I used a couple of parking lots in good American fashion. Hope this doesn't make any problems ;)

No problems at all. This is meant to be an all-American challenge after all!

Here's my offering, the Indy GP @ Garfield Park

Had to cut down a couple of trees, hope that's acceptable.

I think that the White River Street Circuit is a step up from the durge that I've been pumping out recently. I'm very happy with this one, so much so that I'm putting a screenshot up as well.

I thought it would be fitting to have an oval(-ish) street circuit: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6878946

Well y'know there's the military monument in Indy. My idea is to follow the streets around it so here it is

This can go to a public vote. I haven't had much time to go through them all individually, and won't any time soon.

On the basis that I'm not allowed to vote for myself:

  1. Novitopoli
  2. Watka

Also, even though I'll likely not win, can I suggest the next challenge as being to create an old-style slipstreaming circuit á la Zandvoort / Hockenheim / Monza / Silverstone of the late 70s or so.

Sure, you could suggest it, but there is no obligation at all for the winner to go with it by any means. I reckon that it is better to save up a few ideas, so that if and when you do win a challenge, you have those few ideas to choose from and to put forward as your challenge.

I genuinely don't, I just miss those kinds of circuits - especially as Monza looks set to be the last to fall

OK then.

I'd rather leave Aislabie's idea for him to put forward after his next win ;)

My challenge is: design a 2,5 miles (4,0 km for the rest of the world) long superspeedway...and a road course using at least parts of it. How your speedway should be shaped is left to your creativity ;) Just be somehow realistic and don't tear down any buildings!

I present the Long Island International Speedway.

The Speedway is just short of 4km long, and the road course roughly 4.63km long.

The road course section obviously weaves under/over the oval section, just like Monza with its oval.

The Gambian National Motordrome
  • Superspeedway: 2.53 miles, 5 turns
  • Interior circuit: 1.83 miles, 13 turns (including North-East Chicane)
  • Brooklands Memorial circuit: 1.47 miles, 7 turns (bypassing North-East Chicane)

[LINK]

I really just wanted to make a wonky oval and Campbell-shaped circuit in memory of Brooklands. The third circuit came on a bit of a whim.

Pick a reject driver. Look at his birthplace. Your job is to design a street circuit of between 3.5 and 7 km in that driver's place of birth. Good luck!

You know what, I may have already announced the results based on the previous three entries (48 hour deadline after last entry and all that), but I'll now delete that post and open this up again for more entries. I'll also put this to a vote to give the previous runners-up a chance ;)
