Does it make a difference if I'm Coulthard or Klien?
Also if I just stick it on F1 06 "quick race" I'm going to be able to put myself on pole without having to qualify for it, however on GP4s quick race I dont think they can.

Sorry if I missed this in a previous thread, but what exactly is the rules regarding qualifying? f1C you can set the grid position manually and skip qualifying if it's a pre-set thing.

Thanks for spoiling my fun...lol.
BTW what if the AI cars hit YOU? In GP4 the Williamses have a habit of trying to ram me off the road on every lap and pull a Schumacer '94 when I try to overtake them (oh the irony...)

I'm going to re-emphasise this question, because I dont think the tyre and fuel can be "scaled" on GP4 either, therefore I'm going to put my F1 06 fuel & tyre wear as "Realistic"
Already this championship has a loophole :-S.

Correct on all counts. Plus the minimal difference of performance on GP4, Tyre wear dictating pace rather than fuel load etc...

Re: F1 Rejects World Championship - Round 1
Which means I'm going to be spending time in the pitlane, when its valuable time lost to those running GP4, therefore me and all the other F1 06 runners are at a a disadvantage.

Each game is going to have its own championship as car perfromance and track layout is obviously different on each game. The only championship that will be held over the 4 games is the constructors championship.
In F106, the "race weekend" mode is to be used, as you can set up the car and qualify for the race.
This is a cool spot.

Sorry about that, Sauber010. I forgot to put your name on the entry list for this round as you didn't mention which game you are going to play. (The games you can choose from are GP4, F106, F1 Career Challenge and F1 Challenge '99-'02 and you can play two of the games which will both count toward the constructors championship).
This is a cool spot.

Haha exellent, I get to be Jaques Effing Villeneuve for my fist race!
F1 challenge 99-02 rules seem pretty good, about the level I play at now so it should be rather fun!
Good luck guys, Jaques is fired up in his two-tone fag packet on wheels!

Done & mailed mine since I'll be busy for the rest of the week. That was fun. Although I forgot how stupid the backmarkers can be in GP4. Enge is particularly cringeworthy, he either locks up or brakes a week early on every single corner. Like having an alcoholic on the track.
Bonus fun, spot what's wrong with this pic (aside from me deliberately editing out my race time):

Same as Enoch's "Massa" shirt. The helmet isn't Yoong's but that of Tarso Marques who started the season at Minardi.

That error is fixed in the 9.6 patch
There's also an error with both BARs in the original game which is fixed on 9.6... guess what it is

I thought I had the 9.6 patch...
Anyway, that's not what I was looking for, because I didn't notice that. I was looking at the car having #21 on it, whilst Yoong is #20.

MinardiFan, does this mean his official result is a DNF?

BTW I can't save screenshots with F11 (like it suggests in the text file in the game) and PrintScreen doesn't capture the game at all. What can I do?

Re: F1 Rejects World Championship - Round 1
Did my race yesterday, a lot of fun! Results are about to be mailed but I'll give everyone a race report here without disclosing any times
During practice I had a nightmare trying to set the car up nicely, it just wasn't happening for me. I eventually found a fairly decent setting and called it a day as I was in too bad a mood to qualify there and then!
Onto qualifying, and its surprising what a night's sleep can do, for some reason the car felt much better despite it being the exact same set up and whilst I had visions of Zonta out-qualifying me (he was faster in practice!) I actually managed to pull a blinder of a lap out and line up 9th. Here is the grid:
1. M Schumacher
2. Hakkinen
3. Coulthard
4. Barrichello
5. R Schumacher
6. Trulli
7. Wurz
8. Hill
9. AndreaModa
10. Panis
11. Badoer!
12. Zanardi
13. Frentzen
14. Alesi
15. Fisichella
16. Gene
17. Irvine
18. Herbert
19. Takagi
20. De La Rosa
21. Zonta
22. Diniz
And so the race itself. Conditions of course were sunny and warm, and the race was 17 laps. I didn't get a great start, passed by both Hill and Panis, though going into Turn 1 I outbreaked Hill on the inside, though Panis came howling through across the grass on the inside of T1 and passed us both to take 8th. On the run down to Turn 3 I managed to build up enough speed to pass both Panis and Wurz and then outbreaked both Trulli and Ralf on the inside to take 5th. What a blinding couple of corners! At the front it was Hakkinen leading Schumacher away with Coulthard and Barrichello chasing. All four rapidly pull away from me in 5th and the enormous train of cars forming behind me (it must have gone back to at least 13th) to the point where by lap 6, Barrichello is 20 seconds up the road from me!
On lap 5, Hill and Wurz have a moment at Turn 1, Hill taps Wurz's left rear and the Austrian spins 180 degrees though neither suffer damage. Hill therefore is upto 8th and Wurz drops to the back of the train behind me. On lap 8, I steal the limelight by getting it all wrong on the exit of Turn 5 which I'd been having troubles with all weekend, I get on the grass and spin back across the track. Poor old Ralf who'd been up my arse since I'd got past him had nowhere to go and smashed straight into my sidepod and then ricocheted into the inside wall where he lost his front wing. By some miracle I suffer no serious damage but in the ensuing mess loose two places to Trulli and Hill and so now lie 7th. Ralf had to pit for a new wing and dropped right down though recovered to eventually finish 14th.
At the start of lap 9, Zanardi has a huge accident just before Turn 1 as Frentzen gets his braking all wrong and punts his right rear tyre, destroying the rear wing and putting Zanardi into the wall where he looses his front wing also. He made it back to the pits to retire and unsurprisingly Frentzen lost his front wing too which he had to pit for. Onto lap 13 and a wide running Irvine in 10th place at Turn 5 is slow into Turn 6, catching Fisichella unawares, who then ploughs into the back of the Ferrari, removing Irvine's rear wing and Fisi's front wing. This puts Irvine out and the resulting pitstop for Fisichella drops him down to last place. Into lap 14, Coulthard gets gearbox problems, touring round the circuit back to the pit lane where he retired. This promotes Barrichello to the final podium position, Trulli to 4th, Hill to 5th and myself to a rather useful 6th! The train had shortened significantly by the last few laps with all the incidents behind me, and the positions remained the same as I gave BAR their first ever point (slightly premature to real events!)
The final results:
1. Hakkinen
2. M Schumacher
3. Barrichello
4. Trulli
5. Hill
6. AndreaModa
7. Panis
8. Alesi
9. Herbert
10. Diniz
11. Wurz
12. Zonta
13. Badoer
14. R. Schumacher
15. Frentzen
16. Gene
17. De La Rosa
18. Takagi
19. Fisichella
-- Coulthard, Gearbox, 13 laps
-- Irvine, DNF, 12 laps
-- Zanardi, DNF, 8 laps
So a point for AndreaModa so far, but with the pace of the BAR I wouldn't fancy my chances for many more over the rest of the season!

Damnit RBJ. You crashed out before you could witness the horror that is the EJ-11 on a full fuel load (Trust me I've spent so much time in the EJ-11 it's not funny and it's an absolute b**** to keep that thing on the road)

No, it doesn't mean redbulljack's result is a DNF as you can attempt each race as many times as you want each week before submitting results.
Did my race yesterday in Yuji Ide's Super Aguri and actually won the race by over a minute (yes, the easy mode on F106 is really that easy). The commentary from Martin Brundle on the last lap was easily GMIF1P material, especially as I had spun due to a lapse of concentration on the last lap and was quite close to hitting the wall. I was also given a penalty after slightly cutting one of the corners just before I pitted.
This is a cool spot.

PRESS RELEASE
DCTWRFSAMF1SRT continued their downward spiral into rejectdom this weekend at Albert Park, after a shocking weekend.
The team's woes began in Free Practise, where during a long run by team leader Kostas, his team-mate Enrique Bernoldi was exiting pit-lane. However Bernoldi was clearly jealous of the highly talented Kostas, so decided to swerve onto the racing line at the exit of pit-lane, and with nowhere to go at 190mph the two collided, with both cars destroyed and Bernoldi pirouetting in the air for several seconds. Not the best of starts.
It got worse in Qualifying however - Bernoldi once again was seeking revenge for some unknown reason, so when Kostas spun exiting Ascari, Bernoldi went like a cruise missile into the side of Kostas' stricken car, totalling both cars instantly.
However all was not lost, as 15 minutes and several hundred rolls of duct tape later Kostas did one final run - and put his A23 11th on the grid.
QUALIFYING RESULTS
1 Michael Schumacher FERRARI 1m 27.069s
2 Ralf Schumacher WILLIAMS-BMW 1m 27.380s

22 Giancarlo Fisichella BENETTON-RENAULT 1m 32.773s
The race itself was a brief high followed by endless lows. Kostas had made a blinding start and was up to 6th by the first corner. At Turn 3 while Barrichello and Montoya were busy fighting each other, he swooped around the outside to pass both of them down the inside at Turn 4.
However it all went downhill from there. On Lap 3, Montoya tried a stupid lunge at Clark corner and whacked Kostas off the road, demoting him back to 6th. Then only a few seconds later at Ascari, Trulli tried a similarly dumb maneouvre down the inside, again shoving Kostas off the road without any consequences for the perpetrator. By now Kostas was down to 14th and had a train of cars just behind him. It was once again at Clark that saw his downfall - Irvine braked too late, so ran into the back of Button, who consequently rammed Kostas off the road. This time he was out - his car missing its left rear wheel. Button too was left stranded. 4 laps was all Kostas eventually managed.

Re: F1 Rejects World Championship - Round 1
Vitantonio Liuzzi, his body and soul inhabited by 'shinji', had a magnificent race in his Toro Rosso at Melbourne. A magnificent start from 15th on the grid propelled him to 9th behind Jacques Villeneuve. He proceeded to make his way through the field, and was 4th by his pit stop on lap 10. He came out in to 6th, and after leader Fernando Alonso's engine failure he ended up 5th by race end. Team-mate Scott Speed broke down on lap 7, almost causing his team-mate to crash on the oil laid down.
A good weekend for the former Minardi team, with Liuzzi posting a very respectable fastest lap time in addition to his 4 points. Mystery surrounds the identity of 'shinji', who appears to be in control of Liuzzi's driving and general behaviour.

*edit* now the playstation is broken, like US f1 I am going to have to ask to miss the first races until it can be fixed, and like f1 I may never reappear, sorry minardi fan and everyone

Hans Heyer-Esque Grand Prix Engineering
Result for Melbourne GP: Withdrawn
Reason:
Unfortunately my computer has started to suffer from an occasional lack of processing power when playing certain games, which means that my keyboard and mouse freeze for a short period of time every now and then, repeating the last command given while being frozen. In practice, this means that my car may keep on turning and turning even if I'm already supposed to go straight, or refuses to brake and/or steer when I'm cornering, or keep on braking even if I'm already supposed to turn my car.
I could barely finish the Winter Tests, where I could drive a few "clean" laps (no controller freezing) every once in a while, but I just can't drive a race, even if it was just 30% of the original length. I tried to fix this problem during this week so I could race, but to no avail. So, I'll have to withdraw from this event. Maybe before the next race I'll be able to fix this problem (perhaps by installing this to another computer, if nothing else helps).
Have you tried a No-CD crack? Or is it that the game isn't even installed on your computer right now?

NIPPOITALIAN WILDCARDS
Race report
Melbourne
Luca Pacchiarini
The young italian paydriver after a troublesome friday practice, was looking confident for qualifying: but he woke up too late because the clock alarm didn't ring, so he had to join the qualifying session with only 20 minutes to go.
However, all the spectators were amazed to see the tuscan paydriver score the tenth time in his F1 debut, just in front of Eddie Irvine and Jacques Villeneuve.
The start was good, gaining a couple of positions, until, at the end of the first lap the driver made a mistake at the penultimate corner, losing three places.
However, he caught the slipstream of Coulthard and overtook him on the inside of Turn 3, forcing the scottish driver to go out of the track.
The race went on without problems till the end of the 8th lap, when Pacchiarini again did a mistake at the penultimate corner, losing four positions.
He managed to gain a place, overtaking Fisichella on the inside of the first corner and finished 15th.

Re: F1 Rejects World Championship - Round 1
PRESS RELEASE
The M16-Midland concept has failed to make the first race at Melbourne, thus Kostas and team-mate Tiago Monteiro will not participate in the first race of the season as scheduled.
The cars were unable to race after a critical failure of part PS2-SL05 rendered them completely useless.
"For sure this is a dissapointment but we hope the car will be fixed properly by the next race," said Kostas. "If not we will seek other solutions, even if not a permanent fix."
"Compared to the big race earlier where we knew we were maybe not on the pace anyway, this is a bitter pill to swallow because we knew we were competitive with this car, because it was not too nervous through the bends - it feels like it's really planted to the ground."
Meanwhile Kostas was still not happy about the results from hours earlier - and wasn't afraid to play the blame game.
"I dunno what the f*** Bernoldi was up to during FP and Quali...writing off the T-car and then almost doing it to my race car is not cool. And I tell you what, I may be a pay-driver rookie, but some of the driving I saw out there today would make most FFord guys look like F1 world champions. Montoya was all over the f***ing place trying to get past and then decided to do it the dirty way. So did Trulli, and then when I saw the race afterwards I notice him do the same thing to his team-mate Alesi...he needs to calm down too."

Melrose Racing Team Press Release:
After MRT took over what effectivly was Jaguar after the manufacturer left after one disappointing season they came to Melbourne with high hopes, 2 young drivers and a half decent car. Pedro De La Rosa in car 19 did a pretty good job to put the car 14th on the grid but it was his younger teammate Daniel Melrose who stole the show with a blistering time to put himself 7th on the grid.
Raceday and it was getting even better for MRT with Melrose making an absolutely brilliant start to end up 4th by the exit of the first corner behind the Schumachers and Hakkinen. De La Rosa had also made a good start and was up to 12th. On lap 3 this became 3rd and 11th respectivly when Michael spun off at Ascari and ended up at the rear. Barrichello suffered a similar fate on lap 11 when he ran into the back of Melrose while Coulthard and Montoya tried to find a way past.
Melrose heroically stayed in 3rd infront of several faster cars until lap 13 where Montoya got by on the run to Stewart and Melrose was down to 4th. De La Rosa was up to 10th at this point. Coulthard did the same thing from Melrose on lap 15 and this led to Melrose running wide on the exit and letting Trulli catch up. In the end though Melrose held to 5th while De La Rosa finished 10th.
In an interview team manager Jack Zaciah was happy with the team's performance but it could have been all that much better while both drivers were quoted saying that the car is "decent" and "A good platform to work from" although Melrose was also quoted saying "The car is too hard on its tyres on a long stint"
Zaciah also had a message for DeCrasheris TWR which was "Those idiots should get their act together."

I got involved in a collision, ran off the road several times and nearly got taken out by a fast starting Williams and I still won

-12 seconds from someone who uses the default set up.
I think my own set ups are either not very good or are eating my tires... or Wizzie is amazing. Still, good fun.
