ALT-F3000: 1990 Season - Round 12 Up
It's back! The series nobody expected to survive has returned for another year of fun, and we are into the new decade. We bid a fond farewell to Middlebridge and Oreca, but in their place we have a bumper field with Apomatox, RSM Marko and Paul Stewart Racing all joining the fold. As a result, we will have pre-qualifying for the first time in the series history, with the bottom four teams from last year, as well as Paul Stewart and RSM Marko (For the purposes of this exercise, Apomatox will be considered a continuation of the Oreca team) vying for the eight remaining slots to make the field

Re: ALT-F3000: TMUSB - 1990 Season - Confirm Teams
The Rules
General Rules
- Each team must enter a maximum of 2 cars at all races. They do NOT have to be the same chassis type, but they MUST use the same engine.
- Points are 9-6-4-3-2-1 and all points count to the title.
- Teams that are in the red once the season has finished and all prize money distributed will be declared bankrupt. The next person on the waiting list will then have the opportunity to move up into the series.
Marketplace
- The Marketplace for 1990 will open once all team spots are filled
- Each team must purchase a minimum of two chassis and two engines. You may purchase more as necessary, but no team can own more than three chassis at any one time.
- As with last year, every manufacturer has a set number of chassis available at the start of the year, but more will become available randomly as the year goes along, so keep an eye out for them.
- There are an unlimited number of engines available from each manufacturer.
- Due to the boom of the used F3000 car market with the birth of British F3000 and Formula Holden, and the growth of Japanese F3000, resale values of cars have increased substantially. At the end of the season, teams can sell their chassis for the following resale values:
1990-spec: 70% of new value
1989-spec: 60% of new value
1988-spec: 50% of new value
1987-spec: 40% of new value
- If the car is sold in a damaged state, repair costs will be deducted from the sale price. The minimum sale or scrap price is 10% of market value
- Teams are also free to do private sales or lease deals among themselves
Damage
- The big difference from last year is the abolishing of the wear system. Instead, a modified version of the damage system used in Tommykl's Alt-F1 will be adopted.
- For every race-ending accident or collision that a driver is involved in, an RNG will be rolled depending on the severity of the crash. The categories are as follows:
Category 1: 0-25% the cost of the chassis
2: 20-45%
3: 40-65%, 5% of driver injury
4: 60-85%, 5% chance of a write-off, 10% of driver injury
5: 80-105%, 10% chance of a write-off, 20% of driver injury
(For reference, the vast majority of accidents will be in the 1-2 range)
- For each mechanical failure caused by an oil leak, water leak or outright engine failure, a similar RNG will be run. The range will be from 0-50 for oil and water leaks, and 0-105 for outright engine failures, with any value over 100 being considered a total write-off. Any engine that is deemed a write-off will have a residual scrap value of 10% of original value.
- All damage must be repaired before each race, or a spare car can be entered in its place.
- Damage can either be repaired by the manufacturer, or at Renzo Engineering for half the price. Renzo Engineering repairs are known for being rather interesting, for lack of a better term, so be prepared for random side effects when you get your cars back from them.
Aging
At the end of each season, chassis will undergo aging to reflect their growing obsolescence. As the chassis system has been adopted from ARWS, aging will be as follows:
1990-Spec Car
1 Year (start of 1991): -3 DF, +2 Handling, +1000 CFP
2 Years (1992): -2 DF, -1 Handling, +1500 CFP
3 Years (1993): Trust me, you don't want to know
1989-Spec Car
2 Years (1990): -2 DF, -1 Handling, +1500 CFP
3 Years (1991): See 3 years for 1989-spec cars
1988-Spec Cars
3 Years (1990): Good luck to you. You're gonna need it
1987-Spec Cars

Re: ALT-F3000: TMUSB - 1990 Season - Confirm Teams
The market will open at 6am Sunday May 20th AEST (8pm Saturday May 19th GMT) for teams wishing to purchase cars from the open market. Teams are free to conduct their own private deals before the official window, but will not be executed until then
The market opening will also be the deadline for Peteroli, AndreaModa and SuperAguri to confirm their participation. Should they not confirm their entry in the series, RejectDom, GertrandBachot and TakagiFTW will step up into the series (You can call dibs on what teams you'd like to manage now to ease the transition)

Right, I'm gonna call dibs on Paul Stewart Racing if SuperAguri doesn't respond in time. Or Spirit-TOMS, I don't mind which.
Plus I've updated the wiki page with all of the teams, and that'll be continuously updated with the most recent information.

Considering I am first in the waiting list, I should technically be the one calling dibs on Paul Stewart Racing
Alternatively I could take on Spirit-TOM'S.

I have a question about where Middlebridge's money from selling equipment goes. I'd like to think that the Middlebridge team in other motorsports categories get the money, but I would appreciate some clarification on this. Thanks.

We will then purchase two Ford-Cosworth DFY engines.

Re: ALT-F3000: TMUSB - 1990 Season - Market Open
Onyx is to sell one of their Lola T/89/50 chassis and one of their Ford Cosworth DFY engines (so the other one miht be fitted wiht an engine of the team's choice)
Thus with the money earned with those team will by two Reynard 90D plus two Ford Cosworth engines, if money allows

Bromley will sell both its Judd Engines and one Reynard 89D and will acquire 1 Reynard 90D and 2 Mugen Honda Engines

RSM Marko will purchase 1 new 1990 Reynard alongside two new Mugen-Honda units.
We've also made a deal with Bromley to take their '89 Reynard for 130k.
