And the other driver will probably be 33% Haryanto, 33% Rossi and 33% Stevens (7 races each).

That sounded like they are going to do some weird genetic experiment!

And if America gets cancelled or whatever, Manor will have to bring back shared drives again :D

A combination of the three would be great for Manor. Rossi's driving skills, Haryanto's money and Stevens' experience or something.

Not to go of the deep end, but I actually predict Haryanto will take Wehrlein to school this year. The latter will get sacked for underperforming and be replaced by Rossi, who would actually score a shock podium.

I'll eat my hat if that happens. I'll even post a video.

Since I am still not a fan of Wehrlein and Mercedes insistence with him, I also hope it happens. Anyway, I will watch them closely. I am curious about what the pair will do and who knows, maybe I will become Pascal fan.

The tension will be palpable if things are close between him and Haryanto; people are expecting a huge performance differential between the pair. I expect a higher frequency of strong results from Wehrlein, but as long as Haryanto doesn't get fatigued over the season he may be able to creep up on his team-mate.

It all depends on whether or not Pascal buckles under the shear load of his first international season. It's also interesting to see if the shorter period of time between each race will affect his ability to function at his highest potential.

For anyone who missed it, this was the new logo for a while, but it appears they've since gone back to a black and white version like before.

New, non-Indonesian sponsor alert!

Manor have signed a deal with Rebellion Timepieces (yes, the same people that bankroll the LMP1 team) to be their official timing partner. Logos on the gloves and wing mirrors so nothing huge, but a start nonetheless!

I remember reading about this a while back. Apparently it's a personal investment from Stephen Fitzpatrick, it has nothing to do with Ovo.

Yeah I think he stated that the two were very separate things and he wanted Manor to be a personal project and not for people to think it's being bankrolled by income from Ovo, which I guess might tarnish their image as a supposed "good guy" in the energy sector, as if anyone believes that!

So there's an online poll after every race as to who the best driver of the day was, which the FIA will just ignore and give their own result to?

So, apparently Adrian Campos thinks Rio Haryanta is a junior racer equal to or even superior than Stoffel Vandoorne because he beat him several times in junior series. Given that Vandoorne performed brilliantly in McLaren, and Haryanto is beaten big time by Wehrlein, by Adrian's logic they could put Pascal into that McLaren and excpect a podium, no less.

Well, since Pascal Wehrlein is a World Champion in the making, Rio getting beaten hard by him is not really an argument against him. Although a podium in that McLaren may be a bit too much to ask (although regular points would be easily achieved :P )

So, because Rio beat Stoffel in a few of the sprint races and one feature race last year (and probably a couple races from '14), they're of similar skill level? Right... I guess Herbert's two gifted wins in '95 makes him level with Schumacher (who was taken out both races) as well.

Not sure how reliable a source Autoweek is, but they've reported that Haryanto hasn't paid up. He still owes nearly $5 million to Manor

Indonesia's solution? Get all his fans to text "RIO" three times a day to give enough monies to keep Rio on the grid. My god, this is Reject gold. :badoer: :pantano:

Autoweek isn't the source. It's a republished newswire story from the notoriously unreliable Global Motorsport Media.

It sounds plausible though, at least. Mid-season replacement on the cards? Who has cash to burn?

It's been calculated that Haryanto needs 12.4 million text messages to keep his drive. From what I've read, most of the money has been paid up, there's this additional element required to keep his seat that isn't coming from sponsors, hence the fundraiser.

Indonesian source (not sure on reliability!)

Given how the driver of the day vote goes every race, I think this is the one instance that crowdfunding could actually work (in a long-term way) in F1!

We already had one case albeit a bit different. Kamui Kobayashi's return to Caterham was at least partially crowdfunded. If it worked for him, it can work for Haryanto.
