Re: Another wiki!
I think we just need to make a template that's more flexible. One where rows can be left out at will and not mess up the template. Because I'm sick of these long templates with all the boring stats I don't really care about particularly much. If there was one template that could be copied and pasted, that had everything needed in it, but could be removed without a problem, that'd be just great...
We need a discussion, not a vote. I don't care what the vote is, we're not doing it, because this isn't a simple case of A B or C. We come to a proper solution, not a cookie cutter solution. Which is what we'll get with such simplistic decision making.

No one said that the vote HAD to be acted on...
I published the vote to get a view of what people want. But if people want a discussion, I can call off the vote.

1. Number 3 cause I reckon that shows the Canon drivers but number 5 for non-canon
2. Yes cause it will help which person is owned by which driver
3. Yes/No. Yes cause it will remove a lot of red links but no cause there will be too many stub pages. So I am saying top 10 from each series get a page compously

1. I prefer Cynon's, mostly because we can put a whole heap of different series in. If any of the others can do that and look slightly better, then that'd be perfect.
2. Yes, although it could also go on the talk page.
3. Yes, most definitely. Even if it's just an age and nationality.

I thought this was a good idea and tried something like it with my team's page.Klon wrote:Furthermore, one thing I was thinking about: on Wookiepedia, non-canon sections are specifically marked. Maybe we should introduce that to our wiki as well as to allow description of a driver's work in non-canon serieses without posing issues with canon.
Thoughts?

It is where you could put some results and have it on a horizontal row.
This is an example

We'll get Aerospeed on the case as soon as possible. Users have to be approved by him first, as editing rights had to be restricted after a string of spammer attacks.

All that anyone needs to do is ask and also send in their username as well. It's been confirmed now.

Pasta, I know you're changing the results to fit the F1 canon, which is great, but when you do it, can do two things? First, keep the original results somewhere like the talk page, and second, fix the stats at the top of the page. I was about to add Davies' 2005 season stats when I noticed you changed his 2004 results as well, and I can't be bothered going back to see what you did.

I've added Davies' non-canon F1 results to his talk page, and I've also done the same for the Mad Uncle's Melrose-difficult results

If anyone is interested in tackling the monster "2013 Pro Cycling" wiki, I can provide my points standings spreadsheet, It details who scored points and in which tour/event.
Sadly I don't have data on who entered where (besides the points scorers).

The character '!' At the start of the line automatically centres and bolds the text and creates a grey background. With it you can't align the text left or right.
Use '|' instead and you should be fine

Re: Another wiki!
Version 2.1 of the wiki homepage is online in prototype form for your consideration and feedback! It's a small update to the big overhaul a month or two back.
Main changes are;
Anything else you think should be added/removed, please say so now, it'll probably be the last time I do any major work to the page for several months. Speak now or forever hold your peace
Main changes are;
- Former three boxes for series combined into one scrolling list
- Series tables given clearly defined borders, and colouring to differentiate between canon and non-canon
- Scrolling box added to news section to allow for more stories to be listed simultaneously
- Video highlights from RWRS canon events added to foot of page

The wiki definitely looks better now, thanks for putting in the effort Stramala

The only thing I can think of is the F1, F2 and F3 RWRS box and the other series boxes to be merged. This could give a little more space for something else, and then all series would be in on place. At the moment, it looks like F1/F2/F3 RWRS are separate to every other series. Just a suggestion.

This has always been the case however, and a deliberate design feature. I don't believe we need space for anything else in that area, the RWRS is a focal point for F1 Alternate so deserves to be up there on its own. I don't believe there is any need for this to change.

Very very good work Stramala, that front page is looking mighty now, particularly with the video highlights and the individual series logos. I would say that's looking pretty optimal now!

Be wary when editing the wiki at the moment - they are doing maintenance and every now and then you'll get errors.
I just lost a HUGE amount that I did for Formula Community...
Needless to say, back up the code in notepad or something before you preview/submit!

Re: Another wiki!
Now it's getting 502 Bad Gateway errors.
IMO we should re-open the old wiki and use it as a back-up wiki for when the main one goes down.

Guys, try not to make duplicates of existing pages.
Seeing as Salamander's version is more complete, a wiki admin should delete this page asap.
I am also going to start work on a third revision for the wiki homepage, mostly involving removing the poll function. It's a little bit pointless, and destroys the fluid layout when viewed on a smaller resolution or 4:3 aspect monitor.
