Registration Question
Registration Question
Having just registered, I had to find the answer to the question. In my own view, the question is too hard and i didn't find it until i redirected back to your website, which not many people do. I would ask if you could display the answer in a slightly easier way, as it took me well over 5 minutes to find the answer, and I was about to stop. I know many people who would not bother with the hassle, and I was almost one of them. I am asking if you could at least display the answers on the actual forum. I don't want this to come across as a moan, just as a problem that I have no doubt other people will experience.
Re: Registration Question

The question is "Write the first name of one of this site's two owners".
And, sorry if I seem a little insensitive, but I really don't see your problem. It says right at the bottom of the front page of the website, and the front page of the forum contains a link there. The question asks about the site's owners - surely the best place to look for that information would be the site itself?

The reason why the answer is not displayed on the forum and the question is not in actual question form (notice the missing "?") is because the main purpose of it is to prevent spambots, and the previous question in use was too simple and allowed them through as if there was no question at all. So I thought of something that should be very difficult for bots, but not too challenging for humans.

Thats where I got it from, the main page, however if you come directly to the forum it is a bit of a hassle to find.

... except it isn't because, as I said, the front page of the forum contains a link to the F1 Rejects website.

Welcome to the forum!

Re: Registration Question
Thats how I found it :/ However, for a newbie like me there is no explicit message saying that. I found it using that but it is not a stand out option. It is easy for somebody from your perspective to find it after knowing where it is, but somebody who has no clue about the site may not know that. As a side note- Why would people get bots to sign up on forums anyway?

Spam, to advertise. The spambots were so bad that F1 Rejects had a category in their End of the Year awards for Spambot of the Year. As in, for example, Spambot of the Year is basically the award handed to the funniest spambot (one year, a bot copied someone's signature and then went into gibberish about random products, and I think it won). In fact, about 2/3 of the member count here is spambots who have had their posts removed or their accounts innactive after moderators came in.
