also found this cheat:

Save your game. Load up your favorite hex editor and open your save game (*.gps). Now go to hex offset A8A. Change the data there so it reads 804a5d05. You should now have $90 million when you load up the game in Grand Prix Manager.

More advice: Getting setup right is crucial, and if you give your drivers "do or die" kind of orders, they will surely crash.

I haven't played GPM1 for ages, but in GPM2 there are paid drivers, who give you a lot of income. So first year in small team it is obligatory that at least one of your drivers pays you for the game.

The problem is that i can't find the line in the hex editor to edit.
For somew reason it is just not there.
Even if you manually add it it doesnt work.

Gonna try to change the game engine... don't know any other option...
