Engines

Exactly the same as last year, simply peruse the spreadsheet and pick what engine you'd like. Each engine manufacturer has teams they MUST supply, and teams they CAN supply. If there are two or more tams who are interested in obtaining Alfa or Matra engines, an RNG will be run to determine who gets the contract. Teams bidding for Alfa or Matra engines must also provide a second choice.

Suppliers

Tyres are mandatory, but the other suppliers are optional.

Like tyres, you can only have one active supplier, but you may bid for up to 3 suppliers to fill that slot. Suppliers are in three categories - Petroleum, Lubricants, and Parts. You can bid for 3 suppliers.

Supplier choices can be found on the spreadsheet, along with your current generated chassis stats.

Earthquake at Everest: New Management Makes Last-Minute Changes to 1979 F1 Plans

After rumors of a withdrawal of Scuderia Everest from Formula 1 after showing a reduced schedule for 1979 the Faenza-based team saw a walkout of much of its management staff from what appeared to be a hostile takeover of the team.

Earlier today Giancarlo Minardi announced that Scuderia Everest will have a new team manager for it's F1 team: Santino di Colombo-Ricci. In his first press conference the new manager promised to not rock the boat too much as the formula 1 approaches. "We will stick with the European schedule, and will only make minor changes to our operating procedure for the first few rounds. What will change is our long-term prospects. We will attempt to contest all four non-championship rounds, I promise you that!"

The team declined to comment on any change in investors, as rumors of a potential outright buyout of the team remain.

The Whittington Brothers have previously caused quite a stir at the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans for turning up with no known prior racing experience and paying for a Porsche 935 to race in cash, on the eve of the race. Against all expectations, they were also shockingly fast. Whether they intended to do the same at the Argentine Grand Prix is as yet unclear, but when pressed for comment neither Bernie Ecclestone of FOCA, nor Jean-Marie Belestre of FISA, were aware of the Whittington Brothers expressing any interest in Formula One.

She's still valued here, but part of valuing someone is trusting them to make the choices that are best for them."

Galica has competed in ten events for B&S, five of which have come in the World Championship, including the team's best ever finish to date of 12th place in the 1976 British Grand Prix.

Tyrrell also praised the performance of young Robert Kagan, who finished a very promising fourth after being as low as 17th on lap one.

"Robbie produced a stunning drive. He has really stepped up his game in the past six months and I'm really proud - he's a very talented young man, and this certainly wasn't the last we have seen of him in 1979."

According to the Whittingtons, they do not intend to compete in the European leg of the Formula One season, instead setting their sights on Long Beach, Montreal and Watkins Glen. They have also offered the Road Atlanta circuit as a possible non-Championship race venue because "what's the point in buyin' a racetrack if you don't wanna race on it?"

As of yet, nobody within the Formula One paddock has offered any comment about this brash pair of Americans. More to follow if and when it emerges.

OOC - If you prefer not to include the Whittington Brothers in proceedings, could they perhaps have an entry on the Wiki that simply lists them as "Excluded"?
