Some people consider much of the gun control push and NSA spying measures as a coming "police state" in the US. That is all I want to say on this matter so back to scheduled NASCAR posting by giving the IIDOTR to Jamie McMurray with a strong 5th place finish after having an early race collision with the wall causing a caution period.

He was acting weird, like totally spaced out, and the awkwardness was clear for everyone to see.

Someone speculated that he got concussed after the hit with the wall, but

Hair-gel actually told Jenna Fryer today that he was fine, just angry about wrecking, and that he couldn't here Jerry Punch. So many drivers have "bad" or "maligned" interviews with Punch, that maybe he's the problem?

Hair gel then flowed form by throwing shots at people second guessing his health and the infield care center. Seriously, how does this guy have any fans? Ah, yes, women, I forgot.

Indeed, women are the largest contingency of Kahne fans due to his looks. If Harry Gant had competed regularly in the 1970s, I bet that would have happened to Handsome Harry as well.

Thanks to NASCARs stupidity in allowing the pros to run in the minors, the kid who next year will bring the number 3 back to Cup, was shut out. So what's NASCAR doing? Finally waking up and banning the big boys? Nah, they're discussing a "Chase" for Nationwide. SMH

I think they need to limit the big boys to twelve entries for each Sprint Cup drivers. The Chase wont fix anything if the Cup drivers are still down there.

I can't in words explain how much I agree with this, because of how much it's cheapened the NASCAR championship. At least I, as a Kenseth fan, can proudly say he was the last real champion.

Apparently after every three races the bottom four chase drivers get eliminated leaving the top four to battle it out in the final with even points. I'd say that is better than any of the previous chase systems but still not as good as a normal pre-chase system.

Out of curiosity I did work out who would have won each year without the chase a while back. Jeff Gordon would have taken a fifth title, Kevin Harvick would have won in 2010 while Carl Edwards would have won two including Kensething his way to the 2011 title with just one win. Sadly Jimmie Johnson would still have won his five last year as though he would loose 2007, 2008 and 2010 he would have instead gained 2004 and 2012.

The problem (besides all of it) is that the Charlotte Observer is reporting that the final race will see the remaining drivers have their points zeroed, so the championship will be a one race affair.

This. The first 25 (or 23 they may make the chase 12 races) will set the Chase, then the Chase will eventually set the final 4. Several drivers have answered comments about it on Twitter already (which leads me to believe its a matter of "when" this happens, not if) but Denny Hamlin is the most vocal proponent of it:

NBC is reporting that the new, 16-man elimination Chase will be confirmed tomorrow. Several drivers including Junior, Gordon, and JJ all talked in support of it yesterday. Hoo boy
