Re: PMMF Planning Thread
I could quite easily modify my excel sheet for rallying, but wouldn't have the time to run the actual series. It would be easy enough to teach someone how to use it, though.

Re: PMMF Planning Thread
I might create a series based in 2013 using AustralianStig excel sheet. I don't know what series I will do but a couple of thoughts
[*]World Touring Car Championship
[*]IndyCar
[*]Bike Racing
[*]Rallying
So which one would you prefer?

Re: PMMF Planning Thread
I've looked into using rFactor for a rallying championship and have determined that the most effective way of running a rally stage would be to run a private qualifying session - all cars still run at the same time, just not against each other on the road. However, many tracks don't work with this due to point to point races not being an intended feature... so for some stages I may use circuits instead of point to point tracks.
This is a cool spot.

Re: PMMF Planning Thread
I may start playing around with GP2 again, even though I never actually drive in the game myself.
Anyway, anyone remember Julia Wurz's novel "Superego"? I may do a small series that brings the story to life. I would plan to start at the 2010 season, when Dupont debuted. I may do other lunacy as well, like Tony Fernandes buying Renault, Audi selling engines in F1 as Lamborghini, and Aston Martin returning to the grid![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
I'll practice with GP2 to see how it works on my laptop, but I may need some help devising rules and an upgrade system. Would anyone be interested in participating in this non-canon series, and are there any ideas on how to run the series in terms of upgrades and the like?

Re: PMMF Planning Thread
I'm very interested in this series. I wouldn't have much of a clue as to how it should be run though. I'm sure some more intelligent individuals han myself have good ideas.

Yes I have, in order to change the driver names on the cars, do you have to go into the talent files and change it through there.
Having said yes, I have only actually been playing the game for 2 weeks but have spent upwards of 2 months planning.

Before I sign up for anything, I have to ask: how long do you expect it to take to run a season, and how much input from us would you need?

I could probably do a race every 2 or 3 days so that would be a few months.
As for the amount of input from users, it would just be the usual team, user, 2 race drivers and test driver, and livery request. slagging off other drivers is optional!

I'm thinking of doing a series similar to Klon's Superhuman Speedway Series using xkoranate and something near and dear to my heart: magical girls. Same sort of deal, you have characters with special powers for impeding others, protecting yourself or improving your lap times as your drivers, and may the best driver win.
Some say he plans to put an S921 on the Goodwood 2012 run, and that he DOES know what Deletraz is doing.
All we know is...he's called Perry McCarthy!
...we'll never see an S921 at Goodwood, will we?

Basically, you want to do something like MiniDrivers, but then as a game?

No, I wouldn't dream of that. The odd nosecone on the other hand...
Now, I had two ways of approaching this-I had the more fanciful one where they raced in things that flew, or the more down-to-earth one where it was a recognizably open-wheel thing which went to actual circuits. What would everybody interested prefer?

Alright, it's almost been a week and I haven't collected any more answers, so we're going to be doing this with WipEout-esque flying machines.
One last thing: I'd like everyone to check the title. I'll use the name I wanted to for a personal writing project: the CIFM Formula Magica World Championship, Presented by the PMMF.
...I somehow suspect this is too long.

Re: PMMF Planning Thread
Another idea that I might or might not run: GT300 World Championship! Obviously, starring JGTC/Super GT GT300 class cars, both new (Subaru BRZ, Honda CRZ Hybrid, Toyota Prius Hybrid, BMW Z4 GT3, Porsche 911 GT3) and old (ASL Garaiya, Toyota Celica T230, Nissan Silvia S15, Mazda RX-7 FD, Mooncraft Shiden, Mitsubishi FTO, Subaru Impreza, Lexus IS350), with guest appearance of Renault Sport Megane Trophy. All races will be held in street circuits only (so far: Tokyo R246, Lippo Village, Adelaide, GT4 Hong Kong, Valencia F1, Birmingham Superprix, Detroit Belle Isle, and Molson Vancouver) and teams will be required to run two drivers, one real, one fictional.
I might also add the "mother chassis" (using M101 chassis and one-make 4.5 V8 engine) stuff to the series, but I don't fully understand that yet, especially with only two cars confirmed IRL.
Thoughts?![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Yeah, there are already quite a few going. You will need to be sure that yours is different to all of the ones that are already going.

It's an all-female racing series. I got the idea from Turbogirl's series.

dinizintheoven has also previously done something similar. Will it be a continuation of these concepts, or will you bring something different to this? (I'm not saying one or the other is better, it just depends on how you execute the idea). But before you start it, be sure to do a mini-trial run of it first, EXACTLY as you really will run it, just to make sure the idea works.

The trial run is a good idea because everything needs balancing and its the best way to try your ideas out.

Don't bother suggesting something if you've no intention of doing it yourself.
Mak Corp has created an rF2 mod for Formula E, but it isn't on public release. You gotta go to the venues and use the on-site simulators to use it. There are no rights for them to distribute it publically yet.
If the people want it, the series will appear in due course. No rush.
Re: PMMF Planning Thread
I've been discussing the chance, this weekend, in the chat, of RWRS and AutoReject joining forces as a way to have a main trunk with all the main series, given that there's a few people who isn't running their series as projected (and I'm not telling anyone how to run their series but NOT RUNNING A SERIES YOU PROMISED affects the whole canon, specially F3RWRS). We need to have the competent people at running series together and have a main trunk, since I feel the canon won't grow much more in levels of involvement and it's increasingly harder to synchronize loads of people keeping a calendar together. So again, I'm not telling anyone how they should run their series, but Canon should have a few rules about running that everyone should adhere to, to avoid these kind of problems.
I, for my part, I'd be Ok with the following single seater structure within Canon, with RWRS joining the AR banner or using a completely new one like Biscione suggested.
First tier with
AR IWC -if it ever happens-
Current F1RWRS
Second tier with
AR 3.5
Current F2RWRS -I think they can co-exist under the same banner without any problems-
AR IA -if it ever happens-
Current FRENCH as a side and intermediate Series -which would be called AR Nippon or Velocity Nippon if we take Biscione's name-
Third tier with
Current F3RWRS -if Lappy gets on with it, but if he won't I suggest taking it out of the main trunk-
AR 2.0 E
AR 2.0 NA
I'd also invite people who are doing an excellent job running their series under the main trunk name, like RRR running GTR.
This is more or less my idea, feel free to yell at me or whatever.

Introducing my latest brainchild: AutoReject Nations Championship!
Using the old A1GP car, the Lola B05/52, I intend to create an international winter championship in which nations compete with each other. It'll be much like the Nations Cup, but much shorter.
TEAM REQUIREMENTS
I will provide a list of selectable nations. Each member will be allowed to run one nation, and may select up to three where the team will be selected via RNG. The member will then be able to select two drivers of that nationality (provided their DEC holder gives permission, since people kicked off the last time anything like this was attempted). The maximum number of cars will be decided once the format is decided upon.
CALENDAR
There will only be seven rounds. Each round will take place in a different continent, with the final round being voted for.
The series will take place once the majority of series are over (barring Winter series, of course.)
