I would really like to have GT6 but since my ps3 can't connect to the Internet anymore it won't be a good idea to buy new games....

Why not? Are modern games really that dependent on an internet connection to operate correctly?! I have a PS3 and, although I don't often use it, I haven't found an internet connection necessary to enjoy it (except for BBC iPlayer, obviously...). Even less necessary to enjoy playing on my PSP.

In my opinion, too much modern games need an internet connection to operate correctly, because they are buggy as hell when they hit the shelfs, or get better and better after time because of patches.
With regards to GT6: 2 major patches are already out, and there is much much more to come!
Hopefully somebody can fix my PS3 issue cheap, than i'll be offline for 2 weeks to play Gt6

The games are:
Frozen Synapse
Sleeping Dogs
You'll need a Steam account and a PC capable of running the games in question, but if you don't have a Steam account, I can just send it to you via email - the email itself will explain how to set everything up.
Just bringing this on to the latest page if anyone is interested in the games left.

I've had F1 2013 for 3 days. I don't see much of an improvement on 2012, except the safety car (it popped up in my first career race) and the AI, as the AI is better and can be prone to make mistakes (which is why the safety car popped up in my first career race, 5 cars took each other out simultaniously without my input). The 80s cars with the normal edition are cool to drive, but they feel as if they're too fast (but that could be the amount of power as well). The scenarios seem to be cool.

Now, for my first 8 hours if GT6, and all I have to say is that despite its small flaws that I like to complain about, it is much better than GT5. I've already come close to unlocking the IA events, even if I haven't participated in just about everything. It is easy to get credits, which I like, and the new star system for experience is better than the old XP system. I also like how you can use a large variety of cars to complete a series, which taies the strain off money.
So far, the coolest features are the Goodwood FOS and the Lunar Rover mission. Hands down.

The 1980s cars really did have that much power. The Megatron engine had 1300 horsepower.

Yeah, the Lotus 98T on F1 2013 was a complete bastard. So was the Williams FW07, but at least that had less power.
My ranking of the 80s cars in F1 2013:
Most driveable
1. Lotus 100T
2. Williams FW12
3. Ferrari F187/88c
4. Williams FW07
5. Lotus 98T
Most Fun
1. Lotus 98T (heck, just trying to make it around Jérez once was hard but fun )
2. Ferrari F187/88c
3. Williams FW07
4. Williams FW12
5. Lotus 100T (indeed the easiest to drive is the most tame)
Fastest
1. Ferrari F187/88c
2. Lotus 98T
3. Williams FW12
4. Lotus 100T
5. Williams FW07
Just to pit things into perspective. The best overall out of this list is indeed the last Ferrari F1 car Enzo saw race.

I do agree that it's way easier to gain credits without having to go online, especially if you do managed to unlock the s-class races, which takes 20-25 minutes and I ended up doing the Ascari 10-lap, Brands hatch 15-lap and willow springs 20-mile a lot of times to gain credits that I spent buying race cars or high end supercars.
Also I do agree that the Goodwood FOS and the Lunar Rover Missions were also fun aspects of this game while it lasted!
And FYI, I am just one PSN trophy away (the one that you need to buy 100 cars) from getting the platinum trophy for this game! Too bad I don't have the optimal internet speed to race online with your guys. Yeah, it's only a matter of time until I manage to get it!

I imagine that's a cheap and perfectly valid way to do it, I guess. But, given my dad, who wants to share the same file as me doesn't want me to buy ANY piece of junk street car, I would prefer not to do that to piss him off and rather only get the cars that he wants to drive, like the full blown LMP1's, Group C, Super GT 500 and 300 class cars, and some supercars that he finds to his liking. Yeah, I know it takes a whole lot more credits to do so, but I prefer having most of the worthy race cars and supercars rather than a garage full of used cars!

Is it any good? Even after playing it only once I find it a bit boring and ordinary as it more limited than the Forza games.

I found it to be fun. It's much better than GT5, is you've played that variation of the GT series. There is a lot better gameplay in my opinion, as when you progress through career, the races get harder and the grids actually get bigger than 12 cars. The car sounds still suck, but really, it doesn't boter me when driving. However, as I play it more, it seems that when using a Driving Force GT wheel, which is the only thing I use for racing games that allow wheels, the driving experience deems a bit tame. I have Force Feedback turned all the way up, yet I barely feel the kerbs, if not at all. The bumps on the road surface itself are good, but the lack of response to kerbs make it more tame than it should. It may be that way for this wheel only, but I don't know.
I have never played Forza, nor have an Xbox or Xbone. But the fact that you can customize the hell out of your cars in Forza is a very nice feature compared to GT, where the only customization is tuning parts (all of which are basically the same for all cars), aero kits (again, same for all cars), and normal servicing (again the same for all cars). Oh, I dare not mention the paint items you get when you get a car. But I will anyway. My opinion of repainting a car in GT is very low. Why? Well, it's because you can only repaint a car with paint items you've acquired over time from buying cars, so if you're one who doesn't like to repaint cars or is one who likes to create an oddity, do your best to get that out of a cars paint job before it leaves the dealer. That's my main rule in terms of paint, although I do get crazy. Like in GT5, I bought a VW Golf, tuned it for rallying, and then repainted it pink out of pure boredom

I'm considering that route as well. Whilst the PS4 is cheaper, the X1 does have more to offer, and I think it will be the better investment in the long run. Whatever happens, it's looks like it's going to be a very interesting console war. (Possibly not seen since the Sega Genesis/Super Nintendo era.)

Wow, you guys literally could not have picked a worse time to think about getting an Xbone, what with all the reliability issues that are becoming known.
The best option right now is to just save up your money and get a decent gaming PC. There are more exclusive games for PC than the Xbone and PS4 combined, several times over... not to mention Steam, GOG, Desura, etc. are all far better ways to buy games than the options that are open to consoles right now.

Re: The "You're Winner!" Gaming Thread
I'm a proud owner of a PS4, along with a fairly decent PC. The thing can run rFactor good enough on full settings and a 30 car grid, and Minecraft too, so there we go.
As for PS4 vs Xbone, I'm firmly in the PS4 camp. Whilst I admit the 360 outclassed the PS3 in some respects, Sony have thankfully upped their game a little and the Xbone just really doesn't compare. Especially as it's a hundred quid dearer.
I see no problem with sticking with the old gen for a while, but I wouldn't go out and buy a brand new 360/PS3..... that's just silly. Only a monkeyman would do that...

I've been using PC's since I was 6, and I've never had a motherboard fail on me. Viruses are no problem if you're not a cheapskate and skimp on protection - hell, even then, there are plenty of free anti-virus solutions that work quite well - and DRM also isn't really an issue if you use Steam or a similar service. The only real drawback is the initial cost of the hardware, which is offset somewhat by the fact that all the games are cheaper than on consoles, especially if you take advantage of online sales.

I've had 3 motherboard failures in my lifetime, and two of them were bought off the self. (An HP and a Dell. The other was custom built with a supposedly "good" motherboard.) The free anti viruses do work, but to a certain degree, and the good ones require a way overpriced yearly payment. Yes, I do use Steam, and GOG, but they don't always have what I want on sale at certain times, nor what I am looking for. I still prefer physical copies over digital ones. Just incase. (Such as a problem with the computer, or internet loss, or some other random thing that could happen.)
Look, I'm not trying to start anything, I just stating what I have gone through experience.

Motherboard failures are only usually because of a short circuit or due to a power surge. Or if someone is working on them and rubbed their socks on a rug and didn't ground themselves. So you either forgot to ground yourself (which is unlikely, considering your background in computers) or you got screwed. I'd try looking for a different manufacturer.

We will NEVER see epicness like that again. EVER. The stuff that came out...the games, the ads, it was heaven. With my background, I've thought about writing an oral history of the console wars. I think it'd sell. And hell, if not, it'd be fun as hell to do, and would show these kids what gaming's glory days were like.

Lighting strikes are pretty common here in Florida, but I always use a surge suppressor. Whenever I have worked on my own PCs, I'm always careful about grounding the computer. I did 2 years of PC repair in college, and over time you can get an idea of what's good, and what's unreliable. But even so, you can get screwed if you're not careful. Luckily for me, my last mother board failed while still under warranty, so it didn't cost me anything.

Re: The "You're Winner!" Gaming Thread
Sorry to be a bit off topic here but is this site a good place to download GPM2?
http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/912/G ... ger+2.html
I ask because me and my dad were discussing who owns the copyright to it.

Does listening to a dog licking its balls get you excited?

I'm pretty sure Nuppiz has done so much modding work with GPM2 that he effectively owns the copyrights now

It's a good site to download if you want the old, unpatched original game with mostly fictional drivers outside the actual 1996 lineups (Taki Inoue being the only exception, as his Minardi contract was cancelled at such a late stage in the pre-season).
If you want the mods that improve many things, look no further than these two:
http://www.gpm2world.com/
http://www.forum.gpracegames.com/viewforum.php?f=9
Take note that all mods are stand-alone (meaning every mod includes all files necessary to run the game), and you should NEVER install two mods in the same folder. Also, this: http://forum.gpm2world.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=867

Wow, thanks for all the info mate1
Sorry if this is a stupid question but will I need the game to use the mods?

No, you don't need the original game to run a mod. Every mod includes all of the game files needed to run it completely stand-alone.

Cheers for that mate!
Edit: On the 1991 mod, I developed Active Suspension and aparently, it's ilegal. Does anybody know why?
