Eh, so what exactly is this series about? I suppose your meaning is that other members can join this, pick a team, pick drivers and have an influence on the calendar and possibly technical regulations. But on the other hand you've already predetermined the test lineups and 80% of the race calendar, so I'm not sure if this is supposed to be an interactive story or a full-blown PMMF series. :?

This is 80% decided by me, but you can vote for the remaining 20%

WHAT.

Michael Andretti only came out of retirement for the Indy 500, and is busy running a team in IndyCar. Bobby Rahal has been retired for 5 seasons now, and is also running a team in IndyCar. Takuma Sato is busy having his best year in F1. Tiago Monteiro is fighting for the World Series by Nissan title. Mika Hakkinen is looking to get back into F1 with Williams, or get into DTM. Alain Menu hasn't touched a single-seater since 1991. Ralf Schumacher is busy conning people into thinking he's the third-best driver in F1. Hector Rebaque has been retired for TWO BATHPLUGGING DECADES. Jacques Villeneuve is still thinking he has business in Formula 1. Alex Zanardi is only just getting back into touring cars in 2004. Luca Badoer is busy making the F2004 an all-conquering beast. Jack Miller couldn't hack it in IndyCar when its field was 90% useless stooges and Tony Stewart. David Coulthard is busy getting his ass handed to him by Kimi Raikkonen. Jason Plato is busy making his return to the BTCC. And Michael Schumacher is busy stomping everyone else in F1.

The cars will have new engines for this season, you can now vote for the horsepower number.

... why is this a thing that needs to be voted on? As opposed to the guest drivers, which, as I've already pointed out, is a load of rubbish?

On roblomas' behalf, I will suggest 1000bhp.

I was actuallly thinking of 850hp but with a push to pass button which can be used as often as required takinng the power up to 1000hp but at the expense of fuel econermy.

Not to mention that CART is an US series with a few outing elsewhere. So what it would need above anything else are SEVERAL US DRIVERS! Nobody would care about Schumacher or Coulthard or Badoer or Hakkinen in the US, because they know nothing about them. They would be only some supposed-to-be-famous drivers in a third world country (i.e.: Europe :P), but that's all. They are no heroes the Americans would want to watch,
Not to mention that Salamander pointed out exactly why neither of them would leave their current championship for CART.

Because of a lot of critism, I've decided to not use the guest driver format, but there will be 3 extra drivers in the last race, for which you can vote later.

It's not a bad idea. Just use drivers that aren't completely ridiculous to have.

There are plenty of promising drives in the US open-wheel and NASCAR championships who could be used, and there are several F1 dropouts who would make sense trying to gain some reputation in CART.

Testing Times with old-spec cars:

Bourdais: 1.11.004
Junqueira: 1.11.314
Tracy: 1.11.408
Heidfeld: 1.11.905
Pantano: 1.11.982
Panis: 1.12.307
Carpentier: 1.12.310
Bräck: 1.12.996
HWNSNBM: 1.14.340
Lavin: 1.14.717
Jourdain: 1.15.204
Vasser: 1.15.372
De Ferran: 1.15.600
Dominguez: 1.16.103
Servia: 1.16.162
Wurz: 1.17.378
Moreno: 1.17.520
Enge: 1.18.101
Takagi: 1.18.783
Janis: 1.19.006
Haberfeld: 1.19.458
Verstappen: 1.20.374
Wilson: 1.20.880
Hattori: 1.20.893
Verstappen: 1.21.012
Sperafico: 1.22.309

Please note that some drivers were testing for qualifying, some for race and some just collecting information, hence the massive field spread and pretty unrealistic results.
