100207 Off-Season Edition

Post by Kuwashima »

G'day everyone

Another month, another podcast. This one was recorded on Monday 1st, so it's now a few days behind the times - but its our usual typical rambling fare, so masochists who generally like the podcast won't mind. We cover the news since January and the team launches (car designs and liveries) plus a cracking GMIF1P from the master, James Hunt.

Enjoy. Or at least, endure.

Cheers,
Jamie

I have one question for you. Why is it that everytime you release a podcast I get my internet speedcapped which means I have to wait a few days before I can download it? Conicidence? I THINK NOT
Anyways I'll give my usually positive opinion on it in a few days

Button Bridge

Post by chrismcn »

I predict that the new bridge have an outstandingly smooth style that promises dramatically speedy journey times in its early years but deliver routine disappointment only to be spotted crossing much more glamourous rivers in the South of France and Caribbean in the tabloid press. Eventually the bridge will carry a massive amount of traffic extremely efficiently due other bridges wrongly applying much slower tarmac. The bridge will then pretend to it needs a new challenge by being paired with a younger faster bridge in the process picking a huge paycheque and keeping the sponsors happy. The sponsors will supply the younger bridge with heaps of cash to buy new tarmac and Button Bridge will retire to crossing a much warmer more glamorous tax free river.

Can I also predict a Prost/Senna or Schumacher/anyone in his way, type incident where Button takes out his main rival Lewis Hamilton thereby incurring a one race penalty around the time the bridge is opened and make the heavily laboured and tortured joke (sic) The Button Suspension Bridge.

Only 5 podcasts to go until number 100! Assuming that there will be a season preview and one after each of the Bahrain, Australian, Malaysian and Chinese GPs, I predict that the 100th will be out at around the end of April?

Well I enjoyed it, he said into deafening silence.

Are you guys planning on a final pre-season podcast once testing is completed? One final sum up of the news over the off season, the USF1 and Campos Meta obituaries, who looks fast and who looks pants.

That would be cool to listen to.

I was absolutely exhausted a couple of nights ago, but I still made a point of listening to the podcast before I went to sleep.

Well, I fell asleep halfway through, and because my iPod was on repeat it was playing in my ears, over and over, for the whole night. It played through about 12 times. Strange dreams were had that night.

Listened to it properly though, 'twas another great podcast. Well done guys!

I reckon we're all officially now in the StefanGP bandwagon, then. Fair game.

Get Cowboy-ashi to drive for StefanGP's number 2 car (alongside HWNSNBM), and the podcast will simply implode.

You've managed to create a good edition of the podcast without any racing action to report on whatsoever.
Does GP2 Asia still exist?

Still, you got away with not playing the Chinese F1 Idol theme upon mentioning the name of Ho Pin Tung. Please bring back the theme - or tell us you can't because it's a licensing issue instead ;-)

It has been recorded, despite the fact that Kuwashima and I are on different continents right now! :)

Although I have to say, this year we will have to ask for everyone's patience in terms of podcasts, race reviews etc. Much has been said re the fact that I now have two kids under 2 - and we have to find ways of recording podcasts so as not to wake them up - but Kuwashima is also moving up in the world. He's not one to blow his own trumpet about these things, but he's risen through the rugby refereeing ranks and will make his debut as a 4th official (supervising the substitutions) in a Super 14 match this Friday night. Having landed back in the country on Friday morning.

If you don't know what the Super 14 is, try: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_14. It's the biggest rugby tournament in the southern hemisphere.

In other words, Kuwashima's a busy chap these days as well.

What match is it??? I'd quite like to see a clip of Jamie in action. Congratulations on your progression up the ranks, my Dad refereed football for a while and only succeeded in having numerous arguments and rows with teams, players, fellow officials and even the local governing body.

I'm not fussed about the timing of podcasts, I'm amazed at the site's output as it is and I'd happily wait for longer between shows. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder after all...
