I'm just going batshite insane in the chatroom, seeing both Marussia's and GVDG in Q2.
My friend's USB drive spoiled, spilled tea on her laptop and had a bird poo in her hand.

What did she do in her past life to deserve this?

With van der Garde taking the fastest sector time in sector 3 for good measure - Marussia and Caterham had nothing to lose and everything to gain and it's paid off for both of them spectacularly. Ricciardo and Vergne are not happy with the team now, because it seems that Toro Rosso ordered them out on new inters too early (Sauber made the same mistake with Gutierrez) - and it has cost them very dearly as a result.

Good performance from Van Der Garde and Marussia! There's about eight tenths of a second between Raikkonen and Sutil - very close grid here!!

Fourth straight pole for Hamilton, extending the longest pole streak of his career. PDR 5th equalling Silverstone.

Massive shame for Paul, I thought he had that in the bag...

Anyway, I guess Caterham and Marussia have provided something of a feelgood story this weekend; you'd expect them to drop back, but if the weather's as hectic as today then *fingers crossed*, we're in for a good race. Hopefully.

They almost did it, but unfortunately it looks like di Resta believed that, with the other drivers sliding around, that the times were not going to be getting better (even though Rosberg's time suggested that perhaps things weren't as bad as they thought). Still, all things considered, 5th on the grid is a great result for the team given how much of a struggle they had in Hungary, so on balance I think that they'll still be fairly happy with the result.

And at one point van der Garde was putting Hulkenberg, Sutil and Perez under a bit of pressure too, as he was only a few tenths of a lap behind them in those intermediate greasy conditions. Chilton, meanwhile, was grinning like a kid on Christmas morning - even if van der Garde might have had a fair amount over them, they still managed to get their moment of glory.
