Re: F1 Songbook
I'm suprised at the outcome of this thread, I did not expect some of the posts to be about actual tunes related to F1, this was originally intended to have pun-based humour, but there are two other interesting discussions in play within this thread, songs that bear significance to events in f1, and also songs made by ex-F1 drivers.
Anyways, carry on
.
All the Yoong dudes - David Bowie (and/or) Mott the Hoople.

I thought sarcasm was the lowest form of wit, must have had a 25 second penalty placed upon it then.

Nah, I think sarcasm is a 10 second stop-go penalty and puns are a more lenient drive-thru penalty. Sounds fair?

Maybe a little off topic, but many years ago, I wrote alternative lyrics for the Status Quo – You’re in the army now. This might be the the place where it might be popular. Always my first choice at the Karaoke
You’re in Minardi now.
Unreliable and not so fast
Do your best to avoid being last.
You’re in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
You remember what Stoddard said
Look in the mirrors and move out for the Red
You’re in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
Last season you weren’t doing well
Dennis asked you to go to hell
You're in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
Being backmarker is a painful work
And your teammate is a Hungarian jerk
You're in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
Friday practice - you finish twenty-first
Qualifying also twenty-first
Engine and grip, seems like cursed
You’re in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
In the race your brakes will shake
But Stoddart calls, (Try to overtake)
You're in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
Lapped twice by Barrichello
Need to pit again for stop and go
You're in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
You're in Minardi now
oh oh you're in Minardi now.
Finish 14th, first point have to wait.
Disqualified for being overweight
You're in Minardi now

Re: F1 Songbook
I knew that was going to start a controversy...
To my defense, I wrote this in 2004 and at that moment the sacredness of our much respected gentleman was non-existent. Also, I love all backmarkers so anyone can replace "Hungarian" with any preferable nationality.
